Elliott Fullam of Little Punk People spoke with Johan Hegg of AMON AMARTH on his tour bus at the Prudential Center in NJ before their show with Megadeth, Suicidal Tendencies & Metal Church. They talk about their fear of heights, which singers he'd pick to become a heavy metal god, vikings, beer, the first metal records he bought and much more in this light-hearted interview. These guys are a must-see band! Their show was incredible!!!

It's funny how these "intimidating" guys are always the nicest. You see them on stage or you see such guys on the street and it's like, oh no, vikings, bikers, whatever, don't look at them. But then you start talking to them and they are really friendly and funny people. Goes to show, don't judge people by their looks. And I would definitely have a beer with Johan.
They're so chill because they get all their anger and aggression when they perform.

\m/ no problem. I seen them live in concert twice. I also have pretty much all their albums to date. you can see a few videos from their show in Boston I shot last April if you want.
Funny how all these guys that play aggressive music and look really intimidating on stage and then when you sit down with them they are super nice down to earth people.
Well, getting all aggression out musically makes you calm and nice. :)

I don't even know how can I express how much I admire Johan. A gentle and friendly guy who you could go for a beer and talk about anything you want to. I'm seeing them in a month and I hope I'll meet him personally before or after the show. Such an inspirational guy

This is one of the very best interviews I've seen in a long time! Why? Because the interviewer asks his questions, shuts the hell up while he gets the answer, and brings some good, funny and SHORT comments, and is polite, positive and nice!
Also, Johan Hegg seems like a very nice guy, down to earth, and with a great sense of humor. All in all, GOLD!!! \m/

The is the most metal thing I've ever seen. This kid knows how to interviews. No scripted ad placements, no promotions, just a badass dude talking to another badass dude.
This kid has major charisma; And a more humble interviewer than some adults! Hes not redunant, doesnt come off as star struck, listens, & even responds at the appropriate time with his insights. Really cool.

Johan is the man. So down to Earth and just a normal sounding guy that doesn't seem like a jerk or someone that is a jerk that let success get to him.
Johan is such a chill guy, he's someone I'd want to be friends with.
For someone so young this guy knows how to interview really well and has really great confidence on camera.

I like the mix of fairly standard questions like "what's your favourite song to play on the latest record" as well as some unusual questions that normal interviewers probably wouldn't think to ask. It does help that Johan seems like a normal guy who just happens to play in a fairly big band. He's not got that "I'm a rockstar" vibe about him whatsoever.

I always love seeing interviews with Johan. Amon Amarth is such a brutal band, but he's so soft spoken and seems like such a nice guy.

All us Scandinavians speak English pretty well, we speak Swedish, then we have to do English, and then another language, in Gymnasiet we can pick one more
A lot of Scandinavians speak English as well as, if not better than, many native English speakers. It never fails to humble me when I travel in that part of the world how accommodating they are to us clumsy monolinguals.
Why is it surprising. Everything is in English these days. We basically live on Planet America.

Subscribed. This interview is so fantastic. Maybe we need more kids to do entertainment interviews. Honest, No pretense. And questions out of the blue that are as intruiging as surprising (in an excellent way), Also, now checking out this band. I love these guys as people, from what I have seen.
