I’ll never understand the mad dash to crash at the opening lap of an endurance race that lasts hours. Better to steer clear of it all and be there at the finish; likely near the lead if not in first place.

Its pretty simple to understand. It's a race, you see. Everyone wants as many cars as possible behind them, specifically to avoid traffic tangles like that.

I really wish there was like 15 or 20 races per season.

same but long endurance races put a lot of stress on the drivers' bodies, they need time to recover between the races

Nah cos it's endurance that's too many. 10-12 would be ideal though imo

15 or 20?? Too much.
10-12 is the maximum for me personally.
12 race could be one race per month (could start late January in southern hemisphere, & ends in early December also in southern hemisphere).
Or
10 races, start from February & end in November, race every month.
But I guess, most ideal is 9-10 races.
