Atrium Health Ballpark Kannapolis Cannon Ballers Stadium Review

The Ballpark Hunter pays a visit to Atrium Health Ballpark that is the new home of the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers who played the last 20 years as the Kannapolis Intimidators at Intimidators Stadium. The new ballpark is everything the old could never have been.
The Cannon Ballers new venue offers a wraparound concourse, suites, concourse loge areas, grass seating, and an outdoor bar stocked with beer, hard liquor, wine, and seltzers. There is even an organist who brings in a key element missing from most minor league ballparks today.
The stadium is located in a new development area that mimics a small downtown Main Street that features restaurants, shops, and other businesses. The parking is free, a splash pad and playground for kids, and merchandise has been selling out. The UNC Nutrition Research Institute campus buildings dominate the views beyond the outfield walls.
Our visit resulted in a wild game that saw the hometown Ballers being not hit in the 6th, then taking the lead, only to lose it in the 9th inning with two outs, but then walking it off on a misplay by the visiting shortstop. It was one heck of a good time at Atrium Health Ballpark.
