Could never figure out exactly why Cessna never restarted the C210 production when they restarted the piston single production. I love 210’s, such amazing airplanes.
Would be more difficult(expensive) to certify under the Part 23 rules vs the CAR 3 rules when originally certified at least I think that’s what Cessna would say. Also, the business case - when you look at the volume of potential sales for a new 210 at a price point they would have to charge- probably pretty low.
I’ve always thought about this too. Everyone loves the 172 and 182 and I would think the 210 would be an excellent candidate to bring back. Especially like, the pressurized and/or the turbine 210 with a glass G1000 or GTN750 standard. It would be the perfect plane for those who came up in the 150/172 training, had gained considerable time, experience and money during that time and wanted a complex aircraft for high performance/commercial applications. Going after that same market capability gap and role some bonanzas, Lancairs and the malibu/mirage/matrix/meridian do.
i have 400+ hours in a 210 M. by far the sweetest plane i've ever flown. push the prop in and mixture in, it flies like a 152 as long you keep some power on landing. love it!!

In the summer. VWO is an important speed to remember, (Velocity Window Open)
Cessna conveniently marked it with a red line on the airspeed indicator.

Hey Rich 🙋🏻♂️ Lovely 210! My 172 has the same panel as this 210. I flew to Catalina for lunch this past Sunday. Great time. My understanding is that Catalina is closed for a few weeks for runway maintenance 🤷🏻♂️.

A friend of mine recently upgraded his 172 with a 750nxi and 500 (along with other upgrades) and we both noticed the red Smart Glide button. Thanks for the description because neither of us was certain what all it would or could do other than what the name says. We also found out (with a chuckle) when practicing stalls that his 500 took over and pushed the nose over before either of us could! That was unexpected but, nice surprise.
These new autopilots are slowly taking over control of the airplanes!

The 210 has been my dream plane since I started flying. This one is decked out nicely. I just joined a flying club here in San Diego that has a 210 in the fleet that just had this exact panel upgrade. It is sweet. I am really looking forward for getting my checkout in that soon. But it is always booked for long cross countries so I think we need to get this one and add it to the fleet. It would pay for itself in the club.

Rich, Have you heard of any 210's being retrofit with BRS? It seems like if they can put them in much heavier Cirrus Jets it should be possible for the 210' or 206's. Cheers.

I remember a while back you doing a video with a 210. Cant remember much about it except at one point in the video you pulled out the POH to see what speeds vs altitude. It seemed like the same color but I cant find that video. Is this the same plane?

Do you need a type rating to fly to be released to fly each Cessna piston type?
No. Private Pilot license is the minimum from FAA, after that it’s usually limited by insurance. Thanks for watching!
