The reason for the guitar guy in fury road was for conveying orders in a sense. Back before we had comms in the military people used instruments to signal.
Yeah, and the use of precious gasoline for theatrics tells everyone that these guys rule the roost. That made total sense to me.

In defense of the flame thrower guitar and the fuel argument, immortan joe ran gas town where they produce there own fuel. So yes for eveyone else in the wasteland fuel is scarce but for the citadel they have plentiful amounts of it.
Bill being so charming that Beatrix almost second guessed her revenge, after two movies of killing people to get to him, was the whole point, Korey. She didn't have a problem slicing through dozens of people she hated, but this guy, after what he did to her, she realized she still almost liked him. That's how he was more dangerous for her.
I always feel like Martin is too Harsh in his critique but he’s honestly hands down my favorite personality on this show. I couldn’t imagine this show without Martin! Thank you Martin for being a chill, yet unforgiving, and observational movie critic with a healthy sense of humor.

"I didn't really buy the revenge aspect of it. Yeah, he kills her mom but other than that, he's pretty cool to her, he doesn't really do anything else." Okay, 1., that's a really good reason to want revenge and 2., that's definitely NOT all he does to her. Like, not even close. I honestly wonder if you went to the bathroom for a long time because he does way more to her than "just" kill her mom. You can dislike what the movie does but you're not even accurately assessing what happens.
I respect their review, but that was definitely a double take. I mean she was literally kept in a cage for most of her childhood.

Fury Road is not all practical, there is a ton of CG in it.
It was 90% practical. I don’t think we want to water down the efforts of the last movie.

In a post apocalyptic setting, everyone’s about food, clean water and weapons. Yet, in all the movies about this sub-genre, have never heard one person mention a damn thing about TP or hand soap. Find that to be the single most horrifying aspect of these movies.

Pretty sure he had an outline for the Furiosa script before Fury Road. Scrotus was the main villain in the Mad Max Video game.

Definitely. I saw the film a day before it opened and afterward I saw the trailer and it revealed practically all of the coolest and most important sequences. I hate when trailers do that.

You guys hit it on the head. I liked the movie a lot but there was something just a little off and I personally felt like the pacing was off and it should have been edited down by about 30 minutes.

Saw the movie today with my sister and her bf
Lots of things in here centering around love, what the side effects are of fighting for it, taking on the world in order to get home, how a wasteland can create a hero
Miller and the creators once again bring a large scale to this apocalyptic world with giant sets, modified vehicles, customized weapons, elaborate costumes, convincing makeup effects, and a dirt filled aesthetic
The film itself is definitely worth the wait
It's quite long (probably could've been trimmed down and sped up its pacing) along with some odd editing choices and I didn't know it would be broken up into chapters although it is told like an odyssey
It takes quite a while too for Anya Taylor-Joy to show up as a young Furiosa but she conveys a lot of expression through her eyes with visual storytelling
And director George Miller wonderfully expands this Australian wasteland
I also appreciated how they forge her character and leading right into the events of ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ right down to using familiar music cues
Hemsworth makes for an entertaining warlord villain too
The vehicle chases and custom war machines continue to be inventive
The characters get crazier even when certain things stop making sense altogether then again this is a mad world for all involved
‘Fury Road’ was much more exciting but this is a nice side story to expand on the world Miller created 45 years ago
Truly want more Mad Max sequels. Get weirder, out the box, develop more characters. Especially villians. Would pay to watch this again. Initial rating: High Full Price.
I LOVED Furiosa! One of my favorite parts is when Dementus and co. roll up on Immorten Joe like they're some bad stuff! And I just mutter to myself: "Man, that bunch is so about to get f*&d up!"

I completely disagree with your perception of this movie- they really nailed it and furiosa was at the core of everything
Tom hardy couldn't understand the nature of writing the script as the film was being made and he drove everyone bonkers (my take). But his approach to films only ensured fury road was released in top condition. Furiosa could have been a classic like fury road but instead it's just beautiful and fun. I'll definitely be going again but I really can't wait to see what they do with mad max: wasteland , no doubt hardy will be on the set again setting the standard. Hope it's not too long in the making.

This felt like the prequel AND sequel...movie didn't know when to end!
Between Korey and Martin, they nailed it. Don't go in expecting 'Fury Road 2'. The stuff you want from a 'Mad Max' film is there... but because of the length, it means there's more room for other things that don't work.
Imma give it a low full price because while it's a gorgeous action movie the story stuff does make me wonder if it should've been a miniseries on TV or streaming instead of a full movie, I felt exhausted leaving that theater. Like it feels less about about the history of Furiosa and more about who's responsible for turning her into what she is once you get to Fury Road (her Mother, Dementus, Joe and Jack) if that makes any sense.
For rewatch marathon though I'd say it makes more sense to go Mad Max 1 then The Road Warrior then Thunderdome then this movie then Fury Road cuz this movie feels like the perfect setup to Fury Road.
Was this prequel movie necessary? Not really. But was it pretty good. Yeah I liked it. Fury Road used more practical effects as opposed to the janky CG that was deployed in this film. Anya Taylor Joy 👌
