I have never been to this kind of racing. I've been to dirt tracks but this would be awesome. Im from south Louisiana and dont see this here......... Just Awesome
the chevy @ 4:15 did a sick burn out and it was better then all the mustangs so far. that corvette hit the mile at 5.95 @ 237 mph that's one record to beat rite there. @ 6:13 is so props for that guy like 100% props
Somebody really love there ford here LOL. Don't matter who's design or what style of motor, these days everybody shares parts and designs. It's just how it is, just give credit to these great engine builder who build these motors that power these fast car that we enjoy watching so much. All this ford, GM, and Dodge drama is crazy, it america history so who care really.
The pussies ruined that. They're scared of speed. 660' brings in a lot of unqualified drivers. I started racing 1/4 mile runs before I was 15 years old... 1969/1970 Ford Mustangs and 1969/1970 Dodge Super Bees. We ran the hell out of those cars... learned a lot and major fun.
I remember growing up working in the waterbox this was always a wednesday night race. Getting up for school with shards of rubber up my nose sucked! The track record for pro mod was 6.59 by Bill Kullman......slow by today's standards. Have no idea how I remembered that.
actually its pro extreme and a pro extreme can run a screw blower any fuel he/her wants can have nitrous and can have what ever size block you want and has no weight limit and an pro mod has to run a roots blower on alcohol injected system
Yes, I work with the Pro Mod association, most of the supercharged cars are between 522 and 526 cubic inches, Turbo cars are usually 670 cubic inches, Nitrous cars vary, from a small 768ci to a large 866ci. Rules keep these cars very competitive.
Ah,....they finally started showing up later in the video. Are they separated by class from the turbo nitrous cars. I usually see them running against each other.
acually ud be surprised. the new cobra jet shelby mustang has like 550hp and its made for the drag strip runs 9s. im no expert but id bet tht a 1800hp car thts set up strictly for the quarter mile cud get in the low 7s high 6s
I love all cars from the muscle car era. I was a corvette fanatic years back and loved camaro's and owned 2 of them. Later got behind the wheel of a 5.0 mustang, Chevy have a nice day! A far superior engine. These big cube engines are all Ford spec big blocks. Said thing the media hides that. The Chevy big block in these classes of high horse powers have become obsolete. NHRA has always been henchmen for GM to keep Chevy in the winners circle banning Ford and using rule books to govern them.
My classmates laughed when I told them I was going to burn calories with Shape X Booster, but then I showed them the results. Go google Shape X Booster to see their reaction.
This is my opinion okay, I've watched drag racing since the late sixties, thesrw cars are wicked fast, their engines I as am sure, are works of engineering brilliance........but they look all the same man. Except for paint and stickers to look like grilles, they are basically the same. Gassers on the other hand, are 99% different configurations. So while I like these cars..I don't personally love them. IMO
jeff w. Hi Jeff, you're spot on. I feel most funny cars these days are basically frame, 8,000 hp nitro huffer for power and some crazy fuck to drive it. My idea of "funny cars" are the older a/fx cars, which were the birth of today's cars. I love the old f/altereds, the gassers, the FX Were the bomb. Chevy had the aluminium 409 with 427 heads. Ford had the Thunderbolt. Pontiac had the 421 super duty Tempests. Jeff what I am saying is I love it all. I am just saying the cars of yesteryear had more character.
Michael Miserocchi Very valid point, but that is why there are still plenty of Stock and Super stock races, not to mention numerous different nostalgia leagues. Kind of a new school vs old school deal, and I love em both!
When you get to this level. EVERYONE has it figured out. They all know how to make the most horsepower. You're right most the motors are the same. It all comes down to who's the best driver and who can handle all that power the best. That why guys like Jason Line, Greg Anderson, jeg coughlin and Warren Johnson have been so dominate over the years.
Top Doorslammer has no limits too and drives faster than pro mods. But Extreme drives faster because of the use of gas I think. They have it like Top Fuel I guess but much weaker engines than them
Still Doorslammers drive faster? Hmm... Doorslammers has ''no limits'' which make the get how much horse power as they want to, which make them more powerfull than Pro mod but Pro Mod Extreme is A LOT faster than pro mod and doorslammers.
When you pop the hood on these Chevy's you see racing, and you see a symmetrical head. What you are seeing is a FORD spec big block. They have nothing to do with Chevy. All your motors in Pro Stock are all FORD spec big block. This is what the media keeps from the public. The same as the LS engines which as well are FORD designs.
Thank you so much for bringing us these videos, I love watching all the badass cars.
O ronco desses motores dos Mustang's é arrepiente!Sensacional...
I had to watch it again, dude you nail the burnouts perfectly!!!!
wow the blown promods when they hit revs in stage it sounds sweet
WOW! amaazing footage of an awesome event. I was so into it at the end.

That hairdyer at the end sure does scream before launching!!
nothing beats the sound of a mountain motor pro stock!!!! ALL MOTOR!!! Dam good video!!!
Love the Pro Mods.....you did a great job videoing this!!!
Some damn-fast cars running times of 6.0 and below at MIR! Whew man!!
So good to see Mountain Motors again! 6.20's on motor is amazing! Can't wait to see a 5sec pass!
excellent vid,no talking no music, writing, thanks, now how do you turn on the gas& rubber smell?
awesome video. Off the charts. thanks so much
Wow. I love those blower cars. Specialy that Black and red 63 Corvette! (: What a race!
Awesome video....thank you for sharing with us!
I have never been to this kind of racing. I've been to dirt tracks but this would be awesome. Im from south Louisiana and dont see this here......... Just Awesome
Excellent footage, thanks a lot !!
Thanks guys I love the wheel's up Action thanks again guys
It's crazy. These mountain motor are nitrous motors now. It also blows my mind's how the 632 used to be a badass pro mod motor.
the chevy @ 4:15 did a sick burn out and it was better then all the mustangs so far. that corvette hit the mile at 5.95 @ 237 mph that's one record to beat rite there. @ 6:13 is so props for that guy like 100% props
Videos are great tho keep up the good work!
The clank of a big block

I Agree.
The pussies ruined that.
They're scared of speed.

What happened to the Pro Stocks at MIR this year?
Great Video! Thank's for the coverage. 👍 👍!! CHEVY 💪 💪!! 🏁
great video
@ 7:02 Does anyone have any idea what type or brand of the engine that black and red 63 Vette have?
I remember growing up working in the waterbox this was always a wednesday night race. Getting up for school with shards of rubber up my nose sucked! The track record for pro mod was 6.59 by Bill Kullman......slow by today's standards. Have no idea how I remembered that.
Just Remember!! KILLER RED TOMATO!!
OH HELL YES!! 1/8 gives you an idea, but THIS?!
The Real Deal!!
Is this recorded with a hubcap?
Tetszik. szép és látványos
i respect all different kinds of racing. they all take tremendous amounts of skill and patience, quit being ignorant and educate yourself.
How can you tell the PM and EPM apart? (if the announcer etc doesn't say it)
Sonny"s the legend !!!
Engine: Allen Johnson 481x
Cubic Inches: 526
Power Adding Device: Blower
What kind of HP is needed to run 6.5 seconds 2500hp? Just a guess, close?
Thank you (:
Extreme Pro Mod anything goes, Pro Mod has rules and weight limits depending on what set up you are running Turbo,Nitrous,Blower.
The XPS cars are unlimited engine's size right ? where NHRA PS is 500 ci ? this kinda remind's Me of the IHRA mountain motor pro stocks car's !!
I see some cars had pontiac representations of front grill. Is this not tied to sponsorship? And pontiac being retired as a brand?
actually its pro extreme and a pro extreme can run a screw blower any fuel he/her wants can have nitrous and can have what ever size block you want and has no weight limit and an pro mod has to run a roots blower on alcohol injected system
Spme of the blower cars run alchohol. Some run Nitromethane. It depend which orginazation they run in.
Beast cars man.....come back to hmp
Can any one tell why the fords sound so ungodly compared to other mountain motors doing burnouts
Twin turbo mountain motors? A class for that? Nitrous assisted, maybe have to run as fuel funny car?
Somewhat similar to the funny car of the mid to late 60s; variation!
Watch this video with some good quality ear set..... the audio is sick!!!!! It's like you're there!!!
they got more power in one cylinder than i got in my whole 406 sbc lmao
Is this .25 mile
was i hearing right did i hear 845ci at one point?
Yes, I work with the Pro Mod association, most of the supercharged cars are between 522 and 526 cubic inches, Turbo cars are usually 670 cubic inches, Nitrous cars vary, from a small 768ci to a large 866ci. Rules keep these cars very competitive.
godragracingMark I like how you consider 768ci small.
yeh and sonnys car is a 1000ci motor.
Grate
the noise at 7:20 is called 7:20
can someone tell me what that noise was at 7:20
That is the sound of the Red Camaro's motor on the two step, You basically Mat the throttle and it holds the RPM steady.
Oh thanks
Oh thanks
blower wine at 7.20
30:47 to 30:54 best part of the whole video
@mrbooster999 you must like NASCAR... lol
Why no blower cars?
Ah,....they finally started showing up later in the video. Are they separated by class from the turbo nitrous cars. I usually see them running against each other.
+Glitch I'm pretty certain the Pro Stock class is all naturally aspirated.
I sure wish NHRA would swap out ProStock for Pro Mod. So much more fun to watch.
Glitch I like pro stock better
From the looks of the entire vid, the left lane just refused to let anyone hook up properly and if you got that lane you got screwed!
acually ud be surprised. the new cobra jet shelby mustang has like 550hp and its made for the drag strip runs 9s. im no expert but id bet tht a 1800hp car thts set up strictly for the quarter mile cud get in the low 7s high 6s
825 ci, wow
Did I just see a 5.95
lmao @ 20:01 had to pause for the girl ;)
Royce must have been embarrassed...left lane was obviously suspect.
These guys cars are worth more than my HOUSE. Where do they get the money????
They got their own businesses or have sponsors.
Well in Sweden it's different.
left lane stalled almost every time

I LOVE TEH AMERICANS WHO MAKE THIS POSSIBLE .. GOD BLESS IN JESUS NAME
most of them own there own businesses and others re-finance their house
some of them buy old pro stock cars
NHRA pro stocks has nothing on these
Mectech para que Rayos fuiste para allá para recibir pela que vergüenza.
LMFAO. You were right.
pro mod is 10x faster then doorslammers
whats the point of making the car look like a camaro or Pontiac there no way near stock
this is some serious s%^t !
My classmates laughed when I told them I was going to burn calories with Shape X Booster, but then I showed them the results. Go google Shape X Booster to see their reaction.

If that's the case I can imagine what you think about todays funny cars; talk about being all the same!
