Excellent! One update for the newer Swiffers: there are no holes in the newer motors. But using your info that the motor was likely seized, I simply knocked the handle of my screwdriver on the side of the motor a few times to jar it awake, then tried pushing the switch and voila! The motor worked again, and solution sprayed all over my pants! Hey, you didn't warn me about that! Hah... Thank you, thank you!!

It’s alive! 😂 My Swiffer WetJet broke several years ago. I kept thinking I should throw it away, but I kept finding cleaning pads and solution I’d stored away! Unfortunately, mine wasn’t as easy to open as yours. I had to pull it out of the top of the unit and then get it all back together correctly, but thanks to your video I was able to understand the problem was in the motor and what that looked like! 😊🙌🏻 I couldn’t get to the bottom of the motor to put the tape on so I’ll just have to remember to take the bottle of cleaning fluid out when I’m not using it!

Sir, how do I remove the motor unit. Have tested on/off switch works fine. Power is going from battery to motor. Motor and pump is an enclosed unit, how do I open it. Thank you. Regards rb

Did NOT work, it made it worser to be honest with you, it had the motor but has no gap to see the nozzle so don’t know what happened there. Plus, couldn’t even put that lid back on, wouldn’t recommend. I’m going to have to buy a new one now.

      Hi Eliana,
apparently tapping the Motor with a Screwdriver handle can sometimes revive the Motor if it’s the type does not have the hole in the side.
Slightly confused by parts of your comment as if the unit is not working how could you possibly make it worse ? And if the unit is not working why struggle with the cover ? Many people in the my comments have been successful and some not, I offered no guarantee of success 😀.
