    My opinion, might be easier to attach the front and back if the 2 side bolts were left a little loose, then tighten all the bolts after the front and back are set.

    I've been trying to figure the interior head clearance of one of these.. I have a 2016 Tundra so I understand there may be some differences. Can you tell me high above the cab roof line the roof line of the RSI cap is? And can you measure from the bed side of the Ranger to lowest cross beam of the RSI roof? I've tried emailing the company quite a few times to no avail.. Any help would be appreciated..

    Nice video. Are there available screens that can be installed for the sliding window so someone can sleep in the back and have venting or is there a screen already installed there?

    Thanks for showing all the process installation.
    Couple of Q:
    -does it leak? Planing of transporting my musical instruments at the back adn also a PA system
    -is it suited for dogs as it has vent on the roof? Could be here a water problem, driving a truck in a rain?
    -can tailgate be opened while RSI is still closed? I have a metal protector on tailgate with about 3mm height...
    Thanks in advance!
    p.s.: I just love AIC tunes as a background music

    • @MainLineOverland
      @MainLineOverland  Před 3 lety

      It has been super watertight for me. Remember, you still have any OEM bed/ tailgate gaps, so if it’s wet and you are parked on a hill you might see a drizzle of water from those spots in the bottom gutter area. I use dry bags for my full time bed gear like vehicle recovery kit, overnight bags, etc.

      @@MainLineOverland many thanks! I have a rubber mat on the floor to and try to park car with nose higher than tail and it worked for me till now...also used some silicone around toneau and it works...tailgate can be tricky as whole bed has in declination towrds the cabin, but parking car with nose higher in mind does the trick...

    Tom, just wondering, you know how Rangers tend to come at a downward angle (by a couple inches) from the factory. Did the weight of the RSI Smartcap help to level out your Ranger?

    • @MainLineOverland
      @MainLineOverland  Před 2 lety

      Yes, the Ranger does have a bit more rake, but it also has a higher rated payload. I already had the ARB Bumper and winch on at the time of this video, so my rake is somewhat skewed by that front weight. The cap did bring the rear down an inch or two from stock height. I now have an OME 2.5” lift kit and with this kit you can tune the rake with several front and rear spring rate options.
      About 9 months on I have used the cap in every way imaginable, and am very happy with it. I have since advised Ranger customers who are installing themselves to find a dense foam spacer and use a light duty double sided tape to deal with the cabside bed wall. One piece of dense foam cut to both traverse the gap and seal the side rails will do the trick. 👍
