Managing ALL the ages ca be tricky for sure. Hearing how other do it is SO HELPFUL!!
It really can be tricky! So glad this helped 😉
I love how you keep it real about kindergarten. (I know this video is 2 yrs old lol, but I just stumbled upon it.) I currently have a kindergartener, and he is bouncy and still in full play mode so we do shorter lessons and he has more time to play. I also homeschool my 4 kiddos, too, and our schedule is very similar to this one you shared. Love this video! ❤
Thank you! yes...its so nice to hear that we're not alone in this....especially with the wild kiddos! 😂
Thank you, I needed this.
Thanks for sharing a realistic schedule for you and your kiddos!
You’re welcome! 🥰
My 7 year old wanted me to tell you she loves your earrings. And I love them too!
Awww please tell her thank you! These are my favorite earrings! ❤️
Such a great video! I love your channel. You have a great attitude and I bet your children love having you for a teacher. We have 6 kids, homeschool, and live in Maine.
Thank you so much! ❤️ I’m so glad this encouraged you!
I admire you!
Thank you! 😘
This video is what I have been searching for for the past year. We are on the second year of homeschooling. I tried to teach the same subject at the same time for multiple levels, and I was ran ragged. I was looking for a breakdown of how to juggle each subject for each grade level. Thank you sooo much!
I am so glad this helped!!! ❤️
Im in the same boat. Im starting homeschooling for the first time in a week to four children of different ages and grades. Im super nervous but excited.
You got this!
This was very helpful! This is my fourth year homeschooling and I feel like I still don’t know what I’m doing. It’s overwhelming but I still enjoy it. Next school year I will have a fourth grader, second grader and kindergartener along with my 3 year old, Almost 2 year old, and a newborn in sept 😆
What did you do when your kids were younger? That’s the hardest part for me. Trying to keep the younger ones busy so I can work with the older one. We utilize nap times and we’ve done the special bins with toys only for during school. Everything seems to work only for a short time then I’m looking for new solutions. Only my 18 month old is a boy. All the rest are girls and we don’t know what the new baby will be yet. I’m kinda nervous to school my boy. 😆
I will do a video to share what we did to entertain the littles while homeschooling! Thank you for this question. It’s not easy for sure….but I will share what worked for us. Keep your eye out in the next couple weeks. ❤️
I always start the homeschool year with a routine or schedule but about 2 months in we've fallen into a rhythm of me bouncing back and forth between my 4. I kind of like to think of it like a non-contact sport where I'm just shooting between players. 😅
Oh my word! This is too true!!! I so hear you!!! Lol 😂 good intentions, but I struggle with falling back into the tennis match bouncing between kids like a mad woman sometimes too!
@@ourthriftyhomeschool right?? All good intentions. My follow through needs work. 🤦♀️😆😆
Curious when in your day do you break for lunch, and for how long? What time do you usually finish school?
We usually eat lunch between 12 and 1 for about 30 minutes. We usually finish school around 2pm.
Bounce as In back and forth lol
Where did you get your chalk board? I have been looking.
It was a thrift store find! 🥳
Off topic…. What size is this board and where did you get it? I’ve really been wanting a larger chalkboard vs out white board but struggling to find one.
I found this at the thrift store….for $10!!! One of my favorite finds! It’s about 3’4”.
Do you use spelling in TGATB? If so how do you have them study and do you quiz them? The layout with spelling intermix is confusing to me. I may use it next year for 5th grade but I'm also considering BJU English.
My girls do the spelling exercises on TGTB, and I have them either write the words on the board or on paper whenever the books asks them to. But it it very light in my opinion, so our main spelling is Evan Moor Spelling and that is something they do everyday.
First year homeschool where would I find health and geography education for our electives. I too have 4 ❤
I would suggest starting with Cathy Duffy reviews to see what's out there and then research the curriculum that you might be interested in.
I have done a few videos on what we have used if that helps.
What time do you usually start?
We aim for 9am 😁
Why did you stop using Heart of Dakota?
I loved it so much, but it was becoming too much of a balancing act running 3 guides. I still sometimes try to figure out if I can make it work bc it is such a good curriculum….but I’ve got 4 kids to balance now 😬
What state r u in ? Are electives required for all states Or is that a choice?
We are in Ohio. No, electives aren’t required yet at least…..I’d assume so I’m high school, but not the younger years.
This is kinda what I do. Or I’ll put them at the table & bounce lol
Yes! Bouncing around the table can work too lol 😂 just a bit exhausting!
