  • Get comfortable and ready to sit for the next 30 minutes.
    Relax and close your eyes.
Breathe some deep breaths all the way in and all the way out, at least 3, but don't force it, just keep your attention on the breath and feel yourself inhale as much as is comfortable then exhale slowly as much as is comfortable.
Now imagine that encircling you as you sit, are some different coloured lights.
Some of these lights are blurry, some are distinct, some travel fast some travel slow.
The amount of them become more frequent until you are encircled by a swooshing mixture of different coloured lights from which some faces and figures can be discerned.
Some of the faces reach out of the stirring and begin to sing to you.
    That's it !

    How it happened:
This was a free-flow, an improvisation with Ableton Live.
This video is a raw insight into one of my creative processes. I wasn't aware of what was being said whilst singing it, so if anyone knows what languages I'm speaking here hmu! There is definitely some English in there at some point.
I really find this method of creation fascinating, when I am open to create something like this, because I really have no idea what I'm saying or what is coming out whilst i'm doing it. The process is more like an unfolding... and when I listen to it back with intent, I can hear tangible messages, which I have reasoned to be aspects of consciousness wanting to reach out and permeate various perspectives throughout spacetime. So whoever this reaches, it is somehow for you. I usually dislike wishy washy phrases like this, but I feel like the openness of it can access people in such a universal way, much like water, that if you give it a chance you will find something in it.
I started with an empty Ableton live project and loaded up a looper channel.
I then played a sample from the picked nylon guitar pack and set it to repeat on loop. From there I hit the djembe, and a tibetan singing bowl and then used the laptop as a third/fourth instrument for my vocals and nylon guitar, making new channels, routing, loopers, adding effects and trying to mix it as I go.
I will refine aspects of this at some point, although it is somewhat captivating and lifts my mood in its current state.
My next steps will be to practice the parts that work, stitch them together, decipher the lyrics, re-cipher them, and then play it to the plants, because they seem to appreciate it!
