My favorite of all the narrowboats I’ve seen on this channel. I dream about it!

Agreed best boat I’ve seen. Simply love it. I keep comparing other boats to this one and they all seem to come up short. Guess if I ever have cash this would be a good template to design a boat from. Tyler Wilson hull with a hybrid electric engine and this interior maybe I might add a Pullman dinette with settles for seating.

That is the very best layout I've ever seen, so much space in not the longest boat - cleverly designed for multiple sleeping spots ! The skylight thingys make the rooms so much bigger too, altho I would refer light painted woodwork instead of the 'woody' look !

Farrow and Ball colours tastefully used here, contrasting nicely with the solid oak. Love the pidgeon boxes. Theodoric needs an owner who appreciates beauty, quality and olde world charm.

It’s simply perfect. It looks both individual and practical and will look great for years to come a few minor knocks of reclaimed wood won’t detract from its beauty. Many narrowboat interiors have used machined wood that looks like it’s been made in a factory. This has warmth and character. Every space is a delight and serves a purpose. It seems much longer than 57ft

There is so much to truly love about this boat. It just oozes a warm inviting cottagy charm. I love the hull colors and the large rivets. The use of natural wood and high quality paint, tongue and groove wood and lets not forget the two wonderful pigeon boxes. Having said all this, there are one or two things that don't make sense to me. First is the Heritage stove. It juts out almost in the passageway, like it was figured into the scheme as an afterthought. I'd also want to know, can you isolate the radiators while you cook on it; I'd sure hate to be heating up the boat in the summertime. Also, the oven is tiny, no hope of cooking a Thanksgiving turkey in there. I may be wrong, but does it take a long time to heat up food in a pan? I think I would much prefer a regular gas hob. Secondly, having a dishwasher seems a bit of a waste, unless you are moored up in a marina most of the time and have power to burn. There is no solar installed or travel generator, for 90 grand I think I would want a Travel Generator to run the Washing Machine. Don't get me wrong, this boat is one of the very nicest out there, but I would likely ditch the stove, convert to an Eberspacher system, install a Gas Hob stove. Having said this, I might elect to keep the stove if it proved to be efficient in cooking food, but again, the oven appears tiny.

There are many, many things to love about this boat, the woodwork, walk thru bathroom, door latches, stunning reclaimed elm, painted tongue and groove, belfast sink, stunning saloon and cratch seating area, low time on engine, charming pigeon boxes etc. But one thing to me stood out as a negative which really should have been a positive, perhaps I am wrong? The Heritage Stove which offers a beautiful focal point to the boat to me, has two negatives. One, it seems there is really only room to place one pot at a time onto the cooking surface, perhaps you could squeeze two tiny ones there. Secondly, how would you cook in the summer without heating up the whole boat? Perhaps there is an isolation valve to the radiators? One other negative, it appears the bed does not have an extendable width. Still, this boat has so many positives, one may easily overcome these concerns.

      @MrSheckstr Před 3 lety

Only thing I can think of is a lot of electrical devices set atop the counter when in use. And I can’t see the point to it. Your gas free but you have a coal stove?
Only can guess they don’t do a lot of cooking and that coal stove is more for ambience instead of serious heating .
And going back to the stove, it does seem odd because I have seen diesel stove that both cook and heat a room and the have multiple burners so I can’t understand this. Looks more like something you would see port of the back steps in the boatman’s cabin than the main galley

I’m not sure it needs much doing to it. It looks close to my idea of perfection. 😊 maybe a few tilting solar cells rather than stick on type which may mean a repaint of top part of roof.

This is one of the most attractive narrowboat fit outs I’ve ever seen 😊 I simply adore it. My perfect dream narrow boat would be on a Tyler Wilson hull like this, have a hybrid engine with a large leisure battery bank and have a Pullman dinette (which looked like two settles ) and a single fixed cabin for my son. Everything else would be the same as this video or very close excluding the length which would obviously need to increase given my wish list. It’s like a stunning floating cottage. The wood colour is spot on reminds me of attractive Dutch barges.
I’m going to take screen shot of link and plan just incase I win the lottery 😂🤣😂 well my neighbour has won 4.5 mill he is still living next door over a year later 😂🤣😂 so if he can win lottery guess anyone can lol
Perfection whoever owns this boat must be very pleased.
I think oakcraft boats has folded but Jim Birch works as a soul trader out of Weedon for those who win the lottery. Think he been responsible for several Crick boat show wins . Amazing boat such a joy to view video 😊

The price is only the price of a new range rover or porsche etc and there are loads of them etc
For someone seeing their house and or downsizing etc as expensive as it is a lot of people can put their hand on that type of dough

57ft considered standard length for narrowboats. Some are as long as 70ft 😮 and some as tiny as 25ft Same principle applies short or long. Best to get helmsmans course first before taking any purchase out.

hand fitted wood, aga cookers aren't cheap, wonder if the owner thought it was his forever boat then found different. I have never seen an aga cooker in person, how do cook in the summer if it puts out heat at all times? do you shut it off and not cook?

I stayed in a home in Australia, North Queensland, many years ago in summer so arourd 35 degress celcius or 95 degrees fahrenheit and it had one of these and it was on and I was equally surprised it was no hotter than a normal oven. There is a lever that you move to compensate for the season, you either retain the heat or you get rid of it.
