  • After defeats against PSG and now Real Madrid, the big news at Barça is that Xavi is now open to continuing as Barça coach next season! Xavi has the full support of president Joan Laporta and it seems that Hansi Flick may no longer be an option.

I think, this is a good news. He values La Masia and has the ability to develop young talents for sure. Plus, at this stage, it won't be good to restart another project. It's already 9 years since we last one UCL and if we restart the project, then, this gap may just increase. I still believe that if Xavi has the players that he needs, then, I think he can get the most out of the players for the benefit of our club.

Having said that keeping Xavi at the helm, I still think that we can reduce that lead time. Say, if we bring in Klopp or Flick, they will need their own set of players, probably from ground zero. Plus, Klopp needed like 4-5 seasons to build Liverpool the way he wanted to build that team which was so competitive and won the UCL and Premier League and went toe to toe with Pep's Man City.

Right now we Barca are down bad,we lost 4-0 to Girona at home,we barely made it out of an easy group,we struggled against some weak teams in laliga, and teams from 3rd division in the copa del rey,we have lost to Madrid everytime,we were kicked out of Copa del Rey,and I can go on,we are basically bad.
Now since we now establish we are bad,we have almost nothing to lose,we should just go do the right thing,if we did decent job this season I wouldn't be calling for Xavi's exit but we didn't,Flick in his first season at Bayern won all the trophies I'm that season including the champions, and he took over Bayern in almost mid season.Flick is clearly better than Xavi,so why are you afraid of going for better option,do you think flick is gonna do a worse job than Xavi, hell no!

Flick is a monster, his playing style is effective, with few touches we are in the opposition box,we are constantly attacking, this is what we need, under Xavi we find it hard to even beat bottom teams, but with flick this would be basically easy, and not to talk of the physical preparation of flick too.
People like to focus on the national team but national is much complicated than club team,in national team when the team is bad it's difficult to build and that's why you need more time in national team to build a proper team, because you constantly changing your squad, some lose form, some don't,and you also don't get to know your players and your players don't really get to understand your style.National coaching is much complicated especially when the team is already broken, don't let that time at the national team make you think flick is bad coach,he literally won 6 trophies in his first season,he was unbeatable in Europe, and domestically.

Jamie that is the best news so far this week for me...Xavi staying means the continuation of this club project instead of starting from scratch...let's remember where we were 3 years ago with Koeman ..I don't think it's necessary to take our foot of the paddle now( even though we are stuttering at times and it's annoying I will admit that)..
Vitor Roque , Mike Faye, Hector Fort ,Fermin and Lamin will progress this team further next season ..now we must be brave and make one or two big sales and LaPorta and Deco to balance Xavi's team with a pivot and a LW ...Xavi is best for me personally for next season while we wait for Pep or Luis Enrique in 2025

    • @user-kw7sq6hq4n

To add to this ..I honestly hope Xavi gets back 2022 Balde next season and maybe it's time to cash in on Frankie and Ansu as we will be getting Gavi back next season...Cancelo is proving the weakest link in the latter part of the season..and by the way he was good for the most part but let's admit against average attackers, we can secure his loan for one more season but that's as far I would go with him at Barca...
I look at the season we've had with a lot more optism after this hard week that we've had..for one we look like we are getting back to the 1-1 rule for FFP with things on the pipeline ..secondly we integrated high quality youngsters to the team whom I think will be better next season now that they have somewhat experienced big matches and the ability to up their mentality next season is really looking for our beloved Barca..
Let trust Xavi one more season and we will be fine from what I can take away this season...Lol see Barca faithful it won't happen overnight for us to be back at the top..its a process and I think we closer to the finished product than we think..for me it's not necessary to start a new project with a new coach at this point..Visca Barca💙💜

It seems like the board is always trying to do their own thing like when it comes to signings for example, I doubt xavi is pushing for a move on Dani Olmo. The way I feel it should work is that Xavi should feel like he could walk up to the board and say “hey, I need a DM. This is the type of player I’m thinking of.” Then the board comes back and says “ok but also here’s our scout reports on a couple DMs. We want to know what you think.” Then between the two they sign a player which they feel is the best.

There was alot of skepticism when Pep took over his first season. A lot of you probably were babies but He didn’t have the resume back then and yet he surprised everyone .
Now I’m not saying he will do that but chances must be given, did anyone expect Xabi Alonso to be doing so good right now ? Jesus , I didn’t expect Barca fans to be so toxic / ignorant.

what Xavi has done within a short period with Barca is underrated. yes there have been times his decision making has been questionable but considering he doesnt have a huge budget to buy new players, multiple key injuries throughout the year and mainly relying on young teenage La Masia players, i think he should stay and see out his contract. you can see this man is there for the love of the club. I just hope to see more chances given to Roque.
a manager cant be forced into winning the league as soon as he joins a club, but Xavi managed to do that on his first full season with the club. with more time and hopefully more resources (and more experience from the young players), I believe we will be back.

I do think we need change at the club because as much as Xavi has had good games as manager like the psg first leg, there have been many similar instances where he hasn’t been able to react and get his tactics right to help us win games but at the same I’m not sure who’s the best suited to replace him given the club situation. If Xavi has learnt from this season to improve and work with the resources he has and improve his in game management I’m not against him staying for now. We’ll see for the future in the next season

His January announcement was done purely to remove any sort of pressure from the club and the players (and of course himself). Now that all major competitions are done for Barca, there will be no more pressure on them, he announces that he might stay. As you said Jamie, the timing of this is very interesting 😉

I prefer Xavi to stay too. We have been seeing consistency in our defense except for right back (Balde will be back next season). Mid field is amazing and always better with Pedri, Gundogan, Frankie, and Gavi. Lamine Yamal is awesome; Raphina is also motivated and Lewa is Okay too. With some clever and cheaper signings for our lineup (especially for left wing) for next year our team is solid. With financial restrictions to buy new players, I prefer Xavi to continue as we probably wont be able to sign high profile Coaches.
I kind of think that Xavi has created a stronger version of young Barca that has high potential for next year so I wont be surprised if other high profile coaches want to take the job for next season. This current team is full of La Masia talent that will rule Europe for years!

The 2nd being there are no replacement for him for a long term project Nagelsmann has signed an extension that leaves only Flick which I would love at the club but then again would we be able to provide him with the player he wants and if not will he be as understanding as Xavi is.
