      I believe that deciding to work at Harvard is knowingly bowing to those tenets. This is where identity politics have a negative affect: The doctor’s identity leads him to colluding with Harvard, where the corrosive and deceitful system is concocted daily. Maybe it's due to what Cornel West stands for and says in public?
      Remember, the intellectual class performs the critical function of gatekeeper so that the plutocracy and power class classes are looked after. The exceptions are tolerated in order to make it appear that academia has integrity.
      I would take it as a compliment or a badge of honour. A little bit like Chomsky and his daughter being refused entry into Israel a few years ago (even though they were welcomed in Palestine).
      People in the financial sector, as well as academia understand all too well, what Summers stands for and what his record is.

      The intellectual class performs the role of gatekeeper so that the rich maintain their advantages and unfair playing field. In the USA its particularly striking with about half of the country's engineers and scientists being directly employed by the military industrial complex.
      Academics in the political sphere and social sciences can have differing and even radical views, provided they aren't popularised by the mainstream media and dont get a firm foothold in social and alternative media etc.

      This request for tenure is 100% political. He was previously tenured and then when he came back, now he's not tenured? Sounds like it was possibly racial when he came back and they gave him a low-level position. I doubt if that would have happened to a white lib or a 'token' black person.

      @carbar3936 Před 3 lety

      @@Deescizzle West was never tenured at Harvard, but was a very popular Professor there He was tenured at Princeton (I think) but definitely not Harvard. Why he signed a 5 yrs. non-tenured contract to return to Harvard is odd, given those contracts doesn't even allow you to try for tenure. Once it's up, you're out no matter how great your performance is or how well you're liked. Unsure why he left Princeton for Harvard given the clash w/ Summers. And odd Harvard declined him consideration even when he should've never been able to apply. I love how West's mind works, but I also see his flaws.
      Despite one's IQ, pettiness of which he has plenty, extremely sensitive, quick to strike out, and other flaws I see doesn't always make a good co-worker. Whatever he stands for be it political, racial, etc, he's known forever these things has a cost & he's chosen to speak out rightly/wrongly anyway. A person's mouth can be their ruin. Was it his? Don't know, but hear he's a great lecturer & it's him unfortunately moreso than students that will pay the highest cost. My wish for him is he get tenured wherever he wants. He's too valuable to young people to sit on the sidelines & given who he is, his preferred salary should be mighty high. He said he wants to stay on east coast, so that eliminates HBCU's sans 1 or 2, but can they afford him w/out him getting a huge paycut???

They detailed their plot fairly well in the infamous Powell Memo of 1971, plotting to take control of education, media, politics and policies so they could push their agenda and run everything for their own benefit! It has all been done and more, silencing voices of dissent, squashing people power, busting unions, etc, and these sociopaths created the corrupt colluding Congress we have had for decades.

I am presently searching for a way, with the permission of Rome, to go beyond the actual lethargy of the Church which has list its ability to speak to the present generations.
