I’m a volunteer I’m abt a month in and I’m apart of the ladder company. Is this legit? They haven’t trained me on this yet, and I want to learn. Is this the best way or no because reading the comments idk what to believe.

Always adhere to your fire department's training, policies, and procedures. These training videos are presented as potential methods for FDs to explore as options, and, if viable, integrate into their ops. Best of luck.

1:26 suggestion…at this moment of 200 pounds…we need secondary ff ladder support to mount higher up behind ff1 (will appear like mounting from behind but taking lateral load impact of receiving victim away and self-restrain concerns as well. Unacceptable there are not quick ladder tread hooks to relieve muscle strain & dramatically improve safety. With such simple system Ff1 could lean back and accept victim…ff2 could then focus on CPR or restraining chaotic victim…and helping manage decent via simple ladder descent and restraint system. I would love (hate) to know how many ffs took a header off ladder with victim…wtf…>40% U.S. citizens obese…most ffs do not know what 350 pounds of dead weight feels like but not good time to realize on top of ladder with zero mechanism to manage…also ladder probably not certified to handle 1000 pounds (obese victim albeit not this one…two geared up ffs…what ladder your department have rated at 40 feet and rated at well over +1000 pounds? None

Move unconscious victim facing the rescuer.

1:21 i am not being critical; just advising around safety…if weight shifted, there is zero (none!) leverage from “hand at hip” second ff and all would crash to ground with odd weight shift. Don’t forget, we are each 300 pounds with gear…add 350 pound Walmart shopper and all three will be pile at ground and much greater injury.
Simple two clip, large carabiner with should loop behind upper body would allow ff1 and ff2 to safely manage descent of 500 pound person with zero blubber pile of 2 first responders and Walmart shopper.
Just sharing facts with a little verbal creativity ;-)
