honestly the basslines in the intro section of "better living through chemistry" are some of the best in modern rock music. its subtle in the way that its not like flashy in your face look at me, but its also so cool in that its not just rootnotes. it just snakes around the guitar line and i love it so much

The fact is infinity was a single released on the heavy metal 2000 sound track and hadn’t had much exposure yet and I doubt radio was giving it much airtime back then

WOW.... This is my theatrical show shown here.!!!!
I was a local theatrical guy and the band was club touring at the time. They didn't want to offer me any money ~at all~ and so I told them I wasn't going to do their show for free that I had a band after that and I didn't want to sit there for 6 hours running shows but could persuaded.... the situation took me for granted somehow since my show was pre-hung in the club for my local show scheduled for later that night at 9:45pm ((..This show footage had an 8pm curtain call ..aka. first note played..)) but they felt I should do it at no charge.. This show footage could had been spectacular had they just made it worth my while and not insult me.. I was the show everyone talked about at the time this was the big show.. But Queens of the Stone Age didn't know that.. so now that I see this footage years later ((..I do remember this Videographer setting up the cameras.. never dreamed I'd stumble upon it ever.. "wow"..)) so, at least this footage looked really kool and my minimal activity allowed the footage that underground rawness on film that it respectfully deserves in hindsight... This brings back good memories for me when I was at my once theatrical peek in my city... I'm at least thankful I was even good enough at theatrics to be the big local show playing there on the same night as their tour performance.. I'm pretty sure it was more Phoenix Hill Tavern's booking department that said they had a lighting guy.. "YEAH ME..!" volunteered by Phoenix Hill Tavern.. lol ...
Thanks for the memories Queens of the Stone Age. Next time shoot a brotha a 50 spot and say let's rock this. ..........and ya never know what that next door would look like.... keep it kool Stone Agers... I forgive ya and have since taken a liking to your music. Peace..

Josh just knows how to build and build through the concert . By the chorus of you can’t quit me baby you’re just in the zone right with him and it starts getting super intense .
He just gets rock and roll. Takes you on this emotional rollercoaster and his playing gets unbound and more free and almost to the point of chaos then he brings the riff back and gets right back in the song .
And nick Olivieri is ready for wherever josh wants to take it.
Musically josh never committed to this much exposure later, even when Dave grohl was drumming with them and they had dean and Troy to back him.
Something about nick on the bass just gives josh this confidence he can go anywhere with it .
Now I know after 15 years what nick meant when he said without him they are just queens of the Stone Age light

This is the raw sound and image that made them rock legends. Josh is a little off on the vocals on some songs, the guitar is a little out of tune, they are probably off their tits but it just adds to the awesome trainwreck this band was back in the day. Man they were good. Still are but back then they played like their lives depended on it.

Because it fucking did! They were all barely made a living off it. While Josh's is well of, he himself didn't had any other real perspective than pursue music because he's a highschool drop out. Well the other members financial sitation wasn't better either. Sadly or not, Queens had to go through the changes that it is went on to be there where are they now.
