  • In a video of Miss M's 'The Object of Art' she has several questions about the Colorado Lounge that I might be able to answer.
    I have written down about twenty of her questions, which I will try to answer in no particular order.
    How big is room 237?
    Are there false doors in the corridor?

    I want to get lost in The Overlook Hotel.... not forever and ever, but for quite a long time for sure... There is always something new to be discovered 🙂
    The time and the space in The Overlook hotel are relative, just like in dreams...🙂

    Oh my GOOOOOOOOOD!!! This is incredible! So much to think about now. I'm going through all of your latest videos tonight. Might do a "Delta Coffee Break" soon. You need more people looking at this. It's genius! 🤗

      Thank you. Thank you.
      I'm completely embarrassed by so much admiration. I think I'll start the perculator to process all the compliments.. ;)

    Yeah I thought 237 is that huge.
    In the scene when Danny is playing with his toys on the orange rug, before he enters 237. This area seems bigger then the hall. Where do you think they filmed that scene? 😊

      There is the exit to the stairs that lead to the service corridor on the ground floor.
      This is all part of the Colorado Lounge set.

    Hi. I have a question but I don't know if you can answer it: where did Jack get the axe?

    • @deltabuilder
      @deltabuilder  Před 3 měsíci

      This is a very good question!
      I haven't heard any analyst ask this question yet.
      The very first moment Jack has an ax is in the kitchen when Jack is freed from the Storage Room by Grady.
      The first frame is of Jack walking along the kitchen table towards the service elevator, his leg dragging. It doesn't look like he's coming from the Storage Room, but from the direction of Chef's Office.
      I looked closely at all the scenes that take place in the kitchen, but I couldn't find an ax anywhere.
      The only place would be in the hallway of the freezer room, where a cupboard is built in. It says 'FIRE HOSE'. But there could be a fire ax in there.
      Great question.

      Are you referinng to the little scene where Jack limps around the kitchen before killing Hallorann?

    • @deltabuilder
      @deltabuilder  Před 3 měsíci

      Yes, exactly that one.
      It is the very first scene with an axe.

      @@deltabuilder Sorry, to disagree with you, but the first scene where the ax appears is in the scene where he breaks down the apartment door.

    • @deltabuilder
      @deltabuilder  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Yes, you are absolutely right.
      At the 'REDRUM scene, Jack comes through the front door of the Caretakers apartment is the first moment of the axe. Only when Danny is hiding does Jack walk through the kitchen with his axe.

    We only see one guest room in the movie and we know the others that are shown from the halls are fake and that could be figured out by an observant audience. What if that was the only guest room in the whole hotel? Maybe it's not a hotel. It's a Catholic version of purgatory and Jack must make it through the challenge of both God and Satan. Hell is death by fire. Purgatory is frozen death.

      In Stephen King's book, he wrote that the Overlook burned to the ground.
