GT 250 tank I used a 16” bicycle tube I picked up at dollar store. Shoved the whole tube into side with dent. I should have heated tank a little in sun or with heat gut but thank God the dent popped out just as the tube popped! Looks much better now. 👍 Thanks for the great idea.

Thanks buddy! 4 yrs later I'm trying to figure out how to fix a 40yr old tank. Looking on ebay and the only one is in worse shape than mine!
This has made my day. Bless you.

Very inventive way to approach dent removal. Often warming the metal helps encourage the metal to move more easily. I have a dent in a rear quarter panel to remove when the weather warms up and was thinking of using an air wedge. After seeing your technique, I’m going to copy it and use an inner tube and my compressor. Thanks for making this video.

Good idea but it's better if you have tank mounted on the bike then pressured. The pressure sometimes makes other parts of the tank expand. This will make a hard time fitting tank back on the bike. Found out the hard way.

I unintentionally destroyed a tank by doing this. I was lucky to find a decent replacement. Good Kawasaki F7 parts have proven to be tough to come by.

This is genius! I have just purchased TWO 2012 Honda CBR250r motorcycles. The red one has a sizeable but not creasing dent in the right side of the tank, plus it is fuel injected so it has a sizeable entrance hole in the bottom of the tank tank for the fuel pump. i can see now this is going to WORK...Thanks...Al

just use a whole tube , and use the valve and stem complete , no need for the messing about , just get on with it. the valve stem will stick out the hole and work fine
works well on door skins too , but it can move the whole panel so take care , but its still better than a dent , works really well on big soft dents.

Impressive demo, but I couldn't help wondering whether it was really necessary to cut that section out of the tube? Presumably it would be much harder to get the tube in and out of the tank if you didn't? Also, good point about doing it with the bike in situ, on the bike, to avoid expansion in the wrong places and making it impossible to refit! Finally, you've written 'technik' when you obviously mean *technique*.
