I own Dominar 400, I have so much to say in the favour of my bike but it is 5:44 am and I am tired from a night shift.
I did not like the video they have made.
Even my friends who have classic 350 and 500 just appreciates how good Dominar rides and want me to switch whenever we ride.
I personally love the looks of my bike.
There are at least some if not a lot of pros for Dominar but still these guys did not mentioned even one.
It seems like they have had been biased.

As an owner of D400 from last 2 years having clocked 30,000+ kms on road I agree with every words you said. At first it was hard to switch from a Yamaha to Dominar comparing the engine smoothness, but after two years, I can say that I have adopted that minor vibrations in my body. The bike is butter smooth from 100 to 130 KMPH and that’s what makes it a perfect tourer. Its way ahead than Royal Enfield any day.

In the Philippines, the Dominar 400 is very popular due to its price compare to other 400cc counterparts. Small issues like vibration because of being a single cylinder motorcycle is forgivable amid its price. And Dominar's maintenance is just like maintaining a small cc bike. Very cheap for its price but a very good quality motorcycle from Bajaj.

RE is more of a cult machine. But sadly out of time. It could be best a street bike with open muffler and lot of noise pollution. More sound than actual speed. 190 kgs of steel with just 20 bhp? Power to weight ratio is a total miss match. Dominar-400 is contrary. Stable. Powerful and reliable though still not an eye catcher. My thumbs up up D-400 still.

Since I own a Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X Bs4, and also have ridden the dominar 400 a few times I can definitely tell that the dominar is much better bike than the royal Enfield 350s. I have done some rides in the 350 and it feels very underpowered in the open highways where even a Honda unicorn can easily overtake you while you can't cruise easily above 85-95kmph. The engine puts a lot of effort to reach triple digit speeds too. Yes it has that special feel of a royal enfield but it's not worth the money spent. The maintenance on the other hand is very high and service provided by the ASS is very poor. And the gear ratios are so bad that you eventually end up changing gears frequently and all the torque produced is not put to the road. I have seen many 350 owners using half clutch to avoid changing gears.
But the dominar feels much more powerful in the real world, it can keep speeds of 100-135kmph easily and takes very less effort to reach those speeds as well. We should accept the fact that in open highways no one is going to like going at 70-85kmph all the time. Whereas the millage part where royal Enfield can get a 33-39kmpl at speeds of 60-85kmph, in the same case the dominar can also return 30-36kmpl at those speeds.
Dominar is much better than the 350s in almost every regard.

6 Year Dominar Owner here. It is super reliable, stable, and superior in every single way to the ancient 350. I dont believe in cults, and i ride alone. Rest can hop on to the RE. That bike is like an insult to all the engineers in the country. I also own a Boxer CT, and i like it because it does not pretend to do something which it cant. Unlike RE which looks big but does nothing really on the road. That bike has not evolved because the people in the factory have not changed. They are busy doing pin stripes and paint jobs. No wonder , RE had to go all the way to UK to get the Interceptor 650 designed and put on the road.

Having owned a Thunderbird 350, I was looking for a lighter motorcycle and was considering some good highway motorcycles. I always had the Dominar in mind but didn't want to consider it because it weighs the same as RE's. After test riding almost 6-7 motorcycles within the 3 lakh category, I finally came to the conclusion about the Dominar:
Man, even if it's heavy, it's atleast fast and fun to ride. The same argument can be made about any top end motorcycle. Name one motorcycle above 650 cc that weighs below 180 kg.
I feel if you're looking for a motorcycle that's good in the city(good, not very good) and gives you the power in the highway with all the bells and whistles, there's very less competition to the Dominar now

Hi Kishor, I have the OG 2017 Dominar. The bike is fantastic and superbly reliable. One thing that bothers me is definitely the bike's weight in traffic. The Dominar is still in my family, but these days I'm riding the Hunter. It's a good city bike, very light, easy to maneuver in tight traffic, the mileage figures are pretty good, and the torque is nice. I went with RE just because I wanted a retro looking bike, and Triumphs are costly lol.
Hunter is good if you want something for cities, and a slow paced touring. With Domi, I used to easily maintain speeds of 120kmph, and the bike was brilliant in those speeds. With Hunter, I can cruise at 100, but the experience isn't as good as what Dominar offers. But the same 13l tank, and better mileage means my Hunter is a pretty decent tourer and city bike. Though, I don't get as confident as my Domi on high speeds. The brakes, the weight, the good tyres, everything made the Domi instill confidence when riding high speeds.
Also, I'm a big fan of the quality you get out of Dominar.
But there's a huge price difference between Domi and Hunter. And under 2lacs, Hunter is a justified bike.
You should give Hunter a try, and Domi too. Do not go with Classic, that bike isn't something I'll recommend anyone. Overpriced piece of junk tbh. Though the styling is good 😂

Had to go to my neighbouring city for some work , took my bs4 classic 350.
    Just 60kms one way.
It took me 2 hours to reach there .
i tried to keep a constant 80 but the engine was crying , hit 90kmph once on a decline and never touched 100kmph.
The vibrations made the mirrors useless.
    Anything above 60 was tough
    Above 70 was torture
My muscles still remember the suffering.
And now I m looking for a second hand domi 🤣 or maybe a new N250.
Forgot to mention the smell when the engine overheated.
Also the fact that how much I was missing a 6th gear.
My classic picks up 5th gear when I hit 50kmph and everything above that is handled by that gear only , and i feel like it is cursing me.
And those world famous wooden brakes. Brakes on my Enfield are like optional questions in exams, just won't help.
+ My spoke wheels led to punctures on my rear wheel 3 times , everytime in the dark after 10pm.
+ That stupid headlamp doesn't work , either I will have to upgrade my headlamp or get fog lamps installed on the leg guard.
OH YEAH , the WEIGHT , my classic topped up and with accessories can weight upto 200kgs. , I myself weigh a puny 56-57 kgs ,
I weighed almost 50-51 kgs when I got my classic .
So I don't think domi's weight will become an issue .

I have been riding Dominar 400 for the last four years. Trust me it’s a wonderful machine to ride. Headlights are adequate for a trip. Engine power delivery is lean, which is good on a high way and city. The instant power it delivers is amazing. Riding confirm with a handlebar raiser is a plus. Mileage between 25 to 30 based on the conditions. Munching miles is easy. Engine cooling system is well designed. Slipper clutch with ABS is a life saver.
Braking front are super sharp and reliable, however rear brakes are not that confident, rear suspension is below par. Large turning radius is a drawback. Managing with in city traffic is skill you need to learn. If you can manage little vibrations then it’s ok.
Spare parts are with in your budget.
Trust me my Dominar didn’t give any problem during my regular tours if you ride a Dominar 400 you will feel 100% safe with in city and highways.
I have had owned Thunderbird for six years and Himalayan for two years. They are good too, but any time can’t match with Dominar 400.
Thunderbird had a lot of vibrating and oil leakage from the engine and that was frustrating can’t cruise over 70 confidently
Himalayan is a beautiful machine. You can’t match it’s ride quality and off road ability with any other motorbike, but reliability 😢 you will have cone set issue, magnetic coil issue, if there is a puncher you are dead😅 and the service they provide at RE was terrible, unsure now.
Finally Dominar is the best and beast in its segment

And he has always been against the dominar, in the sense it doesn't really have a character of its own.As a sum of components there's no shying away that the Dominar is light years ahead of any bike in its segment.. so why doesn't it sell, firstly Bajaj customer experience, and also their inability to evoque any kind of emotions for the brand "Dominar". Bajaj is to blame for all of this, the kind of bike Dominar is it deserves much much better.

Every bike has its perk & quirks. Read the manual and learn how to handle the P&Qs of the bike. Then the bike, whatever it is, you will know it’s pros & cons and what to do and what not to do in rpm’s and the like. Imagine driving a Prius thinking it’s a Porsche 911 or a Dodge Charger. They are not the same also.

I don't think powerdrift said anything negative about dominar as such .... from their perspective , they prefer a machine with some character(for example when shumi clearly says duke 390 is better tourer than adv 390) ..... what makes powerdrift different from others is that they focus more on emotions a machine will make you feel rather than what utilities machine can fulfill ..... AND I understand why so many Dominar 400 owners are getting offended, because YOUR dominar is your friend and your best friend , But no one is saying your friend is bad , they're saying the chill and hippie enfield is a really fun friend to have.

Dominor is a nice motorcycle on paper and in specs, but not well engineered product. The straight line stability is fantastic but there ends the good points about dominor.
Top speed shouldn’t be a point of discussion on Indian highways because none of the Indian brands perform well in panic breaking situation when break from speeds higher than 100-120 , and any one who supports riding at 140 just because bike can accelerate (including influencers and media) is not a thinking motorcyclist.
Now coming to classic vs dominor, as mentioned in PD video classic is a better all rounder and I totally agree with Varun here. Classic can do speeds on 100-110 agree this is less than what dominor can achieve (but because of above said reasons I don’t feel high speed matters much for common man in India), has better suspension tune better riding feel and easy to ride even in slow moving traffic and more importantly has a more refined engine. All the above points can be proved with dominor sales as well which is heading south from a long time and bajaj is putting no effort to compete here.
I still feel Dominor can up the game but for that to happen bajaj needs to be pro active like RE and stop copying diavel to take on RE
