Massive respect for actually fixing the motors before sale, restores the faith within the second hand car community 👏
Just thinking the same
agreed
He says “A VW group car so it probably doesn’t work” while driving an old Range Rover 😂
Which is still working perfectly btw
@@HighPeakAutosfor now......😂
@@HighPeakAutosHow much have you "MASSIVELY OVERSPENT" to get the Range Rover in the condition it is in now?
CLOWN
Who put 50p in the Range Rover haters club?
Maximum respect for not leaving that oil filler cap upside down. 👌
The Leon 2.0 TDI FR (184 BHP); pre April 2017 is the car to have as it had all round independent suspension, did 0 - 60 in 7.5 seconds, had LOADS of torque, returned 60mpg and cost £30 to tax.
Owned mine for a good four years and sold it on 55k
I’ve got the 1.4 Petrol FR and it’s a great car with 148bhp and only £30 tax. Your car definitely has the Technology pack and maybe Winter pack as well with heated seats and headlight washers. I think those alloys were an option as well. One of the best cars I’ve ever had and nothing major has gone wrong in 7 years.
0 - 60 in either 7.5 or 8.5 seconds if my memory serves me right
yeah it does
I have a 2.0 Tdi with 184hp. I love the car... the engine and way how it drives is amazing.
Annoying things though are the extremely tough suspension and the rattles in the interior.
The car is now 7yo and has 130k km in it and picked up the most awful rattle inside the dash. Haven't been able to figure it out and it's driving me crazy. Might actually sell the car because of it.
@@phvrodrigues Have you checked the instrument cluster glass? Mine was rattling from there.
@@benfurtado8708 yeah good suggestion because that was the first thing I fixed. Now it’s inside the dash behind the screen in the middle
My Dad owned the estate version of the FR from new and thoroughly enjoyed it. His was finished in Technic Grey which is very smart and much more interesting than the more typical Monsoon Grey. It also featured the panoramic sunroof. For anyone looking for a spacious yet compact estate car this is a very good choice. The fitment of Michelin tyres to this car make quite a difference to its overall appeal. Thank you.
I have one myself and it's just super versatile. Definitely a good all-rounder.
How's Matt bought a Seat Leon for that year for just £3000? That's insane!
It's a diesel. Prolly isn't Ulez compliant.
@@Abir-Kl true but these models of seat still go for a lot higher price
@@Abir-KlULEZ only an issue for a small percentage of the country
@@ScottZ370 it's being expanded constantly. It's already in other major cities like Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, etc. Give it a few more years and ulez will probably apply to every city in the UK.
@@Abir-KlMost cities have ULEZs now but it’s primarily for larger vehicles like trucks and buses. The only ones where it applies to cars to my knowledge apart from London are Birmingham and Bristol.
I've watched many of these vids now and you Matt are definitely going to see me in person when I want to change my car. Your prep is so thorough and you are totally straight about the cars you sell.
Very refreshing and reassuring for the purchaser.
driving 200 miles to see him is a problem for me.
I had a SEAT diesel and it was a proper workhorse !!! I got a great price when I sold it. Bought it from new, had it for 4 years and 50k ,full dealer service and it was always clean inside and out. It shows that looking after things always pays off.
Another great video Matt.
This is why you are the 'go to man'. Many dealers would not take the trouble, or the money to change the cam belt, water pump etc. Thanks Matt, you The Man!
Thanks for another cracking video Matt - I know many others say it, but your attention to detail is so impressive and it’s heartening to know there are really genuine people like you in the car trade who are willing to do the ‘right’ thing. Good on you 😊
“I screwed the plates on & put the matts in, I am basically a mechanic “ 😂😂 great vlog again 👍🏻😎
It is outstanding how much cheaper cars are in the Uk compared to Spain. Less than 4000 euros for that car is impossible here, even if they are damaged and have a zillion miles. Here if you find one that's under 10000 euros with the 2.0 tdi engine you are either lucky or getting scammed
Reminds me of my 2015 Toyota Auris, best car I've ever had. There's a lot to be said for a mid-sized diesel hatchback. Quite a universal car really, for the vast majority of singles, couples or families they're perfectly fine. SUVs are popular at the moment because for a lot of people it's a case of "keeping up with the Joneses" and they believe it makes them more aspirational. But in practice they don't really give you a great deal more than an Astra.
The led headlights that most of these come fitted with really makes them look a lot more modern than most of the equivalent age golf mk7 and I prefer the styling to the golf
I think one Leon is one of the best aging cars around, you could take the number plate off a 2013 Leon like this and you’d never know its age, a good condition one could pass as a new car
I had a 2015 one of these. The headlights are stunning, but god awful at actually lighting the road. After 4 years of ownership, it was the reason I parted with it
@@WillMorgan89 Yeah I have heard that there not actually that bright despite being led but the facelift has brighter lights
Love these video Matt.
Especially the think-out-loud narration and step-by-step videoing.
Not only is it greatly entertaining but for many of us extremely educational in the arena of cars and money management!
Keep it up.👌🏽🌟
This is a very good looking car, with the angular shape, it looks like it’s moving fast when it’s standing still.
You should have no problem selling that one Matt, especially now you’ve improved its paintwork and worn interior .
I hope so. Cheers
Was a fair offer. The reality is you take all the risk on these and liability for the prep. Well done Matt
That’s true
Love the videos as always man😊
Great video Matt. I love that you actually get things done right to your vehicles before you sell them. A true gent in the industry!
Out of interest, did you pick this up at auction to get it so cheap?
Wtf… 7k? The guy that sold it to you for 3k , probably watching this and crying 😮
I learn so much from these videos 👍🏼
Great content Matt!!!!
Hi Matt , It's because you have the attention to detail you have raised the bar! Many congratulations. As they say, retail is detail.
Not impressed with Phil the upholstery guys work. Did he get his guide dog to put that stitching seam where it is on the upright bolster. 😂
Nice one matt you deserve to do well .Keep up the great work
Another fab video Matt! Thanks
So many people sell the cars without fixing them. The care you put into the cars is amazing albeit often to your own detriment but not on this occasion; well done!
Was pleased to see this video as I've owned 3 Leon's in my time (the MK2, MK3 and currently the MK4 FR). All been great cars and mechanically very sound. Nice to drive, cheap to run and style wise look better than its sister car, the Golf.
Looks like a good solid car for somebody!
Another great video , as usual!!!
What an excellent video, keep up the good work
What a great channel this is honest and to the point 👍😎
Had my Leon FR TDI ST for 3.5years and love it! Chilli Red and done over 55K trouble free miles so far 👍
Had a MK2 Octavia vRS TDI. Very similar to the Leon I believe. It was an awesome car and plenty quick enough yet still super economical. Would love to see you do a video on one someday. 🙏
WOW that makes a change! A turn around that didn’t completely bite you on the arse 😂 good luck to you Matt 👏🏻👍🏻
Great video as always.
Chuffed you're getting a turn of the profit. Bet you wish it was always as straightforward as this one?😊
Keep up the good work!👍
Great video as always Matt, and it’s probably still on your to-do-list but I’d get them parking sensors looked at as they still seem a bit temperamental and would be sure to be off putting to a perspective buyer 👍🏻
My second car is a Leon fr 150bhp and I have to say I love it.50mpg and reliable .They handle great and still look good.Youll sell that no bother. The 1.4tsi engine is a peach.
Another great video Matt.
You’re one of very few traders I would buy a car from. Hat tip to you for being so honest.
Are you doing a video about the Golf GT? That’s a really nice looking car.
Great video Matt, as always! 🙌
I know this video is about the SEAT Leon , but I don’t half love the interior to that Range Rover! Them seats get me every time! 😍😍😍
Seat - a Spanish VW. I drove a 51 reg Seat Toledo for five years to 2010 (VW Bora) and it was trouble free, went like manure off a shovel and had style. One of the very best I've driven.
Actual bargain that, I ran the Leon Owners Club for a number of years and owned a fair number of Cupra's and FR's. I went to the Spain and UK launch of the MK3, that is a quite high spec for a FR. My old negative comment will be the repair to the seat, why has he put a join in the material half way down looks bad that.
your paint receipt is extremely good. a friend of mine had his taxi polished a couple of weeks ago. for just a polish, it was £200
Finally you got my car❤ i have the 1.2 tsi with 110 hp.i love this car.
Nice car, hope it goes well for you. Great Video as always
Great video as always Matt always liked this generation Leon nearly bought an FR a little while a go but ended up buying a Golf GT instead, funnily enough I bought my Golf from the same dealership that your GTI originated from Capitol VW in Merthyr Tydfil.
I got to be honest I'm quite a fan of VW group cars as mainstream motors go you do feel a bit more quality and durability.
Same here, except I couldn’t quite find a decent GT that hadn’t done too many miles for my budget, so I got a Match Edition instead.
I used to be a Ford fanboy and tbh I still like the modern classics from the 90s and 00s, but after my Fiesta packed in due to a dodgy cooling system, and after learning about the EcoBoom horrors driving me away from getting a newer Fiesta or a Focus, I too have migrated to VW. I’ve even got a 2 year warranty and service plan with them.
I do really like these cars. It's just something about a sensible and yet existing car I appreciate
Great car and potential profit with no nasty surprises for a change. Your Green Range Rover has really grown on me too. I wasn't keen on the colour combination at first but as I've seen it on the channel I now think it's really classy .
Nice car. A friend has one exactly the same and rags it every time - the thing flies yet is still really comfy inside.
Another great video 👍
That’s a really nice car Mat. With all the spec to get it for 3k is a real steal. Well done 👏 🎉
Finally! The gardener has arrived....love the content.
Hello Matt, really enjoy your videos, this is Rickie from down under. I notice your service costs are cheaper than here in Australia. I feel for you spending bucket loads on a car you just bought, that’s my story as well, not enough home work, buy thru the heart rather then the mind. The only thing I would like to add in relation with using car vertical, is to do it as late as you can before the purchase. There have been cases where someone purchased a car ran a check, all clear and picked up the car a few days later, and in the meantime money was borrowed against it! Keep up the good work Matt , love your work. Regards Rickie
Having owned a couple of these i can tell you you've found a jem there! Spec is unreal! This car defo has both tech and winter packs along with a few other optional extras. Literally dont think theres been an option left off this car.
I currently own a 2.0tdi 2018 leon st excellence(non adblue), which is ULEZ compliant. The fact this car has the same engine, if not a slightly different revision and is not ULEZ compliant is very frustrating.
I have a 3 door 2014 FR in the same colour. Mine is the titanium edition with grey mirrors and matching unique 18s. Love it! It has been really reliable and cheap to tax, good on diesel and £30 tax. Mine has 68k and it’s tight as a drum 👍🏻 60 mpg is a stretch though, I average 40-50 with the 2.0 diesel 184
Really enjoyed this one
I'm glad!
Great cars, also got the 2013 FR 2.0 diesel. Had it years and been the best car ever. Also still very good looking and doesn’t seem to age.
Hi Matt,
Just check, does one of the icon on the expansion bottle (header tank) show Mit Silicat, these have a silicone sachet in the expansion bottle that have been identified as bursting on older VW group vehicles and the granules block the heater matrix etc, leading to costly flushing , replacement repairs, the silicone bag cannot always be removed without rupturing, but a replacement expansion bottle can be sourced relatively cheaply (without silicone) via e bay!
Fantastic video once again. In defence of VW, I have been using a Tiguan allspace 1.4 for 5 years now ,and I must say it’s been faultless so far. Not all VW’s are bad I feel. 😊
Owned a 2015 Leon Fr 2.0tdj 184bhp for the last 3 years. In that time ive put 55000 miles on it and the only thing outside of normal maintenence was a throttle body. Gets the thumbs-up from me!
I literally watch every video! so entertaining😂💪🏼
Mat , love the content as always ! Merry Christmas 🎉
Thanks! You too!
I didn't realise how popular the Leon FR was until brought my own ST version FR this year in April. These cars are everywhere..
Yet I've been watching this channel for years and years yet not once has an Mk3 FR ( yet alone a Mk 3 leon ) has even been featured.
But im actually glad at least one has finally been featured. Its such a fantastic deal with high specs. Congratulations for once🎉
You never realise how common a particular car is until you buy one 😂
Looks good. I’m only scared about ULEZ but the car i would love to own. What a beautiful car
I've got the Cupra version, nice car well equipped being the Lux model. Ridiculously quick but understated, much rarer than its golf R and S3 cousins.
Still a Vag car so expecting it to break one day and cripple me.
All the best Matt
Fab. You are right about attention to detail.
They are nice looking cars, my niece loves her Seat. Good luck with the sale.
I owned a 17 plate 5 door FR with those wheels, really good looking car. had the 1.8 petrol in, superb car that in hindsight I regret selling.
Your ability to add registration plates Matt is clearly the kingpin of your business success! Trade to trade is hard work but great fun
Shame to hear that Seat are pulling out of car production.
They filled the gap between Skoda and VW and had some desirable designs.
This one should sell quickly for you Matt.
I heard they were carrying on under the cupra brand
From what Matt has said it will only be the higher end Cupra models that will continue to be made,
the mass market models will be filled by Skoda and VW.@@McNasty214
I was waiting for the I've massively overspent 😂 congratulations you got a great car 😁
Nice car Matt and an easy one for you this time 😊
A very nice experience. You seem to have bought well 🎉
Since he looks after his cars so well, he tends to attract similar customers too! "You get what you give" :)
Leon’s always a solid a car 👍🏻
Patch job on the upper seat bolster was a bit rough though
I thought the same such a shame wasn’t done properly to the whole seat panel. Doesn’t look right.
I thought the whole panel should have been replaced. Doesn't look rough though just looks different to original and therefor not right. Still a really nice car though.
@@willxv226 thought exactly the same . My ocd playing up!
Great video as usual. I have the1.4 petrol FR Sports Tourer. Purchased new in 2015 for £19k. Full Seat history. 80k miles and nothing has gone wrong so I'mreally happy after 8 years. MPG 45-55 avg. Road tax now £35 I think. Great cars.
Great buy. two things I noticed one was seat repair had a bad join after done right in eye view. Was funny your switched on both heated seats even though only you in it. 😂 love your videos. Why don’t you have the cost and totals come up on the video think that will make it come alive for us viewing.
Look out for those header 'coolant' tanks some have silica gel pack inside them to prolong the coolant life! eventually they burst and block the heater matrix .... (not very easy to get too)
That's a lovely car. Matt, you should recommend that the new owner gives it the anti- UV two stage paint waxing treatment, to stop it fading to pink. It'd be well worth it, for such a smart looking car.
Your sense of humour Matt just cracks me up I'm sure you would earn money as a stand up comedian but I'm obsessed with your vids and nail varnish lol 😅😂
Matt, can you please et back to doing test drives in the Peak. I love the Peak and they were the highlights for me.
Ta
I prefer those too but they just don’t get the views. I’ll try and do some more
I was really expecting nasty surprises! 😂😂😂 That fr Leon will definitely sell keep them cheap cars coming matt
Bloody good car, the Seat Leon FR diesel. Had one for 8 years and very little problems - good acceleration, nice looks, solid.
I knew that VW were wondering what to do with the SEAT name as CUPRA has become so popular but I can't imagine the Spanish buying CUPRAS as they are more expensive and sportier than the SEAT.
looks like the upholstery guy did a extra cut and stitch on the driver side backrest bolster for the repair. Unless he did the same thing on the other side, or else it does look rather weird and half arse.
Great video. Very very nice car
i recommend cleaning behind the wheel arch liners. muck builds up that area and causes rust on the sills and wings. common vw fault but especially in seats it seems. very common in mk2 leon and mk4 ibiza
I love your videos!!
Thanks!
Nice car my son has one and loves it. I’d like to see content on how you use Auto Trader, costs and the pros n cons selling on such platforms 👍🏾
I have owned 3 Seats they're great cars very reliable I currently have the leon & it's brilliant beautiful looking cheap to run it has never let me down!
Panel gaps look super sharp as well 👍
Glad you've found a winner! You might have a new catchphrase of you keep it up!
The 3-door Leon! I have seen 2 of these in 10+ years. Looks very fine.
had a 17 plate Leon FR as a courtesy car few years ago, absolutely loved it. i just thought the 7 speed automatic gearbox was too much for a 1.4 engine, it confused itself when it came to speed bumps
I love how this is £3000 in the UK and 10,000€ in Europe
And 13,000€ in Portugal.
only if you are a trader or get lucky. My mate is selling the same model but with much higher mileage for 6500 UK quids.
Love your videos matt and your middle class humer. What always puzzles me is why you guys all think VAG cars are unreliable. I've been in the taxi trade for nearly 15 years and we sware by VW & Skoda. They keep going when the Koreans, French etc have all gave up the ghost. I regularly see passats, octavia, superb go way past 400k. The most unreliable cars we have ever had in the taxi - Vauxhall Insgnia, Kia Optima and Hyundai i40. All utter junk. Ford Mondeo 2 liters have always been pretty solid too, the mk4 especially. Keep up the good work mate
I have this car 2016 auto - honestly an amazing car, surprised how its held up to this day! Quite reliable.
Great video
Nice one Matt made some good profit on this very good car .
Yes hope you make this sort of profit on every car you sell in 2024
Kevin
I'm happy that I'm not the only one struggling that a 63 plate car is 10 years old...
In my head its a 4/5 years ago.
