I been practicing cash envelope stuffing to help me budget my finances. I’ve been having to adjust to it but I can see how it’s working. With the holidays coming up I only wish I started sooner. However, I’m excited to see how the cash envelopes will help next year.

I love your videos! Been doing the cash envelope system since Aug 2018 and they money I have saved is crazy! Im trying to save up for moving out! And in 3 months I have over £1,500 saved! Doesn’t seem a lot at the moment but next year I am planing to save more!!!

Hey :) I started cash envelopes after watching Dave Ramsey and your videos and I tweaked mine a little to how yours used to be and now ours are pretty much exactly the same :) except our wallets and bills are different haha thank you for your inspiration and I love watching your videos :)
I just use Quicken and it tells me the predicted balance. I set recurring expenses and add hypothetical new expenses or income on there.
Can you do a video on how much makeup you can get at TJ Maxx vs Ulta? TJ Maxx has all the name brand makeup for cents on the dollar sometimes. Really great place to shop for products!
Thanks for being so consistent in these videos, not really sure why I get so much pleasure out of it but I do! I decided that I'm going to do a little less managing of my money online and split it up similarly to how you do it on your Capital One accounts/Wells Fargo and in the envelopes!

I’m trying to understand this so that I can start doing it!😊 so basically, you have a checking account that your paycheck gets direct deposited into. Then you also had like a capitol one account, (which for me would be my credit card account) where all of your auto bills come out. (For me that’s internet) and then you transfer over money from the checking to that account for the auto pays, and withdrawal the rest and put them in the envelopes? I feel like since I never see my money it spends so easily. I would love to start doing this! Thanks for showing it!👏🏼😍
You could use a Tracker in your BuJo now so you can track who has to buy dog food :) That might be a small addition to your weekly spread or your monthly spread :)

What do you do with the left over cash/change from the Spending envelope? I always have random $1 bills and coins just laying around. Part of me wants to save it in a jar, but the other part is like NOOOO SPEND IT ALL!!!! Lol.
I always put the coins in a jar and then when the jar is full I redeem it for cash and spend it on what I need. If one of my envelopes is short on something I'll add it to that, or if I'm all set with my envelopes it'll go toward my debt! Last time I saved my own butt because I had nothing saved for my copay for my new glasses but I had a jar full of coins! So that was good! But with the extra bills sometimes I'll let it roll over to the next pay period, and sometimes I'll take it out and put it toward my debt. I don't think there's anything wrong with spending it all! As long as you're conservative with your amount, that money is there to keep you from losing your mind from having NO money to spend on yourself! ❤️
Quick question: since your car insurance is a cash envelope not a transfer, how are you submitting that payment? Do you get money orders?
I'm under my parents' insurance, so I just hand my mother the cash 😊
Is your Disney account just for your monthly pass amount or that and spending money for Disney? Or do you use your spending money for anything at Disney?
That's my monthly pass amount. I need to add a Disney spending fund because I just used the last of it last time I went!

Do you leave any extra cushion money in your bank account?
I usually leave about $20 in my checking account at any given time "just in case". But now all of my auto-payments are through my Capital One account, not my Wells Fargo account where my direct deposit goes through. I do also have $1000 in my emergency fund/savings account 😊

I actually have a tuition waiver so I only have to pay for books, and I have enough set aside in a specific school savings to cover the next two semesters or so of books.

That's exactly what I do 😊 The "debt snowball" amount that I put down at 5:17 is the amount from this paycheck that is going toward my debt.
Alyssa Herbert Oh I meant like the $20 you had from groceries. lol Why don’t you add that to spending or anything instead just rolling it over in groceries? Is it just personal preference?
Oh! It totally depends. Some weeks I would put that in spending. Other weeks I'd put it toward my debt snowball, or a different envelope that is lacking. It's totally dependent on each week. This week I'd like thai food, so I know I need a little extra! And technically that money was intended for food so I don't feel guilty using it for that 😊

Does any cashiers or people in line look at you weird when you have a certain envelope you go to. In your other wallet you could secretly pull the money out, but with this wallet you can see the different sections clearly. Has anyone asked you about your system in public?
Honestly no one ever does! Unless I go to the bank! The people at my bank are always super curious about why I get my money in a specific breakdown and everything. I am always more than happy to talk about it and the teller I see quite regularly now is actually a viewer! 😂 I haven't shopped in public with this new wallet very often but I have a feeling it'll get some questions now that the envelopes are so visible. I'm always willing to spread the word 😂
