The problem I'm having, 6 months in, is that after 30 years in the same job I'm now the manager and I can't seem to shift from what I was before to manager. I can't go from Hourly to Salary.

It can be. But find a good gradient to start letting go of functions and you will quickly realize how much easier it is

This is not delegation. You do not delegate responsibility, you delegate authority.

I'm not quite sure I get what you are saying. Delegation can be responsibility it can be authority, it can be a duty or a job. Delegation is giving someone a job or duty and getting them to do that task. It could be big or small.
