First loss of the entire season; not sure if this counts as a league game or not but u can tell Spire was tired. Melo was the only star player from Spire playing to his potential. Too many close games crammed in a short window. I’m actually surprised they lasted this long without a loss. But oh boy from the other squad was gettin buckets forsure.

I got a chance to play against him when he was a freshman at Morgan Park he’s the real deal
They lost because Melo doesn't play defense.. he doesn't get back on D. He plays lazy defense as well, so with proper ball movement the opposing team will always get a wide open shot because Melos not covering someone.
It's crazy to see how wide open they could get a man... All game long.
And on the other end of the floor Spire couldn't breathe, they played tight defense all game.
With things going that way... As long as you convert on your wide open shots, it's inevitable that you'll start to pull away in the game.
When athleticism is evenly matched... Kids need to listen to there coaches when they say Defense wins games.
