    FYI in LrC to see "visualize spots" press "T" or View>Show Toolbar. (took me a while to find so maybe this will help someone else)

    Man, for me, this CA tool works about 10% of the time. I have to refresh it a bunch then resort to directly telling it what the source pixels should be and even then it’s rolling the dice. 🎲

    I found the same thing re photoshop vs lightroom. PS much better for removal. You think that adobe would just uplift the PS version of the code/ AI model and reuse it in lightroom

    A tip for visualizing dust - something that works way better is to crank Dehaze to 100. Fair warning, you will see so many dust spots that you'll want to cry, and you'll start cleaning your lenses and sensors much more often 😉

    As others have commented, I have not had good luck with Content Aware tool, and often it is so illogical and way off as to what it first grabs. However, wasn’t aware of the ability to bias the selection to a particular area, so excited about trying that. Similarly, heal tool often has a lot of trouble with borders and transition areas and creates muddy “smudges”. And clone tool is extremely finicky, because even if there is the slightest variation in tone or brightness, for example, the clone stamp looks so obviously different. Often, I find myself using a combination of clone and then heal. And although I also ideally like to remove the object/area in one action, sometimes the scene is so dense with changes that there is not enough room for LR to find suitable replacement and then need to do it in stages. The tip to create a straight selection is a good one i didn’t know, but sometimes I find that have a bit of movement in the selection creates a more natural result.

    Thank you for the high quality content. I have the iPad version of LR purchased via the Apple Store. My interface does not quite show the same as yours. Is there a difference between the iPad LR from the App Store versus the Subscription done with Adobe? or am I missing some settings?

    Didn't realise that interchangeability was possible with different tools. Thanks for great video. It's a shame that Adobe cannot get program techniques to the same level of accuracy for the same tools. There again, as you say, easy to swap.

    • @brianmatiash
      @brianmatiash  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Yeah, it's really important to let your selection spill over the actual border of what you want to remove. It'll allow LR to give you a better-blended result. And don't forget that you can CMD/CTRL click on a different area to tell LR where you want to sample from.

    The tool works, kind of. In your initial demonstration it left blurry patches in the grass at the bottom of the image. Refresh doesn’t cure it, as it didn’t in your example. In other occasions it’s even more obvious, not a good result. BTW: the size of the tool can be changed via the scroll wheel, too.

    Just wanted to say thanks, thanks, thanks! Your Show Overlay button hint has changed and greatly increased my use of the content aware fill. Unfortunately I work in LR Classic and it takes a few clicks to turn the overlay on/off. I use Always and Never, but it 2 clicks. Do you or anyone know a shortcut to making this switch in LR Classic. The rest of your tutorial gave me a cleare understanding of the tools and how to use. Thank you

      You can have LR re-process a selection with the Remove brush. I show that at 08:44.
