Urban Stealth Camping Van Tour w/Off Grid Solar:
This van is Set up as an off-grid stealth camper van.
It is fully equipped with a solar power electrical system. There are two Solar Panels discretely mounted to the roof of the van. All the rest of the electrical components including the Solar Controller, Pure Sine Wave inverter, and deep cycle Gel battery are mounted inside of the van.
The batteries are also connected to the vanâs alternator to maximize its charging capabilities. With this electrical system installed, you can watch tv, charge devices, and play video games for hours without running out of power.
There are AC and USB outlets in convenient areas throughout the van, as well as super bright rechargeable magnetic LED lights with 3 brightness levels.
The living area of this tiny house has gas heat and a gas oven/stove. Thereâs also a fully functional sink and water system, as well a flushing toilet.
For cooking and ventilation, the tiny house has a 3 speed Dometic Fan-Tastic roof vent above the kitchen area.
There is a projector screen that can be angled on a swiveling wall mount which is connected to a DTV antenna and my PS4 video game console.
The couch can seat 4 people and converts into a king sized bed. There is a massive easy to reach storage space under the bed.
There are 3 layers of insulation which makes it easy to regulate temperature inside the van regardless of the temperature outside of the van.
All cabinets in the van are secured with magnets to make sure nothing falls while the van is moving. There is also a Murphy desk that has integrated wireless charging for personal cellular devices, laptops, and tablets.
The van is in excellent mechanical condition. Iâve driven it from North Carolina to California and back without a single issue.
I wanted to test my building skills by renovating an older van than I'm usually used to working with, so i decided to build this solar powered Urban Stealth Camping tiny house Van using the shell of a 1989 Ford Econoline 150. In this video I take you with me from start to finish and show everything that I built from the electrical setup to the details of each floorboard and shiplap wall panel. I was able to build this entire off grid tiny house with only $3,500. The van itself cost me $1,200.
mobile Tiny house living is all about doing everything you need to do in a house, while being parked anywhere you want, without ever being noticed. Stealth Camping is honestly one of the funnest things you can do while saving a ton of money, and I honestly believe that this is the most planned out and legitimate setup on youtube. - Jak na to + styl

Yes, he's amazing! I wish all kinds of success and happiness to him.
facts. this is my idea of a dream home! having a vehicle/van like this brilliant creation\conversion would sincerely change my life imeasurably for the absolute better in every way. i am going to do everything i am able to, to achieve the goal of obtaining the vehicle as well as the materials to closely recreate this perfect home for my nomadic lifestyle. (i've become homeless many times throughout my life as i have a overwhelming NEED to never be rooted in one place for too long of a period of time. (my family was military and we moved so so so much when I was growing up and it became the main routine that never seemed to change, at least ever 36 months if not less. i did not like having to move so much albeit i came to know moving around and traveling as a way of life and i cannot imagine living my life any other way than being nomadic.) this home would make my way of life a comfort because I could ALWAYS take my home with me wherever i go and i believe would eventually help me become comfortable with being in a single certain place and or area for a longer period of time to not have to have my son have the same trouble and insecurity that i unfortunately developed through no fault/choice of my own. thankyou for sharing this video and creation/conversion with me as well as the world. namaste my brother.
Thatâs why y I subbed bro he rate breed but sooner or later he gonna charge so take advantage now
The security cameras was a good idea that I haven't seen in any other van tour.
I normally do not watch a CZcamsr's video all the way through without fast forwarding or stopping before it ends. However, I find watching DualEx video so therapeutic that I watch them from start to end. His craftmanship is so amazing!
Honestly this is the most simple yet ingenious setup Iâve seen out of all van builds Iâve watched
This is one of the best van conversions I've seen in awhile.

If thatâs the best youâve seen in a while you should look around CZcams lol

As far as weight goes, you should drill some holes into the wooden cabinets to loose unnecessary weight. I had seen a dude on CZcams do this but I cannot find his video, again. Cool van though.
@@Dualex_Builds You are THE MOST reasonable on CZcams. Please consider training some youth so you can PROVIDE employment. Maybe talk to the Boys and Girls Club or some other local organizations, set up a Non-profit so they pay you for training the youth. It's SO EMPOWERING when you provide EMPLOYMENT for others PLUS you are compensated for your time. đčMay the Lord continue to Bless the work of your hands in Jesus Name, Amen!
Love these more "budget" builds. You don't need to spend 80K on a brand new sprinter. Well done!
Absolutely amazing talent. Youâre craftsmanship is far above what Iâve seen in a lot of other home van builds. You need some funding and a manufacturing / conversion facility to do this at a higher volume and full time. You absolutely deserve to make LOTS of money designing and building these buddy.
Youâre such a âSMARTâ young man! I have been trying to find the video, where you made a chair that fitted inside a desk...that was so awesome! Thanks!
My grandpa had that van when I was a kid. Man I can remember taking amazing naps in back of that thing. Huge
FYI, a paint exists called "Theater paint" specifically made for projected images. Its a dull silver grey paint
As a teacher I say it works pretty good. I've had 5th graders record the schools morning announcements using that as a background. 10 for 10.

Great Job! Really liked the projector idea and safety cameras. Those vans were so roomy. How would you include a shower/ toilet plan?Or would that need to meet code standards? I have seen several wiring techniques for vans. It has been a fun journey watching your new ideas. Plan on buying your book too.đđđ
You have a beautiful humble soul my brother. Donât ever lose that bc you shine and give so many young ppl the motivation to get out and actually do/build things w their own hands.
I am so impressed by the versatility of your design and the overall quality of your build. Excellent job!
The laptop table is so elegant !
The job you did on that van is first class and considering that van is 30 years old with only 99,000 miles, you should get some more good years out of it. Keep up the great work.
The awesome thing ab these older vans like this is you can buy a brand Jew engine for around $2k w a few years warranty on it. Easy to work on and actually pretty easy to change engine out. It doesnât have all the electronic stuff on it like a newer engine would, Iâm pretty sure this is fuel injected and thatâs ab the only âcomputerâ electronics it has
@@arfarms5711 you can't beat that because the engine is easier to work on. You need to be an engineer to work on these engines now...my dad was a carpenter and he had a work van, a 1984 Chevy and it was easy to work on that engine when you had to.
@@steviem5279 exactly bud. Those old engines will ab run forever if you take good care of em too
@@steviem5279 Iâm a logger and truck driver, was a farmer too, but we lost our farm bc of flooding for past 6 years straight losing crops, but all the new machines are nothing but computers and takes a âtechnicianâ with a lap top to work on things now. All my stuff is still old bc theyâll rape you at these shops working on the new machines. We leased a brand new John Deere tractor and the transmission went out 9 times in 14 months. They couldnât even fix it here at local dealer that leased us the tractor. We actually had to put a lawsuit on JD and the dealer
@@arfarms5711 My dad's late cousin lived in Oklahoma in a town on the panhandle. He was a mechanic who fixed farm equipment and he would travel to the farms in OK and TX and stay on those farms until the work was finished. I remember he called one time and we talked about what he did for a living and he said thank God he's retired because all of the new equipment is tough to fix and work on because of the computers and he said the same thing you did and that is things break down a lot more than they used. In my case, I used to work on my car all the time when I was younger, it was easy to work on and you can actually get to each part easier than you could now. The engines now are not only run by computers but they are squeezed in and its almost impossible to get to certain parts of the engine. What's crazy is that in the past you had the big V8 engines and larger in cars and you can work around them easily, but now with 6 cylinders or small you would think it would be easier but they are packed tight for some reason. Case and point, I had to chance the alternator on my 2006 Ford Escape, and getting to it was near impossible, it's squeezed into the back and you cannot get to it from the top of the engine and the only way to get to it is through the wheel well on the passenger side...I honestly felt like setting the damned car on fire.
Love how this is retro and then you enter and its a condo with a pupper!
Awesome safety camera! Thank you for sharing honey! xoxo

I bought my son a projector like that when he went to college, and he loved it. When a bunch of people wanted to watch movies, he would set it up in the common room and project it onto the wall and hook it up to some big speakers. It was like having a 100" flat screen with surround sound.

This is a beautiful van, you did a nice job on it! So clean! Great success in the future!
Another cool build and in no way trying to be negative, just concerned that no one gets hurt. I worry whether that wood countertop could get damaged or even catch fire. If you put a pan on there for boiling pasta and have sauce cooking on the other burner its going to get a lot of heat. Granite or even a piece of tile around the burners might be safer.
I worried about that too
Captain Calamity does not approve your comment. đ€Ș
One can put a protective metal layer under neath the lid when in use like they use behind wood stoves or something. But THAT gas strut! That is going to be in the way of cooking too?
@@longhairmullet those metal layers have a 1 inch minimum space between the metal and the wall materials and usually a distance of more than 12 inches between the metal and the stove. It may be perfectly safe, I claim no titles as to chief engineering overlord in charge of stove top distances. But it sure would suck to cook your dinner, sit down outside at the picnic table to enjoy nature while you eat and turn around to find your home on fire.
Now this is something I could see myself in, P4 on deck đ„
My grandpa had a van like this. It was so clean. Navy blue with light blue striping. Had a let out couch, swivel chairs and circle tables. And that was in the 90s. RIP Pawpaw đđż
The lap table is beautiful! Love all the counter space too!
This style van from the 1980s era is the reason why I want a modern class B camper van. I remember as a kid seeing these vans and wanting one bad. Yâall ever wonder if people that make these vans/ trucks into homes ever have little sessions in their house cause I would, jus lay down put a movie and spark one
You mean like in the van after itâs been made into a camper/home? Hell yea Iâve always thought that too how nice would that be, pull up to your job early as hell and get some extra sleep, literally can wait until your shift is 2 mins from starting and stroll right in comfortably, work all day and then when you get off, youâre literally hopping in your fucking home.... that sounds so nice. Drive to wherever youâre parking for that night, cook some food, spark a joint and then lay back and relax watching a movie and eating dinner in your home..... sounds like paradise to me honestly. Maybe one day Iâll be able to make that happen
We definitely do bro.
@@jaredcalvert9207 We think a lot a like, that's about how I see my van dwelling life going if I ever got into it. Maybe get a night job, spend nights at work and just go to whatever location for the day when you get off, (easy to blend in during the day that's a +)(maybe louder and harder to sleep that's a - ) who knows maybe you could even park at work for extended amounts of time if the employer would be okay with that. Your whole house would turn into your smoke den lol, I would set up some nice lighting around the van a little tv action, nice comfortable bed it would be great. The only thing I worry about is the space, because its so small I feel like the van would constantly smell like weed, that could be a problem if you're traveling through a certain state and get pulled over. It would just suck having your whole house getting searched for something like that. Whatâs old is new again. Nice job and excellent âstealthâ capabilities. Plus, being f150 based, you can get parts anywhere and cheap too! đ
MY EDIT: I was talking to a friend about your âUSCâ (Urban Stealth Camper đ) and he asked me what the âTOP cap looked likeâ. I remembered exactly what he was talking about as soon as he said it. That roof âextensionâ is pretty solid fiberglass and yours looks pretty good, but they are notorious for fading and or losing the âclear coatingâ and exposing the fiberglass. From what I could see yours looks real good and body does NOT appear to have typical Ford rust-rot holes. Might want to consider getting a quote from a decent paint shop what they would charge to JUST shoot a layer (or two) of clear-coating on whole van. You seem like a handy-guy so all you would need to do is light wet sanding on the whole van & TOP. They could clear coat it and that van would REAL stand out as a JUST A VERY WELL CARED FOR VEHICLE that could park in almost ANY neighborhood without drawing unwanted attention. Regardless, Iâm rethinking my next project because of your build. THANKS!!đ
It's not and F150 base either, it's and E150 hardly anything is interchangeable between the two. The good thing is Ford and this body style from 75-91 3rd gen Econoline.
@@zacharyclement8100 you obviously have no idea what you are talking about. Engine parts are identical from simple stuff like water-pump, ignition parts, etc. ALL the way down to transmission, rear end and brakes.
