@@happymittens92 Chris Columbus, who directed this film, also directed the first two HP films. He said he wanted to use this actor but then J.K Rowling said all the actors needed to be British. I’m not sure if he auditioned but the director had him in mind.

@dominiquewilburn5596 yeah I knew that was one of Rowlings' stipulations is she wanted all the characters to be played by British actors and I didn't think this kid was British. But I could still totally see him as Harry. Daniel Radcliffe played the role perfectly but if he hadn't this kid would have been great too!
