Perhaps there is not actually any character by the name of Able planned to be shown in the show, Able instead being yet another pun: Because Cain in the bible killed able, it's perhaps a sort of extended metaphor for how Caine is "un-able" to create an exit, perhaps representing how God then cursed Caine and his descendants. They cannot escape the simulation and "be" with god, who in this case is the human or humans responsible for creating the digital circus. This also has implications for the characters in the show - we are told they are human, yet none of them can actually remember details about their human lives. Furthermore, if these characters are stand-ins for cain's descendants in the bible, that probably means they are AI's like Caine, but AI's made to believe they're human. This is reinforced by the way Caine generates a new name for each of the characters, rather than letting them choose their own name, and also in how the characters can get "abstractified". Perhaps Caine figured out a way to scan and upload an AI copy of a human user's consciousness and replicate it in the game because people stopped playing. This doesn't necessarily mean it would harm the original human. Another thing that is suspect is the number of characters in the show. We assume from memories of the office space that C&A is a dying company. If this is the case, probably nobody plays the game anymore. As such, how did Caine obtain a brain scan of the human players to create an AI copy? Perhaps this is because the Headset was *always* scanning the brains of users as a shady side-business from launch, and it was this very same practice that is causing C&A's death; again, another similarity to the story of Cain and able. We can also assume that Caine was probably already aware that Cosmo had abstractified, as he isn't present in the opening - who placed the sign in the game space if not Caine? and coincidentally at this exact same moment, Pomni appears, another clown character, almost to replace cosmo. This is further reinforced by all the doors, upon which we see similiar characters to existing ones (e.g, queen-er) who we assume are abstractified. The characters could only be replaced on such a quick basis if Caine had access to a large database of brain scans.

Another candidate for who Abel could be that I have heard is Bubble. Their names rhyme, Bubble is very much connected to Caine, and we often see Caine popping her, which is eerily similar to killing her.

I didn't see popping Bubble as killing her, I always thought it was despawning her since she's pretty much an NPC. She doesn't seem to really feel any pain from it though, probably just immediately pops back up somewhere else that's away from Caine.
I'm pretty sure Bubble is male which actually adds to the possibility
One thing that comes to mind is that Jax says that Kinger has "supposedly been [there] the longest, that's why he's crazy". Later in the pilot, Kinger is able to give a concise explanation as to how eating in the digital realm works and what sensations are experienced. This brief moment of lucidity leads me to believe that Kinger may be a more important character than at first glance. Perhaps Kinger is Abel gone mad from years in the Digital Circus?

@@animator2242 you think Kingers real name was actually Abel? That seems very unlikely. Purple Palace (a real game similar to digital circus) came out in 2007. So that's about the timeframe of the show. Which means Kinger would have been born between 1970 - 1990. Names were WAY more copy and paste back then so Kingers name actually being Able is very unlikely.
I guess it could happen with religion being more prevalent than it is now. But his parents picking Abel over any other biblical name is also highly unlikely.
@Asura465 I'm mean, people don't always know that names have certain biblical meanings. And their names being references to the Bible is just for symbolism purposes. It's not likely that their parents named him for Bible sakes.
One theory I came up with just this morning is that Pomni is immune to becoming abstracted, that she is an exemption to the one constant in the Digital Circus. This is because she is a jester. Jesters served kings as entertainers, and were exempt from the same rules as the other servants. A jester may mock a king, or perform acts of mischief that would get any other person killed.
Pomni being a jester may allow her to go over her breaking point and come back unscathed, and we see this happen twice. One where she broke during the exit door scene and during the ending.
i think it's of note that ragatha says "really terrible *can* happen" not does, her wording is of note because as she says that line we can see based on her execution of the line that she's already had more than enough stress to not only get to a breaking point before, but that describing that risk calls up a memory for her *of hitting a breaking point.* it may be that it only happens a small fraction of the time?

Hopefully all of these theory's are true.
A few thoughts:
1. I am pretty sure that Caine was stated not to have evil intentions.
2. The characters were never stated to have lost all their memories, just memories of their names. One thing that very strongly supports this is that Pomni and all the rest seem to remember how they got in. Maybe they remember experiences but forget anything that made those experiences personal, like names, faces, or other details. We will have to see how the memory thing is handled later in the show.
3. Kinger is almost certainly a dev. He seems to be highly intelligent and have a lot of knowledge. I hope we at least get a glimpse of what he could do if he were sane.
There is so much mystery thrown at us in just a pilot ! I'm really excited to see more of the characters, their personality and of course of the LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEE !!!

I have my own theory here: they all have to be kidnapped, because if they had been there for YEARS, then they would have straved to death or dehydrated a long time ago. There are two ways this could have happened: one, someone put a tacker in the headset since most people aren't going to use it in public; they went home with it and immediately got trapped; then they wanted to pick them up; or two, some guy has a video game store and has a basement large enough to house them all because you need a discreet place to hide them all.
Another theory is that time moves differently in a VR environment. This has been proven in experiments when someone was locked in a room for 1 hour in a blank white room and said it felt like years passed, so they might be part of an experiment themselves to see how long someone can stay trapped there until they lose their mind seeing what people do in a VR environment. As to who authorized this, I'm not sure who exactly it could be-the government or some sickos on the dark web trying to exploit people for views. Since not a lot of people went missing, the police might not have connected the dots, or they were kidnapped at home with great distance between them. Heck, they might all speak different languages, but the game automatically translates what they are saying. This theory doesn't hold a lot of weight.

In the game and he didn't say it wasn't important just that, they only get the sensation of eating without the benefits, they have to be feed if their not copies and real people they would have straved to death by now

Because what Pomi said was that she put on a VR headset and that it was werid, which might be that it's a special case. How she got the headset also remains to be seen.
But the computer at the end of the pilot shows the headset someone put on. But no body.
I have a question: What did Pomni see in the void? My thought of what she saw: She saw her human form, who is hypnotized while wearing the VR headset.
My prediction is that all the characters are digital copies of people who played the game. That's why they can't leave, abstraction means their files are too Corrupted to keep functioning, and Caine is another program to manage them or is a digital avatar of a programmer

Damn good theory! I personally think, cut out the middle, their all generated AI like Caine but more refined and adaptive to where they are.
This was definitely a game originally, so npc's were incorporated, so why not make them as smart as the players
Now I am getting behind the C&A representing “Cain(e) and Abel”, but Gooseworx has confirmed that Caine actually is not evil, so I’m not too sure if the actual events of the Bible story have also played out here.
In fact, due to their names being similar, I kind of think Bubble could be Abel and might actually even be the real “villain” of the story. It’s dumb and weird, but it’s all I got.
these are very well researched writers so they may know that the cain and abel story was an inversion of a story where the cain figure was actually the hero, so you never know!
@@CartoonUniverse I have a headcanon/fantheory that Bubble is meant to act as the "I want to leave now" option. Since Caine is basically the Guide you'd see in a Point-and-Click game, probably also creating the pause menu too, Bubble might just be the nifty mechanic used to leave.
All you gotta do is pop Bubble, then you're home free!
Of course, there will be SO MANY "Are you sure about that?" prompts to convince you to stay in the Cirus.
But that's just an idea. A FILM IDEA!

At the end, Kinger is the one explaining about the food not being needed as it only gives them the digital feeling of food. Then he doesn’t remember saying it.

I have a theory
Since Kinger is the character that has been in the circus the longest, and seemingly knows more of the place that the others, perphabs he's the creator of the program
I got to say this. I really love that people are now using and the rise biblical elements into their stories and lore. It's making things very interesting and depth.

I’ve been waiting for a vid on this. The final scene at the table is reminiscent of the last supper, and putting pomni in the middle implies she is supposed to be a Jesus like savior.
To be fair the real life Caine could have been Kinger who is the oldest out of the gang and Abel being Queenie who we know most likely abstracted because of her door having a red x over it so this could actually be what's going on because I don't think taking the possible Bible reference so literally is what the team was going for but who knows.

@CartoonUniverse, hey so I was thinking what if Jax was trying to find the exit door the entire time he was there? I mean why does he have a key to every ones room? And when they saw Kaufmo abtracted was Jax scared so he ran off? And when Cain put Kaufmo into the thing (I forgot what it was called) Jax was in a fighting position for some strange reason.
That would be scary and cool if the Digital Circus is used as Cain’s prison, which would then make it harder to peg down whether Caine is just doing his best to keep all the residents from being abstracted and really doesn’t know how to get them out or if he’s intentional keeping them there.🤔
I could see Kinger as at least being very important to the creation of the Digital Circus if he doesn’t wind up being Abel.🤔

The Cain and Abel thing is pretty much cinched by the C&A logo. What it means if anything beyond a surface literary reference is anyone's guess. I've also heard a video speculate that Bubble is the Abel. And considering how Caine is constantly popping him, well...
But Kinger does also make sense. I've also heard him talking about "insect collections" being him misremembering the term for bug reports.
The King is also the most important piece in chess, and Abel would be the most important character in terms of lore. Then, every King needs their Queen, so to speak, so the Queen might have been his wife.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought of Cain and Abel when that logo popped up!

While I did initially also assumed that Caine is an AI- but I do have second guesses after checking the Wacky Watch website, where there is a person there which is referred to as "Caine". Not sure if it meant to be canon, however.
Interesting theory although I'm not fully on board with it, lets just see what happens next
Honestly my theory is the whole cast of characters are npc's procedurally generated by a game that has one operational sever left (the PC). Each one of the characters is a learning AI similar to that of Caine except they have only one basic memory; putting on an old headset that took them to this world. Their obsession with taking it off is rooted in their self-awareness as any normal player would be able to take it off, but They can't. AS they keep tring to get out they get Abstracted/Corrupted

Ok I am getting seriously angry at my recommended for not putting this video there for 3 days. I love this theory so much, Cartoon Universe!!!!!!!!! I might be over reacting but this might be the best TADC theory I've ever seen so far! A lot of people are saying, if the Abel theory is correct, he's either Bubble or Kinger, which would make so much sense. I think Caine would have eventually gotten sucked into the game himself, though, eventually. Like Kinger, he seems to know something that we don't. But I won't get too far into it like I normally do though lol, I think this is my favorite theory from you, and I can't wait to hear your next theory and for the show to come out so we have more things to put together!!!!

I have a theory where C&A literally just means "cannot avoid" as avoid means that you can escape by just avoiding the software c&a makes and eventually you just put on the headset and then, you just cannot escape.
