Matt, thank you for arranging this enlightening interview with Mike and Rubel. Great questions; great answers ... and I so much appreciate your ongoing ministry with Wineskins.
So well done; thank you Matt for bringing this to us. Ken and I headed up to Jubilee in Nashville in the summer of 92 for the main purpose of seeing our friend Rubel. We wanted to be renewed with his words of wisdom and also let him meet his namesake, our little daughter Shelly. Turns out we were both proud new parents! He met Shelly and then gave us a copy of the new publication “Wineskins”. We continued to receive it over the years and it planted the seeds of “thinking outside the box” in our spiritual lives. We were thrilled to meet Matt and find this digital family of believers where we are safe to discuss truth. Love Wineskins and don’t think the full extent of the good done will be known in this lifetime.
Thanks for doing this Matt. It was great hearing these stories. The first issue came out the same time I began full-time ministry within churches of Christ and it was, quite often, such a great lifeline. Even though I grew up super-saturated within the CofC world, I was somewhat shellshocked when legacy church politics put me in front of the firing squad over and over again. I was just trying to love Jesus, share his love, be transparent, worship Him in a relevant way and lead others to Him. This magazine resource helped me work through issues that might have driven me away from ministry completely. Wow, 30 years and Kingdom work on four continents later, I can look back at this resource with great thankfulness that it helped me stick it out.
Thank you so much for hosting this special anniversary interview with two of the modern day giants of our fellowship, Matt. Wineskins was one of the pivotal resources the Lord used to fashion the faith of this (at the time) boy preacher. My respect for both Rubel and Mike knows no bounds. In the words of brother Edward Fudge, Rubel and Mike are “Jesus men.” ✝️
Thank you for this interview. Both of these men so instrumental in my faith journey through their teaching and writing. I was longtime subscriber to Wineskins and devoured each issue.
Lines and boundaries are not fungible nor is it our responsibility to draw them. They are drawn by scripture. Our job and responsibility is to spot light those boundaries. No amount of rationalization is going to move God from his position. It is written.

Thank you for your graciousness in allowing me into the Wineskins story! Thank you for all the work you put into it over the years Keith!

I had no idea Wineskins was 30 years old.
I thought you, Matt, was the guy who started it.
Credit where it is due...we are standing on the shoulders of giants! I got involved in 2013.
