    Seriously could NOT have done this without you. Filing down the right side T25 bolt is genius. Thank you!!

      Hey I appreciate the feedback! I get lucky and come up with a good idea every once in a while :).

    So, completed my repair this morning. Taking the right side guide rail off is actually a lot simpler than it seems. No filing necessary. Just used a small pair of needle nose vise grips, and using hand pressure only (not locking them) to hold the upper machine screw, broke the tension loose on the lower then unscrewed the guide from the top screw with my fingers. Slid it down, took the broken bracket off, installed the new one and put it back together. All together about 10 minutes of work from the first to last screw turn. But probably could do it faster.

      Great job! The other side is where I needed to file down the screw head to get a wrench on it.

      @givemeanaxe Best reply ever! How did you manage to get it without filing down the top nut?

    Just adding my thanks for making this video. I thought no one could possibly have had this same problem much less made a video about it! Looks like this problem is more common than I thought. Any ideas why? Design flaw?

    • @PacMoto
      @PacMoto  Před 3 měsíci

      Seems like a design weakness. There are windshield reinforcement brackets that can be purchased.

    I was losing my rag and about to break that side cover.
    Good video and helped me replace the same broken bracket.

    I wanted to remove the TFT display, as the bolt is very inconveniently located, but I saw your video, thanks a lot for the instruction! I will try to do the same as you.

    • @PacMoto
      @PacMoto  Před rokem

      Yeah it’s easier to file that bolt down to get a wrench on it rather than remove the TFT. Replace it with a hex head bolt in case you ever need to do it again.

    Sir, I own a GS 1250 and would like to change my stock windscreen to a larger GSA windscreen. Could you make a video on this? Thanks! Marc, Quebec, Canada 🇨🇦

    • @PacMoto
      @PacMoto  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Yes, I will do that. It’s quite simple - if you look at your windscreen from the inside there is a T25 screw on each side. Remove those screws and then hold the screen from the front with both hands and lift off. Don’t worry, I’ll make a video.

    Can you tell me how did you get the screw from the right side out? I have to replace that bracket and i didn't quite understand how did you do it without removing the whole thing.

    • @PacMoto
      @PacMoto  Před 10 měsíci

      That is clearly a bigger challenge than the other side. I think the best way is to file the screw head flat on two sides so that you can get an open-end wrench on it. When you replace the screw, buy a flat head screw in case it ever happens again. I hope that helps.

    • @AlexLima-com
      @AlexLima-com Před 10 měsíci

      Yes it does, just need to figure out how to flatten that screw like you said.

    My winscreen has a little bit of play when i push it with my hands up and down , maybe 1 cm its not stiff steady , is it normal ?

    • @PacMoto
      @PacMoto  Před rokem

      That sounds pretty normal. Double check that the black plastic slider is not broken. This is the slider that rides up and down the stainless steel slider bar.
