      Andrew's isn't just a character, he was a real person.
      He was a notoriously humble man who had humble beginnings and didn't forget his roots.

      One of the few wealthy people who weren't portrayed as villans in the movie. In the real even many 1st class passengers helped others into the lifeboats, some even sacrificing themselves in the process.
      But oh well, nothing like rich man James Cameron complaining about the rich 😂

    The musicians -- how they stayed there playing till the end, to help calm everyone during a tagic time, caring more about the others than their own safety -- now that was heroism right there! RIP ❤

      The Night to Remember movie was based on the book by Walter Lord. He had interview numerous Titanic survivors.

    Thomas Andrew’s prob got the best portrayal because eye whiteness accounts spoke very highly of him and how he risked everything to try to save as many as possible

    I read that book and watched that movie before Cameron’s. I always thought that’s how the ship went down. I think everyone thought it just went down on a slope (diagonally). Cameron showed the reality which was far worse for the people on the ship.

      Yeah but with Cameron his idea of the ship going down in half was just a Theory as he said but in the 58 version they interviewed most of the Titanic survivors and eye witnessed however most did say that they didn't see the ship as it was so dark out no one can tell and there was no moonlight or nothing with James he only interviewed the children that survived by there parents that got them off the ship now I think 1 or 2 of them were only infants at the time all they got to say was what there parents told them which still doesn't give a whole clearer picture but whose to know if ots the truth or untruth maybe mere excaduration. (Sorry).

      @@QuiGonJinn1993there are ways to figure out that it broke in half besides whether there survivors saw it happen (because it was a black moonless night so they wouldn’t have seen it). They just wouldn’t have known until they wreck was found, now that it’s been found it’s clear what happened based on a number of factors including the boat being in two pieces a half mile apart on the ocean floor, the clean break, and the fact that only the stern imploded.

    Far-fetched as soon of these scenes seem, they are based on fact! I read an account the other day about a passenger who broke down a door to try and rescue a woman who was trapped in her cabin, and a steward yelled at him for damaging White Star Property. 😅 And people were sadly crushed by that falling funnel. What a way to go.

    Titanic (1997) in my opinion had excellent scenes, but A Night To Remember (1958) was the better movie overall.

      It's the most historically accurate version when it comes to survivor accounts and several people who were on the real Titanic assisted with the production

    The first one is based on a book, a book that was based off the recollections of memories of those who survived.
    The second is based on the same historical events. It’s not a copy of the movie, they are showing what really happened, in both.

    Believe it or not i like the sinking in a night to remember more except the fact all the funnels didn’t collapse and she didn’t break apart but they didn’t believe she broke in half at the time

      Well, in 1958, to construct a ship and have it split in half would require far more work at a fraction of the cost than the CGI used in the Titanic.
      Hence, A Night to Remember was more limited in the scope of what they could have portrayed..
      A night to remember is the better movie.

      I actually prefer A Night to Remember. It may not be as accurate as it might have been, but I love how it has more of a focus on the crew, passengers, and most of the well known survivors as apposed to a romantic love story focused on two fictional characters. It feels a lot more horrific to me, and having it be in black and white with all the creepy cheap sound effects of the sinking just felt more authentic

      @@smarkmalark A Night to Remember is one of the most definitive accounts of the disaster. It is by far the better of the two films in my opinion. When the film was made in 1958 it was not known then that the ship spilt in two.

    Titanic tells a better fictitious story but Night To Remember seems to be a more accurate acount of the sinking aside from the breakup of the ship.

      Why? Titanic is literally more focused on two people that didn’t exist, they were the main attraction! Yes a night to remember had Kenneth more as the main attraction but at least they didn’t focus on him all the time!

    That's not scenes from Titanic, that was inspired by the night to remember, that's real life events that were in both Titanic movies. People tend to forget that this is a real life tragedy, not a hollywood movie.

    A Night to Remember had more engaging performances from all the actors , while James Cameron paid attention to detail, the actors gave band 1 dimensional performances,example Molly Brown, the Captain, etc, also not one mention of the Californian, only to give more screen time to Jack n Rose.

      @@Tevi_L7151Several survivors testified that they saw or heard or saw and heard the ship break in half. It’s just that the senators gave more weight to Second Officer Lightoller and Third Officer Pitman who both testified they didn’t see or hear a breakup. Of course Pitman was several hundred yards away at the time, and Lightoller was underwater for part of the breakup, but as officers, their word did hold more water.

    Loved night to remember. Great movie. Probably better than James Cameron Titanic. Except the Titanic going down in 1. 1 thing that I feel like James Cameron did better was intense of the movie.. the sailors acted desperate to turn away from the iceberg than a night to remember. In that movie they acted in a way like it's a casual day at the office. 😂
