- Today we go over some of our best and favorite epoxy flooring tips and tricks! We are installing new epoxy coating over this garage floor and the result is STUNNING. Especially the ultra clean tape line that I really go into detail about!

Man thanks so much for this. I am having pre-roll epoxy rolling anxiety and hopped on CZcams for some tips just before mixing it. Glad I did.
oh good, so glad to hear brother! Remember to let it sweat for 20 or 30 minutes or so in the bucket that will get most of the bubbles out and make it easier to use👍💪 Good luck and let me know if you have any questions. You will knock it out of the park 💪🤝

I've always wondered how to achieve that laser sharp line at the garage. Too many times I've seen the epoxy "racing stripe" on the outside of the garage. Excellent work to you and your pals, thanks for sharing.
Hey, thank you so much John👊💪🤝 we really appreciate it! Yes, I agree...I don't know why, but I always thought it looks so cheesy having a racing stripe coming outside of the garage door! Great video man. Just recently got myself into this business as well. If you don't mind I have a few questions. How late in the season do you epoxy? And what kind of foam rollers do you use? I tried thin and thick, but seem to lean on thin wool. Would love a more in depth conversation, video is very helpful 👌

Thank you. What kind of tape did you use for the door line? Also... what tape did you use for the "baseboard"? It looks like all the tape will pull clean? I thought it would pull up the epoxy?

Can you show how you get the tape/paper under the base-board?
Hi, what kind of tape do you use? The epoxy always runs a little through my tape line. I have never been able to get a clean line. I’ve tried painters and duct. Thanks!
Couple things.. 1. what products do you use? 2. Putting down product and flake in sections how do you not get flake on concrete not epoxied? Or epoxy on flake that’s already been thrown?
Hello Michael, good questions. So I like using armorseal 1000 from sherwin Williams and also from versatile building products. We do it in sections and try to leave the saw cuts as our cut lines, but a little trick we use is to always have a cordless blower so we blow off all of the excess before starting the next square💪🤝 When we have a seem or sections that don't get epoxied we simply use gorilla tape or duct tape. thanks for the comment and let me know if you have anymore questions
I noticed the floor doesn't look like it was diamond ground, was there a reason? Or you did something else to prep the surface?
When you pull tape right after you apply the clear coat, any loose flake, broke off pieces of cured epoxy or any debris that is on the tape when you pull it, you risk that stuff landing on your fresh clear coat that is still sticky and wet.
How many gallons did you use of paint and how many of clear?
How are you able to reach to put the flakes after the base coat is down? And what products did you use? Great video!
Hello there! So once we put the base coat down I throw the flakes up in the air and broadcast them, once I have thrown the flake up...and I emphasize up! Then I take metal spike cleats, and very carefully walk around the edges and make sure we flake evenly on the entire square. They are valled cleats or epoxy spikes...kind of cool, like walking on 20 nails, so we don't damage or leave marks on the floor! I'll try to put up a pick if I can figure out how. How do you grind a perfectly straight line where the edge of the epoxy stops underneath the garage door?
That's what needs to be done to act as an anchor for the epoxy to settle in as opposed to the lip of epoxy that could peel or flake off.... What I do is get a flat piece of wood and use the angle grinder along the wood as a guide
Why don't you pour directly on the floor instead of using the deep-tray?

sorry for the delay...its been crazy lately. So usually on a floor like this I will go through 2 or 3 50 pound boxes. so on this I think I was about 120lbs. Thanks for the comment
that floor looks completely unprepped...
I know it may look so on video to some, but I assure you we really take our prep seriously. We diamond grind by hand and walk behind, but most of the floors we are doing are new and very porous. I can't remember this floor exactly, but it may have been done with acid etch instead if diamond grind. About a year and a half ago we switched from acid etch to diamond grind, but thankfully we have yet to had have a floor fail out here and our first couple were about 14 years ago. Hi Paint boss. When you say diamond grind by hand are you using 7” hand grinders with cup wheels? If so what’s your go to wheel?
