this song might sound simple but it's not... for me anyways. this is one groove I've been avoiding practicing ever since I started playing... just not really my style - I much rather practice syncopated patterns! but I decided it was time and no better song to do it with then this one!

Playing this song on the drums has got to be very therapeutic.
its a fucking workout.
Once you build up the right muscles to play it without getting exhausted it is very relaxing.

+Mr. Big Snake the drummer of the original play is not a muscle guy... the concept of having muscle is the way to dont get exhausted is wrong, there techinch for this, and the foo fighter`s drummer use them very well, you can see he is not a muscle guy

+thelonewolf191 Its ok buddy. I felt thesame. People also told me its all about the wrist. The frist time i watched this was about 6 months ago as you can see i have posted a comment. Im a slow learner and it took me a couple of months to know this song and developed the endurance and speed for the groove. I jsut practice everyday even just for a couple of mins. Now I can play the song, but not as good as this woman did. But yeah I almost gave up but the perseverance and patience of my band helped me alot. :) You can do it too bro, dont give up! Its difficult, but not impossible.
+thelonewolf191 It's actually not a terribly difficult song to play. If you get your speed through effort instead of technique this song will kill you. Focus on playing with your wrists and hands instead of using your arms so much and you'll be fine. Once you do that, the speed will come easy, and once the speed becomes easy you'll find that this song really isn't particularly complex or difficult... It's just fun!!!

I like that we get to see your drummer face in this video in between smiles and sing alongs. It shows you were really focussed. Really nice work.
People are like, "OMG,,, you're a drummer, do you watch meytal's drum covers?!?!" And I always said no, but finally caved in. I don't really see what the hype is. She's got great technique, and, played the song perfectly well, don't get me wrong. I just wasn't really entertained by watching it. I felt no energy. Idk, maybe it's just me.
You see what you want.. Idk why people expect her to make faces, an hop up and down like a clown to show you a performance.. She's covering songs of other drummers, not doing impressions of the drummers in concert.. People just can't help being negative...She's a very skilled, fluid drummer, that sticks strictly to the original, without the improvisation that most drummers do that try to do covers.. Or as I call it "can't properly perform" the original ..

In all honesty I'd have a problem that she gets more views just because she's a girl but she can play. If she couldn't play and got views just based on gender that's not fair. But she can play well so I think the gender role brought in the views but the skill level kept the views going.

Steve McNally Actually no. She plays the song just fine. Her technique is off though. When you hold the sticks your hands should be flat like how you put your hands out to type. Her shoulders are slightly perked up, which isn't proper posture, for drumming. She should be using free strokes or some other similar techniques to do the 16th note hi hat beat the whole way through the song. Lastly she keeps her elbows way to far back.
***** I couldn't care less about her technique when the sounds is that amazing!! Or what? Awesome people that don't have hands and play drums (or any instrument) like gods, are meant to be punished for not using the correct technique?.. To be fair, though, i say that as a listener, maybe i'd care if i was a teacher or something.
Dude - at the end of the day the best technique is the one that gets it done. Sure there's old school tried and true standards but as you grow and hone your craft, you always develop you own blend of the old school and what works for you. Neil Peart talks a lot about this in one of the DVDs...and besides, if any technique is off, then it will limit your product which is usually enough to seek the requisite fixes...
Antonio Leding I wasn't trying to be rude or say that she wasn't a great player. I was ust giving her some feedback. So she can improve on her playing. Which is really one of the main reasons people post vids of them selves drumming on youtube

Foo Fighters are massive here in the UK in fact they had there biggest concert ever here! Our National Football Stadium in London Wembley Stadium! Had to be over a 100,000 people it was incredible! Yes I was there :-D So I'll always hold that song in high regard! One of my all time favourite songs! You smashed it Meytal!!! \m/
