    I have a 2004 VW Golf and I had to replace both front bearings, the right axle and abs sensor. I get everything working right and some stupid driver in Decatur, Ga. Tried to take off my right front end. $2900 worth of work. His insurance fixed it but the body shop didn't push the hub all the way in and now my abs light stay on. I didn't take it back to the shop because I had to fight them. They install a used axle instead of a new one. The used axle was throwing grease onto the new wheel. Lucky I made a video of me installing the new axle less than a year before the crash. Geico had no choice but to cut another check.

    Man listen, I have done a bearing job once!! It took me two days. The race had to be heated off. The next time the bearing messed up, I bought a new knuckle with the bearing attached already. More expensive, less headache

    On my escape I bought the whole knuckle, I was not pressing no bearings out.

  • @newfie-dean5803
    @newfie-dean5803 Před rokem

    I have a 2019 escape with a whoomp whoomp whoomp sound at 40-50 mph. At highway speed it goes away and it don’t seem to be affected much by turning. I was thinking it was a wheel bearing but I figured that should get noisier on the highway at higher speed. There’s no clicking noises so not sure if it would be the CV axle. Any idea what this could be?

    • @newfie-dean5803
      @newfie-dean5803 Před rokem

      It’s not the tires as the noise was there with my winter wheels on and the same noise is there when I changed those out for the summer wheels. Not sure if the brakes could be causing it as the front brakes are getting worn. Also my gas mileage is not as good lately so maybe the front brake caliper is sticking.

    • @ThePullUpKing
      @ThePullUpKing  Před rokem +1

      Have your wheel bearings inspected

    • @newfie-dean5803
      @newfie-dean5803 Před rokem +1

      It’s at the dealer now. A wheel bearing is gone. Weird how turning never changed the sound and how it was less noisy on the highway. Maybe it’s an earlier stage failure. It did start making some noise at highway speed so it was getting worst. Perhaps the next stage would have been noise changes when turning.

    • @ThePullUpKing
      @ThePullUpKing  Před rokem

      @newfie-dean5803 Your absolutely correct. It was getting worse. I've have cars that didn't sound like a bad wheel bearing, but was. Glad you found the problem.

    What does the speed sensor read? I don't see a ring there 🤔

    • @ThePullUpKing
      @ThePullUpKing  Před 9 měsíci

      The speed of a vehicle's wheel rotation. It usually consists of a toothed ring and pickup.

    • @deebee4206
      @deebee4206 Před 5 měsíci +1

      If there's no tone ring(ring with teeth) around the CV shaft, the sensor usually reads off the bearing. If that's the case, the bearing needs to be pressed in with the magnetic/seal side facing the direction of the speed sensor. One side of the bearing is silver/aluminum and the other mag side is grey/black.

    Did you lose any trans fluid when removing the axle assembly? Also, the service manual calls for replacing the shaft seal on the transmission, which I don't find totally necessary. I assume you left that in place?

    • @ThePullUpKing
      @ThePullUpKing  Před 6 měsíci

      Barely. No, I didn't replace it. Left the old one on.

    So i installed my cv axle on the same side of my 18' escape and i know its seated properly but now the car wont move. Do you have any idea why this might be? I didnt loose any transmission fluid during the install so i didnt add any when i was finished. Im at a total loss..

    • @ThePullUpKing

      Do you think it could be cause my ball joint is shot? It had like 3 holes in it

    • @ThePullUpKing
      @ThePullUpKing  Před 3 měsíci +1

      @peggypatsy91 Nah bad ball joints won't keep the tires from rotating. It's only 2 things that could be wrong. It's not seated properly or low transmission fluid.

    • @peggypatsy91
      @peggypatsy91 Před 3 měsíci +1

      Thank you so much for your insight, i appreciate it. I guess im gonna flush the trans then🙄 of course the escape is sealed trans so this should be fun! Lol
