Not too sure what Sunny is referring to. The BBC must be receiving reporting from Palestine journalists. International journalists are banned from entering Gaza. Reporters there have no safe refuge and no way of leaving...with more than a dozen already killed in the fighting. Since 7 October, the Palestinian territory has been subjected to a veritable eradication of journalism. Since the blockade Israel imposed on Gaza 16 years ago, journalists cannot enter the Palestinian territory without authorization from Israeli authorities.
Alyssa doesn't want to shed any light onto what's happening to the Palestinians. It's quite shocking. Thousands of Palestinian people, especially children, should not have to pay the price of death because of the actions of a government that they did not vote in nor do they support.

All of the panel members have called for not dehumanizing Palestinians while condmening Hamas, unless you see somehow see condemning the horrific acts of Hamas that dehumanized the Isrealis they encountered as not being supportive enough. The land belongs to Jews and Palestinians. We can't redo the past, what we have today is Jews and Palestinians living on that land for generations. Of all people, Americans should grasp this. I'm an American. This land was stolen from Native Americans. Yet I can't go back to Africa to remedy this as my ancestors have been here for many generations. It's painful and unfortunate, but we have a new country in this land. The US. It's a beautiful country, where European Americans, African Americans, Native Americans, Hispanic Americans, Asian Americans, Arab Americans, can live together as one people.
This is what Jews and Palestinians need to build. Stop focusing on the past and what to get for their people. They need to give that up and become a new people in a new country. How they do that is up to them. But it can be done. And before they know it, they won't be able to imagine a world without their new country. I know I couldn't imagine a world without the US and my fellow Americans :) I wish the same comes true for Jews and Palestinians. Hate and violence can only take you so far, as evidenced by America's complicated history.
@@joehigashi3584 Many Native Americans attached great religious reverence to their land and European colonizers used Christianity to argue this land was rightfully theirs and Native Americans were savages in need of being civilized from their violent ways. And yet we figured it out. In fact many civilizations have figured it out over religious claims since the dawn of civilization. We rightfully criticize Russia for using the past going back to the founding of Russia to justify Ukraine being part of Russia. It's the 21st century. But somehow people don't do the same for Jews and Palestinians. What's the difference between Russia's claims going back a thousand years and Jews and Palestinians going back a few thousand years? Civilization and agriculture are at least 10,000 years old.
Nothing is particularly interesting about their conflict if you look at history. We do Jews and Palestinians a great disservice by getting caught up in their stories. It's the same old story with a new coat of paint. If we treat it as a unique, it will just lock them on violence.
