Though a writer of thrillers more than a writer of supernatural tales, Graham Greene nonetheless excelled at depictions of evil and terror - the villains of The Third Man and Brighton Rock are among the most evil creatures you can encounter in British film, for example. I've got a radio version of The Third Man on the channel if you're curious - but here is an adaptation of one of Greene's less familiar stories. As with his other thrillers, the story is shot through with a sense of unease even about the 'hero' himself. The title can seem grandiose in relation to the adventure within the story, but I think it points to a certain grandiosity inherent to those who have the power to wield fear over others...
MYSTERIOUS MAGPIE is a channel devoted to ghost and horror stories on British radio, and to dark tales of every kind. I have another channel, MYSTICAL MAGPIE, which is all about stories of fantasy, mythology, and adventure: / @mysticalmagpie-wo5fn

Oh, thank you! 😀♥️
Love Graham Greene and the BBC put quite a few dramatisations of his work over the years some are, sadly, no longer available. Looking forward to hearing more like these in the future. Thank you for uploading!!
The channel was originally about ghost and horror stories, but Graham Greene depicts Evil so well it's almost mythological at times. I don't know if there are many devils as authentic as Harry Lime - and on that note, I have already uploaded a radio version of The Third Man which you should be able to find on the channel if you've not already heard it...
Much obliged for this classic from a great writer!!!!!🙏😎☯️
Right ok!?
Great story!
Audio drama very good good actors. The ministry of fear is muçh better then other radio drama The Quite American which I didnt like thought it was tedious and very dull
