Many red states now say u can use a concealed gun license/ hunting license as alternate ID to vote. BUT, a State University ID, or STATE ISSUED Security guard ID is NO GOOD. Sounds like it benefits white men who statistically are more likely to have Concealed carry license or hunt, and hurts the poor, and college youth.

In the middle of a pandemic, it is more sensible to keep everyone safe and have the votes mail in. If the government truly care for its citizens, they should make it easier for their voices to be heard. Kentucky has 4.5 million residents. Half of them (2.250.000) won't vote. And it has less than 200 voting places.
    According to math, that's 11.250 voters/voting station.
The voting stations are open from 6 AM to 6 PM, that's 12 hours, or 938 voters/hour.
That's 16 voters/minute. Could be doable, if there are at least 16 voting booths at every place.
But of course...that's only, if the voters would come in a constant stream starting at 6 AM, and if every voter had a voting place nearby. We all know, that'snot the case...so, it's not really feasible. Now, let's say 50% vote by mail (that's if they get their ballots in time!)...that final number goes down to 8 voters/minute. Again: should be doable...but only if the stream of voters starts at 6 AM and doesn't ebb during the 12 hour period.

In the UK postal ballots are available to all. And every village has a polling station - towns have one for each area about a mile or two apart. The US looks like a developing country which I guess it is🙁

Why would they care about criticism? If there are no consequences, there are no rules. It's that simple. They'll do what they want till someone is able to stop them. But the system has no checks or balances, so that won't happen.

For the love of burnt toast America .... have an independent, national electoral commission that will maintain the electoral roll, determine the electoral boundaries, organise the polling stations, and co-ordinate the federal, state and municipal elections. Make your elections compulsory, have preferential voting system and use paper ballots so that electoral fraud is hard to manipulate. It aint that hard.

His "view from the ground" doesn't acknowledge how those who are disabled or the working poor can't do this. For instance, the working poor will have to vote on their lunches or after/before work. They can't just take off for an election even though this one affects them more than any others in the past.
The disabled won't be able to stand in lines or sit in a wheelchair It's impossible. Traveling a long distance to vote would be detrimental to their health.
Yes, there are mail in ballots, but I have those and it requires notarization with 2 witnesses who give their own private information and addresses. If a person lives alone and is sheltering because of COVID, that could become an impossible task.
This is voter suppression. I don't care what the local guy says. He's young and ignorant - obviously.
