- Bonjour à tous, work still carries on in the 400 guest suite with more plaster boarding, but white Ash, Graham and Rob tackle getting them up Terry takes a look that the rotten original parquet flooring and it does not look good, so Terry gets to work on making a new section for it.

About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.

I live and work in the San Francisco Bay Area , repairing and restoring Victorians and Bungalows. The amount of work you are doing , and the level of craftsmanship is truly outstanding. I've been doing this for 50 years and I know how much work is involved, I can't even fathom doing a project of that size.
Terry, you can master any skill! Excellent job on that parquet floor...not an easy job.

It probably seems sometimes to be frustrating when you hit a hiccup. But in the grand scheme, you are all but rebuilding the château. These took YEARS to build and you're right, you aren't renovating a temporary home, it's a building that is meant to last for generations. It's definitely best to do it right 👍❤
Great progress this week! Before watching Adrian, and now Terry, tackle a parquet floor repair, I'd never appreciated how fiddly it could be. I hope you're remembering to number pieces so if the lot fall somehow, you can put the puzzle back together more easily. When the floor is repaired and complete, I think you'll find a lot of satisfaction in that job well done.

My parents had a parquet flooring put down in their new house in the sixties, and I always remember the cork edging round the room,didn’t realize how expensive it must of been to put down,look after it guys it’s priceless...

Great progress in this video. I think my favorite part was Terry creating the floor insert with his usual meticulous skill to get that puzzle sorted out splendidly.

Discovering the terrible state and how much more work is involved with the wood must have dropped your spirits a bit but a hot bath, a delicious drink and some good company will soon lift them back up. For someone who isn't professionally trained, the repair to the parquet looked v impressive 🥰
If those windows open in the tower, a box fan blowing help might help with that dry wall dust flying about. Better yet attaching a cheap paper filter to catch particles

How good is the Ecoflow....life changing really. As a techo. Ash you speak so well about the product giving all the features a good explanation. The floor is a real jigsaw puzzle, well done Terry.
Eco flow should pay Ash for these advertisements. He is professional yet down to earth. He is enthusiastic, informative and obviously uses the product.

You and Adrian are channeling each other at this point. But in the end will look fabulous. Your attitude about when you find a problem fix it right is absolutely the correct thing to do. Yeah it takes longer, BUT it’s one less thing that you have to worry about.

Living in Florida, we keep the ac at 76. Back when I was in Ohio, we kept it at 68. It's funny how that changes depending on where you are.

The quickest easiest way to cut plasterboard is to score it with a sharp Stanley knife along the measured line and Bend the plasterboard firmly the opposite way and it should come cleanly apart. Doing it this way makes less mess and dust.
Thanks Jane. That generally works when there isn’t a couple of inches of insulation on the back :) if it’s normal plasterboard, we do just cut it. We found this way is the best to protect the insulation from getting damaged on the backside of the board 😊😊
@@ashleywaters7198 sorry Ash I didn’t see the thick insulation at the back of the plasterboard. You all work very hard and I Was just thinking of you having to clean all that dust that’s flying around in the chateau .In future I Will put my specs on when watching your fantastic Vlogs .😂

Love watching your progress but dread the thought of your post work dust clean up, especially on the stair rails! Watching the plasterboard dust during sawing- I would consider putting up some plastics maybe over the railing AND running your vacuum during the cutting, or doing the cutting in closed room to reduce the post construction dust which I am sure you will be discovering for months (I did this when I added closed in a room in my house). 🎉

One can place large sheets of plastic covering areas. But I’m sure you know this.
What concerns me most is that all who are working in that area, except for Rob who IS wearing a mask, are inhaling the dangerous dust. Please Graham, Terry, Ash, puppies…wear masks, protect eyes🙏 COPD is nothing to take for granted. I don’t want to frighten you…I care too much to see and not say anything. 🌟💛
