  • This past weekend I had the pleasure of having Georgia of @georgiascakes over for a collaboration! She was visiting from London, and we were able to spend an afternoon together creating an EPIC drip cake!!
    The design of this cake is inspired by Georgia's gorgeous tiered cakes. Georgia is a trained pastry chef, and has a cake business in London! Her creativity and amazing skill are evident in everything she creates.
    We messaged back and forth trying to decide on what type of cake we should make, and decided that an over the top drip cake decorated with loads of candy fit the bill. In the spirit of collaboration, we decided to use both English and American candy. Our taste test of all the different types of candy can be seen here:
    The recipes for this cake can be found here: chelsweets.com...

    Just wondering do you refrigerate the cake before adding the sprinkles ? Both rolling and hand method.

    • @Chelsweets
      @Chelsweets  Před 6 lety

      nope! I refridgerate/freeze after the crumb coat, but put the sprinkles on right after I finish smoothing the second layer of frosting!

    @laurenagresta8973 Před 5 lety +1

    Love your videos! Two questions: do you plan out when to make all the cakes or you make them for orders then video!? Also, if you do them just for videos, then who eats the cake? Lol

    • @Chelsweets
      @Chelsweets  Před 5 lety +2

      I make them just for the videos! but usually they're part of partnerships, or I'm creating videos for different media companies that I have partnerships with! I usually give my cakes away to friends or my neighborhood police/fire station :)

    This cake is so fun!! Do you know if the cake is refrigerated for a day or 2, will the nonpareils color bleed? Thanks!

    • @Chelsweets
      @Chelsweets  Před 6 lety +1

      Depends on the climate you're in! if it's super humid and your kitchen is really warm, it may! But if you slowly let the cake warm up from the fridge (and keep your kitchen cool), it should be fine!

  • @NREnger
    @NREnger Před 5 lety

    @CHELSWEETS What did you do with all that cake? Or in general what do you do with all that cake when it isn't an order? Cool cake! And I am going to try her roll method.

      @Chelsweets  Před 5 lety

      I do like to chill my cakes in the freezer until they're cold to the touch! it makes them a lot easier to frost! I also have an in-depth tutorial here on how I get smooth sides on my cakes: czcams.com/video/dSct8J003to/video.html
      Hope that helps, happy baking!!

  • @DarlingDiamondDivas

    I really want to bake more and learn techniques but I find it's so expensive especially if I mess up and cakes don't turn out right. Do you have any ideas how to practice without it being expensive?

    • @Chelsweets
      @Chelsweets  Před 5 lety +1

      Sure! I'd recommend making smaller cakes to minimize waste if a recipe doesn't turn out, and starting out with some basic recipes! once you master those, you have a higher chance for success in the future!

    • @edithavilez3536
      @edithavilez3536 Před 4 lety

      You can practice piping with Nashe potatoes instead of making buttercream.

      we just made this cake for fun in my apartment, so we didn't bother with a center dowel since we didn't need to transport it :P If it was going to a venue though, we definitely would have!
