Thank you and bon voyage!
Being in New Zealand I still look at Hull with a happy heart.
Hull is actually a pretty little place considering it went was largely wrecked in WW2 and suffered post industrial decline. A lot of the regeneration work has paid off. Lovely city -- by far not the worst place in the UK.
It’s a wonderful place.. funny it’s always made fun of.. the history is incredible .. I feel The old town and docks hide some secrets of our past as a country.
Thankyou, you have captured my hometown very well, and especially in the area I lived and worked in when I did live in Hull and I miss..And when its safe for me to return due to the Covid Pandemic I will be returning for sure..
I’ve lived here all my life, I love visiting all the areas in town, personally I find that it’s a place where if you grew up here, you tend to never move away, I know generations of people who have lived here their whole lives!
I couldn't wait to move away, that was over 40 years ago. I have no desire to move back.
I will get there someday. This video is another postcard on the sun visor of the car that is my life.
I left Hull 37 years ago and couldn't wait to see the back of it. Haven't been back much. However I visited twice last year and now I have new found respect - and dare I say, love- for the place. I see it with fresh eyes now. Always thought it was dog ugly but now see a really attractive city. Can't wait to get back again.
We dont want you back you traitor, hahaha
Nicely done 👍you got the beauty of the place and the birds singing perfect.
You've missed the best bits: the Old Town and the Museum Quarter both of which are utterly charming and which the devastating bombing of WW2 managed to miss. Hull's most famous sons are William Wilberforce, followed by the poet, Andrew Marvel: you show the statue of Philip Larkin so why not the one of AM and, most importantly, Wilberforce House in the Old Town which is now a museum? Some superb, historic pubs in that area too. It's the part of Hull that most tourists love to visit and it changes their mind about the sort of place this city is. I was at Hull uni when Larkin was librarian, 55 years ago, and enjoyed it even then. I returned a couple of years ago when it was City of Culture and rediscovered it. I enjoyed myself so much that I've promised myself a return trip.
Hi and thanks for the comment. I only had a limited amount of time and I pretty much went without a plan, just to have an aimless wander. I know that there is much mre to see in Hull and i will include a much wider range of sites when I next return in 2024.
@@stuartmoss I look forward to your return. I did enjoy your wander around the city centre: the lack of people allowed us all to admire the fine civic buildings.
thanks for this; I lived at the Hull International House on Westbourne Avenue for about an year in early '90s. Really loved the locals with several of whom I made good friends.. very artistic.. welcoming people I met...
Gran used to take me to see the Queens Gardens fountain at Christmas. It was beautifully lit up with coloured lights. I remember the circular path round the fountain was uneven. Something to do with subsidence not having backfilled the dock correctly in the 30's I suppose it was. I'm talking 50's when I was a wee 'un. Oh, and the Christmas tree in Paragon Station. Probably don't do either these days....
Thanks for a great video of my home town - come back again soon to see all the recent improvements :)
Thanks Lesley, I will be returning at some point in 2020 or 2021. 😊
I studied in Hull...i love the town...nice cozy place
Cozy ???....... cozy you said nah your wrong there
It’s a dump I say a DUMP Hull 🖕 🔥 💣🖕💣🔥🖕🔥🖕🖕🖕💣🔥🔥💣💣💣🖕
@@jackssstaylor7438 You're on every comment section of every video - you're obsessed with the place! You'll be screaming the city's name while those men in white coats are dragging you off to the rubber room. Get a grip.
My grandad used to run the King Billy pub shown in this video!
I was born in Hull and lived there until I was 18. I go back occasionally but not very often. It was lovely to see this video of all the interesting places Hull has to offer - made me feel quite nostalgic. Thanks for sharing :)
RONNO!........I was born in Hull 1967 Hessle rd and bean st....moved to Canada back in 74 everyone I knew there's gone now or just disappeared funny what time does ...fate its vicious 'n' cruel.
what, your entire 2nd grade classmates have moved on? everyone you knew smh

I can’t wait to come 🙂
I have been to all of these places!
I live near spring bank
I know every place in hull cus im born there and i still live here
I born in Hull 47, and lived there till we emigrated in 1973. Been back to Hull 6 times in the intervening years, and love it every time we go back. It's my roots after all, you never forget. Not keen on the three foot wide parking spaces though. Too used to all the room we have in Oz. In our retirement years I've often thought I'd like to go back and live somewhere in Holderness, but too bloody cold in winter I fear...
Its perfect 😍😍😍love the places... ❤️
Looks pretty nice! I am going in 2 months for a small holiday and this for sure helped
This is interesting.. i googled my last name and found so much information kinda cool
You're one Hull of a man.
EXCELLENT FILMING & EDITING FOR GRAND ENJOYABLE VIEWING HERE IN SOUTHER CALIFORNIA 👍😃 THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR TRAVELS
Robert Quick thank you! :)
My beautiful hometown.
to think that my mums best friends husband has a plaque for him and his band is genuinely so cool
The position of the sun and the lack of traffic indicate that this was filmed very early in the morning 😴
pavlova55 it was mostly between 09:00 and 11:00 on a Sunday.
Moss Travel Media Ah, Sunday morning. That makes sense 👍. Wonderful shots btw. Makes me proud to live in this special place 👏
pavlova55 Thanks!
I was gonna say this must be a Sunday, it's too quiet.
It made me comfortable.😊
i live there i been in that art with my school trip
You missed out the museum quarter and high street :(
Who else lives in hull? I do. In fact 2 days ago I went on a train from hull to London and then back to hull.
I do
and me :)
Hulls a dump I hope your not racist cos that’s what every one is racist basturds miserable al set a bomb to the fucking dumb city 💣🔥😂
Would love to do that. Bit far from Oz though. Mind you when we were back in Hull in 2018 we finally managed a ride on a steam loco, Pickering to Whitby and back. Fanbloodytastic...
Hessle Rd born and bred!
Why highlight Bsll solicitors and not William Wilberforce 🤔
It is okay I live there
This is where my ancestors were from
I'm glad I never visited Analby Road. Sounds a bit suspect to me. Waterhouse Lane was were it used to be. Maybe you mean Anlaby road. Lol. Definitely early Sunday morning footage. Born and bred there - and outside of the cozy tourist traps - it's a different matter.
Yup, unfortunately the spellchecker didn't see that one!
It's Anlaby Road not Analby Road
I live in hull on gypsyvill✌
Your label of "Whitefriargate" appears a little too early. What you're showing at that point is the Beverley Gate excavation. Whitefriargate is the pedestrian shopping street you show just after it.
Thanks for the info, I do sometimes make mistakes which unfortunately I can’t correct once uploaded. I’ll live and learn!
Yes correct, no idea of the places,, not originally from hull
I live here
Looks like a ghost town,deserted.
Why hometown is a maziang
Calum Scott brought me here
Dancing on my own :D
Where I’m from ❤️
Why is the city empty?
Sunday morning
Zombie apocalypse mate!
because its a shit hole
@@christiand6058 And you sound like one.
You could remove the fish eye .
Dylan Ray & Photography It was filmed on a Hero6, the fish eye is unfortunate at times, but the wide angle is superb for buildings and street scenes.
@@stuartmoss yea i see , but its still nice well done
Dylan Ray & Photography cheers mate!
Blimey - where is everyone...!
fgyk
Idk why it was called the city of culture it’s boring and generic
