    Man Utd's squad was on its last legs in Ferguson's last season, which is one of the main reasons Moyes struggled. Liverpool on the other hand have a squad full of young up and coming players who have showed lots of potential, and they have a few experienced, good quality players.
    Anybody expecting or even hoping that Liverpool fall off a cliff this season could well end up very disappointed.

      Other positives are that last season's complete starting midfield change has now had a year to gel. They also had loads of injuries last season, Salah was at AFCON and also came back injured. Lastly, LFC created the most chances of any team in the top flight European leagues and just blew it on the finishing. The goal tally will only go upwards, especially if Jota stays fit. Loved Klopp, but early every season, the high line caused us more problems than it solved.

      Don't underestimate (sleep on, as the kids are saying) the impact of Osula. He looks ready, he will strengthen our bench and could have a really important role in the last 10-15 of close matches, something we really missed last season. Plus he is cover when Isak is unavailable, assuming Wilson spends 50% of the season injured.

      Would relegation even work? If its about FFP, they would earn less in the championship but still have loads of players on big contracts….so wouldn’t it just compound the issue? Its not like they can just offload them all in a single window. Being banned from buying any players for a couple of seasons would be more logical….maybe a points deduction that would make it difficult to win the league also…?

    Yea liverpools lack of signings are concerning to say the least. But if they “look like one of the best sides in pre season”, new signings will only improve that. If they don’t sign anyone, they still play the way they currently are. So they either don’t sign anyone and still look like one of the better/best teams, or they do bring a couple players which only improve that level of play.

Just a core of the squad more experienced in Ange ball - whatever that means. 4-8th pos we will be challenging for. If the senior pros lose belief it will be a bad season. Still unimpressed with many of the 1st team. Ive made a note of your observation. Will compare them after 10games and see. IIRC you were pretty much on the button with the predictions last year. • @DudeSilad
    @DudeSilad Před 28 dny +2

    I'm a Liverpool fan and can only tell you how I think Liverpool will do. With the current players, we will rip some teams apart but the way our new style of play looks, it players are off form, the whole thing breaks down. It relies on constant passing and moving. Hopefully Slot has a plan B. Kloppo had only really one. And that was substitutions. Usually they worked. But we always played 433 although it was quite fluid. If Mo was having a quiet game, he'd stay with a 433. Sometimes you need to go 422 or 352. With players suited to those formations.
    I've been hearing that he may send Bajecetic out on loan. That's a big mistake. He's the best holding midfielder we have despite his age. If he sends him on loan and plays Jones regularly, we are fck'd

    • @nonnayoubuzinnes1669
      @nonnayoubuzinnes1669 Před 28 dny +2

      You're doing Klopp dirty there. I go to games and he made a lot of in game changes with the formation. Pep Lijnders was clever too and would often suggest changes which worked well. With Trent being poor defensively Klopp would have Gini or Henderson switching and covering him and he would sometimes switch the forwards around during games. We did occasionally play 4:4:2 but it never worked very well with the players we have.

    • @nlght84
      @nlght84 Před 28 dny +1

      You forgot that Macca and Endo slowly adapted to Liverpool in the first few months last year, TAA also made crucial errors in the beginning of the season. While Szobo's injury made him into a crap form in the last 2 months. Also our forwards were crap and missed all the chances in the last 2-3 months.
      So our last year freshmen became confident, they look like they have been playing for years at Liverpool as you can saw from preseason.
      Slot looks better coach than Klopp, and thats a huge statement, I never suspected I would say that before season start lol.
      People say we are bad because of lack of signing, but I am not worried. We are young, but confident, we have squad depth and our new coach is somebody can raise anybody to level up their game! Macca is not the shy kid who wants to settle into the team, he has the balls of steel. TAA looks very composed. Szobo as an AM will be game changer, he was a workhorse under Klopp, but his real talent is in attacking football! The reformed Grav looked awesome as a pivot against Sevilla, and I think Endo will be also better under Slot! Harvey leveled up for sure, he looks very mature! Salah looks liberated that FSG didn't throw him to the Saudis, he has a monster physical form at his age! Jota looks also a monster, Diaz has wings on his back! Only Nunez and Jones needs to level up his game, but Slot is here only for a few weeks, we should be patient! And we have Nyoni, that kid is going places, I can see Real Madrid knocking for him in 4-5 years.
      The other teams should be terrified of us! We are going to teach them how we play football, thats for sure! I trust Slot, he overexceeded my expectations so far!

    • @DudeSilad
      @DudeSilad Před 27 dny +1

      @@nonnayoubuzinnes1669 I could write thousands of positive words about Kloppo. But I wanted to point out some of the things he did or didn't do. But he was hamstrung by not being given the funds Citeh had.
      For me, he probably quit at the wrong time because the youth coming through is superb. But I can understand why he quit. The pressure is immense.

    • @DudeSilad
      @DudeSilad Před 27 dny

      @@nlght84 I pretty much agree with everything you said. Nunez though, apart from his missed chances, also terrifies the opposition. I love having him on the pitch. But how will he take sitting on the bench if Jota is first choice?
      I don't think Jones will get a look in. Once the team is settled and Gravenberch makes one of those positions his own, Mac A or Bajecetic has the other position, Jones will be fighting far superior players for that 10 role.
      I like Endo but the one weakness he has is his passing is not as crisp as everyone else's. The Sevilla game was played at an incredible pace. Being knocked around the pitch mostly one touch. Quansah was the only one putting his foot on the ball and taking his time. I noticed we weren't passing needlessly in to the box if we were outnumbered. It would be passed back to keep up that pressure.
      I'm not worried either. Except I won't be happy if he does loan out Bajecetic. He's too good. Nyoni looks special but he's still growing and needs to be protected.

    I've gone with your top 3 as I think the Arsenal youth with continue to flourish with, of course, their important signing Calafiori. Also I picked Ipswich to stay up though not finishing as high as you are currently predicting. In addition to what you say about the squad I think the loyalty of their manager, resisting attempts to lure him to Chelsea, will offer more continuity than Leicester will have. You've gone quite early, the transfer window could force some significant changes. Having made previous predictions over the last few seasons only to find injuries, mid-season mangerial changes etc. can wreck a season for some teams, I know it is very difficult to get more than a few positions right. But it's fun!

    I think Enzo will get it right quicker than Poch did last yr. It's pretty straight forward so far to be honest,
    Jackson/Guiu/maybe new ST will start up top. Nkunku will play in-behind that striker. There will be a left winger holding width on the left side because the LB won't push up forward, most likely Neto will cement LW if and when fit, RW will be palmer. Enzo will be deeper 8, Caicedo/Lavia will be the 6. Cucurella-Colwill-Tosin/Fofana-Gusto/Reece will be back 4. Jorgensen will become No 1 GK.
    Not sure why so many out there are making it look too complicated about Chelsea under Enzo.

    But ... I believe even with no major star signing, it's possible for Liverpool to finish 2nd, if not top. My rose-tinted glasses are imagining a super full-points start, giving a Slot Machine confidence to the Chelsea / Arsenal games leading into Halloween.
    Thankfully, my thoughts won't be remembered later, like Alice's will 😊

    Alice at the start you mentioned it's difficult to do these predictions. Don't worry just do another at xmas when it matters. These at this time are just fun. NO table has ended as predicted before a season started. Villa fan here. City could only get relegated if it happened at season end. They won't get any conclusion on the 115 until the 2nd quarter of 2025. Too much evidence to collect. A case like this takes quite some time. November 2024 to start the case. City were in court on June 10th for APT rule change being challenged. Villa won't do well in the Champions League so... the League Cup is coming home again since 1996 and we can do well in the league again with less to focus on. I'm waiting for Diego Carlos to land at Fulham, Catty Mash to leave too opening up an opportunity for Lutsharel Geertruida to land and one more. We have Kamara back, Buendia back, Mings back. STRONG SPINE , OLLIE!! DIBU!! TIELEMANS!! Onana to shine & watch Barrenechea in mid, Kosta Nedeljkovic our right new back 18 yr old wizard. Bold table?? OF COURSE. I'm like a squirrel in a cardboard box right now with excitement!!

    A player from Portugal, from Fulham academy and from Balham, wow..
    A player jürgen Klopp liked a lot.. even spoke about him when he wasn’t at Fulham.
    A player lfc should have not sold, because he is a young player and home grown.

    19. Ipswich
    They will go down as three teams have to go down
    20. Leicester city

    Liverpool a laughing stock in the transfer market but still big accounts like this and Goldbridge's who are die-hard Man united supporters, with all the signings they have had, put their beloved club way below Liverpool the prediction. I know this may not mean anything, but to me it shows how well Liverpool are led and how good their squad still is. Add a couple of big signings and will be even better.

    It's not possible for Chelsea to keep a happy dressing room. Today was their first game and already, Raheem Sterling has got his representatives to put out a public statement about not being selected. This is poor, ego-driven moaning that proves he doesn't have smart people around him. I suspect this is just the start of Chelsea's problems. Nobody understands what they are doing, but I suspect that Chelsea think kids today choose to support players before a club. Yes, there is some evidence of this, but it is mostly associated with world-class players. It started with Ronaldo & Messi.

      @@TheMercWithMouth Its not that simple. A large part of the charges are based on a club wide conspiracy. That has to be proven. Most of the law experts that have weighed in on this have said in no uncertain terms that conspiracy is very difficult to prove and that because the charges are so many it is going to be difficult.
      They are not even convicted. How is it about how they are punished. You should get the money for your law degree back.
