    I came up with another use for my Milwaukee M18 Top Off 2846-20. Have you ever had a car that won't start? Either because it is partially disassembled and you dont want to remove the battery and bring it into the shop to charge it. Or you dont want to just Jumpstart it and overwork the alternator trying to charge it. I deciced to put a 12 amp hour battery on my M18 top-off and grab my PL2320 and PL2410 chargers and see if the Milwaukee M18 Top Off would power them. Will it? If so, how long? Watch and see!

    Nice brother. Just killed my top off with 2 years of daily use on the job site. Milwaukee said send it back and they'll send me another. That's customer service.

      What else have you used it for other than the usual phone and battery charging? Great that Milwaukee stands behind their product like that.

    You could just use your Milwaukee battery to jump start your car without having to use a car charger. I've done it in an emergency and it works fine. You could actually disconnect your car battery and hook up your Milwaukee battery the 5.0 and that's enough to start a 4-cylinder car directly

      If you watched the video, he explains that there's situations (waiting on an alternator or serpentine belt) that'd you'd want to pre-charge your battery so the alternator isn't doing all the work.

    The only thing that could have made this test better is if you had a Kill-a-watt or other current measuring device hooked up to the top off. When your charger sat at 95%, I wonder if it was really putting out 10amps, or if it was slow charging the remainder.

      That's a good point. I noticed these chargers do that all the time. I will try measuring the output and let you know. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    So I guess it's safe to say you can use this to charge 6.0, 8.0 and 12.0 batteries using a rapid charger? What about a super charger? I guess it all depends on how many watt hours it takes. I Just bought a super charger but haven't taken it out of the package yet,. I'm thinking about returning it and buying one of these top off units so I can take it with me and charge the batteries for my milwaukee weed eater nd leaf blower when i'm out mowing lawns.

    Can handle up to 10 Amps? I want to run an XPOWER electric air duster off of it: 18 V DC, 175 W so around 9.7 Amps.

    Out of curiosity, do you know if this will charge the battery if plugged into the car? I know the M12 version will but not sure if this one will

      I haven't tried but my guess is no. It runs off a 18volt battery and cars are a 12volt system. If it does let me know. Thanks for watching.

    Is someone can explain ?. At 50 sec..we see the Inverter capacity that show that a 12ah (12000 mah) battery can charge 12x a phone . In realty a Phone has at least a 3000 mah battery then it can charge only 4x max In my opinion .

    • @shanersmechaniclife3164
      @shanersmechaniclife3164  Před rokem +1

      They probably used a phone with a smaller battery capacity. I'll see if I can find more detailed specs.

      @creightonjoebrown Před rokem

      You have to take into account voltage...18v @12ah = 216watt hours...cell phone is 3.7v @ 3ah or 12 watt hours... 216/12 = 18 with losses...12 recharges is realistic

    Would love to see a video testing the ability of charging a 12v car battery directly from a Milwaukee battery.
    A batteries charging voltage is always higher than the rated voltage of the battery. Much like water flowing from high pressure to low. With lead acid being very forgiving i don't see any issues with this as far as I understand.
