As an Asian, I can relate to the pressure Eric has on impressing his family
absolutely. the way he looks down at the ground when they lose- reminded me of report card day and getting just 94 % in math.
Typical well off East/Southeast Asian parents: You only get 95% in GPA? come back talk to us when you are doctor, lawyer, engineer or architect!

Its not even undercooked, the corn kernels are just charred because the stove fire is very high

You are not right judges. Effort wise Eric's egg rolls should have easily outweighed no effort corn. They chose spicy chicken and buttery cassava with plantains? Oooh creative. With uncooked corn? Judges stink. Boo. Hiss.
There were three people on the blue team and only two on the red.

Guys I’m sorry if i sound dumb but why do the judges talk to the cooks while they’re fixing their food? Wouldn’t that distract them from finishing it? Cause tbh that annoys me
I'm sure it is annoying for the contestants. It just helps fill the time while the food is cooking and the judges often do some tasting of the dishes as they are being prepared.
The cooks are in there to prove they can cook like in a restaurant and restaurant kitchens are very busy and full of noise. So it's part of the challenge, I'd say.

Ironically, The Red Team won despite only have 2 people. It reminds me of Hell's Kitchen when the Blue Team always win the dinner service whenever there are only 3 people left.
