Me too! I’m now getting home hospice services. I signed up early, well before being near death. It’s such a relief to know I will be cared for and kept comfortable. Right now, I’m quite content.

As a hospice nurse the hardest thing is when patients want and need pain medication and the family refuse to believe they need it and will not give it because it decrease levels of consciousness and they believe meds kills them and not the pain
Because hospice murders the patients by letting them starve of thirst and food. That is immoral.
Some people really don't accept death.

Primary care physicians are not always the attending doctor when you’re receiving hospice services. My oncologist is the one who told me that my cancer is no longer treatable and he offered to be my physician while I’m a hospice patient. He understands my disease process. My primary care doc knows almost nothing about my current condition. I think which physician to use depends on each individual doc and how much they know about you and your illness and what role they are comfortable playing.
My mom got hospice and lives in my house I been taking care of my mom and now I'm scared my mom is dying my dad had hospice and lived in nursing home what I went threw was awful hospice was not there for me and I was close to my daddy broke my heart watching him lay in bed fighting stay alive but I had to be the one to tell him he was dying hospice should have told him not me I been having bad dreams since then . Breaks my heart I don't like it my mom on hospice I don't like them coming in to my home I pay the rent and all the bills no one ask me

They speak as If your primary actually knows you, chances are THEY DON'T! I can't tell keep track of how many primaries I've had retire, move away, leave for a job elsewhere, ect. They MAY know you but there's probably a specialist whose send me more.

Hospice is only for 6 months I’m going on my 7th month they want me off the program so now what how do I get meds doctors don’t want to get involved so now what do I do?
Call another hospice service, but the hospice service your on just can't dump you they have to find you another doctor, and set you up with medical care. Call Enhabit Home Health and Hospice. They are located across the country they will help you.

My problem has bin just this past 3weeks my mother they have bin teasing her at the care house and my mother was checking could not breath rightness would call me at 7pm at 11pm qt 1am and at 3am these hours are at different days of the week now the people there at this care house the the hills. In Santa Ana to be exact my mother has bin there for 6 years now all of a sudden they changed staff but I went in my mother was drugged wrongfully my mother tells me not to complain because they will treat her bad won't attend her she's the one that is going to suffer out of this I have got additional with everyone and they are all covering for each other Now on a Wed I walked in because if you call the facility from 7pm on they will not answer and they have a habit of memorizing your number as to teach me a lesson lesson in what aggravation and worry so my mothers phone are pulled away from her or disconnected as well as the emergency button the patient next to her don't have one and is welling at the top of her lungs to get there attrition and the nurses station is right out the door my mother is blind and penalize with the use of her right hand to eat and has had a catheter for about 4 years now she goes to dyalisis had diabetes and high blood pressure I was there foing the nurses job another nurse out side her door telling me he is not asind to her so that means it's Okey to watcher her fie I shot you not that was rhe situation they were experimenting with 360pills 235 pills and208 I find these pills on here bed on the floor and on her wheel chair now I have a aunt that has bin giving my mother meds to loose memory such as the clinic they will not tell me who arrives they take without signing her out but me being her only child do all thes things so that there are no excuses and everyone should do it well if they are thre hiding a separate sheer from me I took a notary the following day I had to pay and send him away the head nurse I told her my mother was not coherent she was paranoid skitdofrinic for over the 12 hours I was there with her the midnight shift came in and told me it was not visiting hours I told her I was not there to visit I was there keeping my mother alive this lady insisted and I told her I hope you can keep her alive from now till tomorrow when I get back I walked out the door lock behind me I call my mother she checking she's calling out my name over and over till silence I did not hang up the police arrive the supervisor dose not want what ever she's hiding to be brought to surface know the police officer is tell what's going on ibtell him but now he walks in to talk to yhe supervisor my mother is at the other end of the buildings till choking now the police man comes out and said my mother is all right and sleeping my mother starts yelling out my name checking again gargling mukus and I tell him does that sound like she's a sleep the other two officers bowbther head down saying nothing and he tells me he dose not understand Spanish thousand were sight of distres and she's yelling my name choking for you know what it took for me to walk away being the son of an X navy seal you will never ever begin to believe what I did going an only child hoping my mother would make it to the next morning
