25:50 Grand Moff Collin exerting his influence on the keyboard.
*Sees Umbara*
♫ Some folks are born made to wave the flag ♫
upgrade the mandator 1 to become a mandator 2, the upgrade costs around 4-5k and basically doubles the guns.
it allowed mine to wipe out two lucrehulk battleships with an planetary ion cannon hitting me
As per usual I am in awe of how well these episodes are formatted and presented, I know I can't speak for everyone but I thoroughly enjoy this series and I hope you'll continue it.
Feels like you've been sleeping on your smaller ships. Don't forget about the Carrack and your screening corvettes, it's not a bad idea to keep at least 5 of them ready at any time to intercept fighters and missiles. The Carrack on the other hand punches well above its weight for such a small ship.
Are we sure Collin isn't a separatist spy with all his shenanigans?
I feel like the praetors are designed to deal with those bloody donuts at range. From what I understand firing arcs are allot more important in this mod than in the base game. So republic forces want to be as far back as possible in space with heavy guns slapping hard into everything. The CIS in comparison is geared for fighter superiority as well as close range engagements while being surrounded. Keep up the good work but I can see a general pattern coming into view here
A donut can only bring its full fire power when engaving a target head on attacking it from the side means half of its weapons cant hit you
@@DeltaCortis Right, but flanking maneuvers in this game are pretty much impossible. Far as I know you can't jump ships in from another angle. If you jump a ship in on the side then sure half the guns are preoccupied but the donuts from what I have heard from other players are super effective when you jump them into the middle of a fleet.
Bloody love these!
"We might not have new material, but we pack a punch!"
Of course the Clone Legion assigned to our main character is the 404th... Nice one Dave ;)
Some of the best content on your channel
It really is one of my favorite series he’s ever done
This and the Cold Waters playthrough are my favourite things on youtube at the moment.
@@SamFisher338 God damn truth there. Dave is really good at that sort of let's play
If the game wants to bug out in the AI's favor, lowering the difficulty to compensate and get back to something closer to the intended difficulty is only logical.
By the way, this series convinced me to buy Empire At War from GOG's summer sale. It just looks like so much fun. Cheers for that, Dave.
I know I am late on this, but the GOG version is not only outdated, but most mods don’t work on that version (The same situation also applies to the original disc version, but there are a few older mods that work on that version.)
@@DragonBallZKaifan2 Why am I not surprised. I was having serious trouble with getting the expansions to work under WINE on Linux in any case, so I just gave up and never even encountered that problem, but that just seems par for the course at this point. So many publishers just refuse to maintain the GOG versions of their games that there's a huge, long-running thread on "games that treat GOG customers as second-class citizens" in the general GOG forums. It's maddening.
I think moving to cruel captain is fair, like you said there was just kinda too much and we weren't making a lot of progress.
I do gotta say I think you're sleeping on corvettes, especially since one of the main problems you're having is fighters and bombers and corvettes are explicitly antifighter/bomber get like a good 10 of them at the front of your fleet and you're gonna really decrease the amount of damage you take from missiles and bombs with their point defense.
52:40 to be fair. The Republic was also being lead by a Sith Lord (not that anyone knew that). Agree they were greedy Corporations though.
Ideologically, I'm with the CIS (ironic given my PFP and name, I know) because the Republic honestly was failing, and as originally intended, the CIS stood to be a good second choice to the Republic. Practically, it's Creamy Sheev playing chess against himself, so it really doesn't matter.
@@PhoenixT70 The toxic brood is everywhere. 🦏🥛
Definitely worth getting Kuat Drive Yards on Kuat (already said this, not trying to tell you how to play just a strong suggestion :P )
Edit: My comment was made before your choice to build it, and I assumed you would forget with all the attacks. Forgive my brashness.
Praetor punchy time!
Also, when you think about it, the good guys in the Clone Wars were pawns. CIS was a bunch of corrupt bastards led by a Sith Lord, and the Republic was a bunch of corrupt bastards led by the same Sith Lord as the CIS.
Good guys wear white (in the Clone Wars, anyway)
It’s not the clone wars without an umbara arc
404th Clone Legion.... would that be the "Error" Legion? 😀
I would recommend building planitary shields on all planets that may be attacked. They are very cheap - and denying enemy bombardments is super usefull
Gotta love a man who calls his cat Colin.
I'm guessing the 404th Clone Legion would get along famously with your Cadian 404th
Keep it up lad, fantastic presentation as ever
Fantastic as always.
Downgrading to Cruel Captain is your decision. I dislike people who pressure other gamers to make their game as punishing as possible. Like bruh, just let gamers play on whatever difficulty they want to play on. It's not that difficult.
Tune in for the video game, stay for the cat commentary :)
I really think it's annoying that they don't have a hot key for paws while in the Galaxy screen
Colin's got that covered lol
ngl kinda liked the less mind controlly, and more “orders are orders” feel of order 66 in the movies over the “zombification” kinda thing shown i. the clone wars. having them retain their personality and its more of a “click” in perspective I think is a lot more interesting.
I also prefer the phase 2 helmets. phase 1 always seems a bit awkward and 2 looks sleak.
he's a little guy!!
But he packs a punch😂
I love this series, but I truly hate that you still haven't read the stuff in the bottom right corner...! 🙃
What is tour computer please ? 😀
The starbases are either crap, or extremely powerful. Anything that's a golan 2 at least can totally help with the reinforcements you get from the powerful starbase. However, if you get anything less than it honestly isn't worth it, unless you want to produce from that planet for some reason.
