    One of the kitchen suppliers was advising againts hob with integrated extractor, claiming the heat would damage the inside of the cabinet, too much heat would draw to your legs, and ultimately it would ruin your floor as well. As mentioned earlier, not too many reviews or articles can be found for hobs with integrated extractors..so no sure who to believe to.
    We can only go with recirculate airflow in the new apartment..we can either choose a built-in extractor in the wall cabinet ( still unclear to me how would it circulate the air unless the top of the cabinet is open) or this type of hob..which seems way more practical.
    Extraction performance in recirculated extraction seems to be very similar, but this type starts the process from a few cm-s, while the top extractor is 50+ cm from the hob, with the same power.
    TBH I never had a top extractor which performance satisfied me.. would love to hear your opinion on this one!
    I take you have like 5-10cm till the back of your kitchen cabinet..how much cleaning you need to do on the other side/floor?
    Thank you for your answer!

      Hi, I have no issues with the cabinet and overheating, I have a drawer with some stuff that I regularly open during cooking. Haven't noticed any unusual heat when cooking 30 mins or so, there is a separate fan that blows on the electricity parts when you cook. This is not the extractor. Warm heat I never noticed more like cold airflow, depends on what you cook. Mine does not exit on my toes, but to the back of my island, and people more complain when it's too cold of an airflow. I sometimes put it on in summer when it gets too warm :p.
      The floor has no issues, there is nothing that exits appart from air which can be a bit moist depending. Damaging the floor is a bit far fetched I have a vinyl laminate which is moist resistant. The exit It's not on the floor but 5 cm above in your plint so no direct contact. Performance is good when you cook normal. The lower your pot the better it works, and put your lid to the center, then it works great. Cleaning is super easy. The cooking smell is something you will have with all the recirculation as there is no real removal of air although there are 5 carbon filters.
      Cheers

      @@luliebassett they appear to have them, AEG keeps redirecting me to my local country so can't really tell for you. The website states that they don't fit in my model but i think their website just removed the older models. Just make sure they are 10*10*5 cm with the magnets on the sides and you are good. its just a carbon filter nothing magic about them. 7321423869658 should fit according to another website, again local to my country. Just don't overpay for it.

    How do AEG compare to other makes of hob with this kind of extractor? We know someone with a Bora Basic system but I can't find much in the way of comparative reviews.

    • @omnionmedia
      @omnionmedia  Před 4 lety +1

      Yes it is hard to find any real life footage of them all, since they are still somewhat uncommen in most households. I'm pretty satisfied of this one after almost a year. I cook everyday and my girlfriend too. I have yet to reheat the carbon filters for the first time. Not so much bad smells or anything. Depends on what you do ofcource. Not a single scratch on the glass to mention.

    why cant we hear the proper sound effects of the downdraft. i need to know how noisy it is and not listen to some awful music.

    • @omnionmedia
      @omnionmedia  Před 4 lety +1

      How would a video recording ever tell you how noisy something is :) every mic records different, exaggerating different aspects with a different gain and also there is the volume you set on your device and playback.... If I were to discribe it stand 3 is moderate easy to talk over and usually works for easy cooking in a pan for some water vapour. 5 or 6 is already heavy duty cooking with high pots at talking volume anything above that is harder to hear / communicate over if your partner is far away. Power stand is a jumbo jet flying over, just kidding, it sucks quite hard and is still quiter as a vacume.

    Wij hebben in 2018 getekend voor onze keuken met deze AEG kookplaat. Echter zal deze kookplaat vervangen worden voor een nieuwer model. Namelijk de AEG IDE84243IB, kunnen jullie mij vertellen wat naast het uiterlijk veranderd is?

    • @omnionmedia
      @omnionmedia  Před 4 lety +1

      I don't have this design but you can check their site to compare between versions. Know that they probably license the design incl the features so I wouldn't expect the same exact features per se. Elica in the US sold the same design slightly modified. You can probably find a demo on CZcams sooner or later explaining the installation and main features. This was a 2017 design so it took 3 years to reach the current price point and availability on Amazon. I don't see them doing the same thing any time soon with their newer model so you can save some money here if you can live with a older model which is still excellent. Hope this helped you a bit.

    Thank you for this video! Can you describe the burner patterns of the hob and how a maxisense ( i guess this one has it?) can truely deal with different sizes?

    • @omnionmedia
      @omnionmedia  Před 4 lety

      hi, not sure what you mean with maxisense but different pots heat at different speeds due to their material, also if your pot is less then 15cm or so it doesn't trigger the fire pit to go active. i have 1 pan that barely gets hot at 7 and an other smaller one that burns your food at 7. i hope that awnsers your question!

    Thanks for this video, I've tried finding information about this. I have a question: Are the touch controls a bit slow and unresponsive, or what's your impression?

    • @omnionmedia
      @omnionmedia  Před 4 lety

      Well yes they are as with most touch fire pits I know. At first it bothered me as well but then I got to know them. Also I have to admit it was me who didn't know how to use them correctly until I read the guide, first you press the heater you want to manipulate which is the + , a light goes on, then you press again for adjusting the + or -. I didn't get that at first. I started pressing - straight away expecting it to do something. Also your hand can't be super wet or something when pressing and wait until it does something before releasing your finger. Yes it's not your smartphone :)

    • @omnionmedia
      @omnionmedia  Před 4 lety +1

      I had to cut the shape out of the cabinet sides. So you need at least a cabinet on both side for support. It is 81 cm wide i believe so it surpasses the 80cm of the outer side of the cabinet and you need to spread the 1 cm into the other cabinets side panels, eighter 1 cm to one or 0,5+0,5 to both. I used a multi cut tool to do the job and a silicone layer to make the wood moist proof.

    • @omnionmedia
      @omnionmedia  Před 4 lety

      Hi and Thank you! Well the Ikea cabinet is 80 cm on the outside, the combohub is larger that means you can only install it when you have multiple cabinets next to each other and cut through them like I did (losing your Ikea warranty). Eighter that or plate the outside of a single cabinet to mask the excess. I would advise you to use a multi tool for the job. Grts
