As a little monster i can say that ARTPOP is not just an album, it's a spiritual experience and cultural reset, and i'm sure that people will still listen this masterpiece in a hundred years
artpop is an experience. period. even the unpolished demos of each track are a true bop. i wish gaga would explore artpop again with artpop act 2 in the future.

Gypsy is literally my fave Gaga song ever. Every time I listen to it I get teary eyed lmao. The word itself is only really a derogatory term in the region, not really in the United States or the west really so it’s not well known. Kinda like how Shakira made her song Gypsy as well.
I think it’s always fun to note that “Aura” was originally titled “Burqa” but was met with HELLA controversy and backlash. Essentially ppl saying it’s was culturally inappropriate to relate to the themes of what the song centered around ❗️ARTPOP was actually my FAVORITE era for that fact that it was just so DARING in a lot of the themes, the song structures, and the execution of a lot of the videos etc. ARTPOP was A MOMENT that always needed it’s respect in my opinion.. ✨but glad to see it getting its due dills now ATLEAST 👍🏽

But as we know many ppl are very sensitive to specific cultural references and sometimes it will take away from the initial intention and affectiveness of the art direction. However, considering the name change, I think they still cleverly expressed those themes anyways within the offficial song
People hated this album when it came out. I LOVED this album when it was released this album is in my top 3 Gaga albums of all time. And it was AHEAD of it's time which is why I think people shit on it when it was first released but now people have an appreciation for the album

The song ARTPOP is actually insane. One of the most unique songs I've heard, especially coming from a pop emperess (at the time) In the first verse, art is singing to pop (“Come to me, with all your glamour and cruelty / Just do the thing that you do, and I’ll undress you” - "The *melody* that you choose" In the second verse, pop is singing to art (“Come to me, with all your subtext and fantasy / Just do the thing that you do, in a perverse hue” - "The *color palette* you choose" In the chorus, art and pop tell each other that they can belong together as one entity without separation or distinction. In other words, ARTPOP (one word). Not Art Pop, ArtPop, or Art-Pop. It's just so high concept wrapped in a mesmerizing beat served in the most delicate & strong way, a perfect hybrid. I've never heard anything like it EVER. Oh and don't even get me started on the lyric "Lovers' kites are flown on beaches for public sight" like why is that sentence so beautiful dawg why did I get chills down my spine just typing it?
GYPSY will always be my favorite song from gaga, ever! Just because of the line "Someday in Jakarta" 😭 i still remember the time when i heard it for the first time, i was devastated knowing the rejection gaga received. Quick backstory: gaga was supposed to do Born This Way Ball Tour in Jakarta (Indonesia) and the tickets were sold out, but due to large protest from the so called "islamic defender community" (which is "legal" back then but thank God now it's banned), the concert was canceled bcs they believed gaga is a satanic (yep you read it right), plus the lgbtq+ topic here in Indonesia was really sensitive to talk about (luckily things changed now). I was 14 yo back then, and i literally sold my camera to afford the ticket lol even tho it was canceled. So, knowing the backstory and received this masterpiece from gaga, i really feel somewhat special and this song really holds a place in my heart. Ugh how i wish things were this much better back then. (Sorry for my bad writing, english isn't my first language).

The problem with J&D is there's not enough progression. There's not enough GaGa... ...after T.I.'s verse, the first chorus and GaGa's verse, I skip. It used to be the track 7 on the album, but after the sexual allegations that R. Kelly had. Lady Gaga decided to remove the song from ARTPOP in general. On physical CDs and Vinyls and digital platforms also.
