Give the song "White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane a listen, for a '60s psychedelic rock bands, take on the story.
The forbidden fruit among Disney movies is "Song of the South," as it was never released on VHS/DVD in America. You can sing "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah." You can ride Splash Mountain, but there's no Uncle Remus in sight; tackle that movie.

My all time favorite Disney movie! I have always loved the character complexity of this movie, the Cheshire Cat especially. They're never really good or bad, except for the Queen of Hearts, of course, but they each have such developed personalities. It's also that rare Disney movie where you have a main female character that is just her quirky self without chasing after a prince. Don't get me wrong, I love, love, love Disney princess movies, but it took Disney a very long time to get back to this type of female protagonist.

It's amazing to me how Walt was able to convince broadcasters to air his specials on TV, when he knew that these TV shows would help promote his product/services. He was truly an Innovator, and I often wonder how he would approach social media today.
I'm glad you mentioned something about the peter pan songs.

like everyone else, I am really enjoying this series so far! Honestly I'm kind of torn about whether I like the film Alice in Wonderland (the scene with the clams always freaks me out) but I really appreciate all the iconic scenes and characterizations. I had no idea it was pretty unsuccessful until it became a cult favorite later on! I would love for you to do Peter Pan next. That story has some of the most interesting impacts on pop culture in my opinion--there are SO many interpretations and imaginings of it. Plus it was referenced a couple times in this video so I feel like it'd be a natural step for the next installment :)

One of my favorite things about Alice is the line "don't just do something, stand there" I am always quoting that. Just the whole nonsense of the Tea party scene really. A lot of great lines in there! I'm hoping for a Hunchback of Notre Dame Down to Disness soon! :)

I love the song the Cheshire Cat sings! it's called Jabberwocky and its a poem from through the looking glass, it has been put to music for choirs and of course the Cheshire Cat. I sang and studied this piece in chorus last year, it's weird nonsense words are really fun and the choir versions involves a lot of weirdness but I loved preforming it - you should listen to that version :)
I would love to see the controversies on both Pocahontas' next on the series, thanks for making these I think they're totally brilliant!

Dec 2020 people! This was the 2nd episode that I watched and I instantly fell in love with this series. After watching the Frozen episode, I appreciate it much more for several reasons:
    1. These take a hell of a lot of time to make because there is so much research behind, and you can tell Sarah does the work!!
    2. Even if she studied it, she sounds incredibly natural on camera.
    3. She is just a Disney geek talking about her passion and giving her opinions. Plain and simple. And it blows my mind how much she enjoys it.

I'm never really able to watch this movie cause on my first trip to Disney, I went on the Alice dark ride(the very first dark ride I went on, mind you) and got scarred for life. My parents claim I was crying and screaming bloody murder in between my grandparents, and to this day I get slight anxiety going on the dark rides, or even just being in the park very long past close.
Of course now having read the books and watched both this version and the Tim Burton remake, I can appreciate it, but it'll never be high on my list of favorites.

In the novel, there was a Knave of Hearts who was on trial of stealing tarts from the Queen. The Doormouse also scolds Alice for her accidental size-shifting. The Mad-Hatter even annoyed the King via indirect answers. Worse, after accidentally knocking a box with her friends, she had to argue with both the King AND Queen, refusing to before the Queen tried to behead her. Good thing the Studio changed that. However, I still view the Queen of Hearts much scarier than Lady Tremain from Cinderella which was released the previous year.

I love the Alice in Wonderland movie, but I really couldn't tell you why! Maybe because each time I watch I am still confused as ever when its done! Or when I make a friend who has never seen it before watch it, hilarious reactions. I really enjoy this series! I love learning new things I didn't know about my favorite Disney films! Cannot wait for next time!

I'm loving these videos. All sorts of info I had no clue about. I'll be honest, Alice in Wonderland weirded me out when I was a kid. But now watching it as an adult, I love the film so much. It's so different and imaginative.
    Sleeping Beauty next?

My favourite thing about It is that without it becoming a movie with a great soundtrack I wouldn't have been able to perform as alice on the stage👍

I love this series so much! The music is a huge reason why I love the film and it's overall fun and simple and light in story since it's supposed to be nonsensical.
Definitely try doing Peter Pan or The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh for the next Down to Disness
