This is due to the drugs being an immediate solution for your withdrawals, so the "feel good" sensation is likely to look much potent than withdrawals themselves, however to someone like me who's put an effort to rehabilitation and went through withdrawals without any immediate solution except just going through them, I know once I relapse, in other to gain my life back I will have to go through that again and it's something I am not willing to go through again.

I live in the hospital for 6 months and had a team of pain specialist and I was so addicted after I finally started to recover that it took me over 8 years to finally get my life back. I had surgery to repair a collarbone in 2015 and was prescribed dilaudid in my recovery. I remember taking the letter to the pharmacy and they gave me, I shit you not, at least 200 pills from that one letter. I remember thinking to myself "can you even give me that many?" but I respected the doctor and took them home.
I took only a couple pills over the 16 hours totally respecting time in between doses. I remember passing out then waking up in total DKA (I'm a Type 1 diabetic) because I missed insulin doses during my sleep. Not ONCE did my diabetes come up in anything I was talked about in between my surgeon, doctor or the pharmacists with regards to my pills. I spent a weekend in the hospital then when I got home the first thing I did was take the pills BACK to the pharmacist who looked confused I would bring them back.
For all the smarts the doctors have they really dropped the ball with pharmaceutical companies never questioning them. This is why people question health care not because Twitter or Trump told them to do so.

I dislocated my right knee by slipping on ice, making my leg turn a neat 360 with my kneecap halfway up my thigh looking absolutely nightmarish.
Got to the emergency and was fed by shot something that I still don't know what it was, but after 15 minutes the doctor that could 'fix' and put my leg back into place came, they had trouble with my pant leg. So, they asked me if I'd rather strip (with a fucked leg) or if they could scissor it. I responded, despite feeling clearheaded, with "hehehehe"...
As I was snickering at the question, the doctor and accompanying nurses also laughed for a second, before I squeezed out a morbid "Scissors, hahaHAHA!"
At that point I was certain I would absolutely get mega-addicted if I found out how to get more of whatever was in that shot, so I simply closed my eyes, got my leg snapped back and forced myself to not take a look or ask about the shot.

Some people genetically are just lucky that they find it very hard to get addicted to substances. I drank alcohol daily for 3 months then stopped cause it was boring, then pills, the weed, the coke/meth. I did most of these things for 2 months daily or more and every time I got bored I was able to just easily quit and didn't give a shit there was no cravings nothing. You know what I am addicted to though? P0rn and masturbation I can't stop no matter what, I always relapse, so I'm not completely "protected" against addictions just mainly substances, luckily the only thing I get from mine is the odd friction burn lol.
