Really enjoyed this tutorial. I love how you explain things without talking to us viewers like we're babies, thank you x. Your skirt is beautiful btw.
Brittany, you have no idea how much I’m enjoying these sew alongs! My back doesn’t even hurt so bad while I’m watching. It helps to distract me.
Della Juanita Underwood I’m so happy to hear that! I pray for a speedy recovery for you! ❤️❤️❤️
Brittany J Jones aww, Honey, thank you so much! It’s going pretty well so far.
I'm a year late, but I enjoyed this video tutorial! I purchased this pattern on Etsy 2 days ago and then your video popped up. Thank you for a great teaching, and sewing style.
Even with step one I already realized I sewed this skirt wrong. This was a first pleats skirt pattern for me. THANKS SO MUCH for doing this tutorial!
You're so welcome! I hope the video will help you on your first pleated skirt!! You can do it!!
Your skirt looks great! If the area between the top two buttons bothers you, just add a snap in between them to keep it closed! (Ask me how I know) LOL!!
Thank you thank you thank you❤❤❤❤❤❤ I am very new to sewing. This series is amazing!!!!!!
Your sew along is so detailed! This skirt is exactly what would've appealed to me when I was younger and less bumpy in places! Sewing on black has got to be a challenge for the eyes. I just found you and look forward to more!
While watching this sew with me video, I learned something that helped me solve a problem that I've had for months with a Vogue pattern. It had to do with the fold, interfacing, and fold again! I have this skirt pattern. I'm not entirely convinced that I will like it if I make it. Love to watch your videos and I'm now inspired to try this one. Thanks!
That double fold also confused me !
Great sew along. Thank you. Skirt looks really good.
Really enjoy watching you sew
Loved your video. Thank you for the wonderful tip on the bias tape finish. It looks very professional and I will use this forever.
I was having trouble with the waistband on Simplicity 8612 wrap skirt view B, until I watched this video. How little did I know this video would help me figure out how to finish my waistband. You're a godsend. Thank you so much.
Yay! Thats so awesome to hear! I'm so happy the video was helpful!!
The skirt is so nice! Wonderful tutorial!
Love the skirt and so good to see you back! Thanks for all the details, you showed us everything, thanks,
Thank you so much Dee! I really appreciate it!! Thanks for watching!!
Thanks for the video; I have been looking for a nice skirt pattern for work. I have just been inspired to buy this skirt pattern and look forward to following along as I put it together. I'm relatively new to sewing, so I will make a toile first with an old bedsheet.
Sooo Super cute Ms. Britt! I love this skirt on you, it’s just adorable! (And has so many options too!)
thank you so much for this fantastic video, the skirt looks so beautiful.
Excellent sew with me video, Brittany. Love the animal print belt and shoes you're wearing with the skirt. It's gorgeous and so are you!
Aww thank you so much Laura!!
This is so awesome I cannot wait to sew this
Love your instructional videos, when my granddaughter starts sewing I can have her follow them. Would be a much better teacher then me.
Great sew along Brittney, skirt looks beautiful on you. Thank you for sharing. Val🇨🇦🇬🇧❤️
Love love this skirt and how you styled it Brit. :)
Beautiful!! Loved the tutorial as well.
Your personality brings happiness to my day. So thankful for your channel!
Oh wow! Thats so sweet! Thank you so much for watching my videos!!
I love your videos. You are very very clear when you teach...thank you. So much better for learner like I am.
I'm so excited to have found your channel. I recently bought all the materials for this skirt because the woman at the fabric store said it was a beginner level pattern (and she sold me waaay too much fabric). Step one and I was so confused. Thank you for saving the day. Once again I want to get working on this skirt.
Got assigned to create this pattern. Glad I found your channel researching this pattern. Keep up the beautiful work! 😊
You did such a beautiful job and explained it so well. I really enjoyed watching this. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for watching!! I really appreciate it!!
Love, love you & your videos. You remind me so much of my DIL. Super cute skirt. The skinny contrasting belt sets your whole outfit into the awesome realm. ❤️
I really enjoy your sew alongs! Great job!

I must get this stern! Love the crispness of the fabric! Thank you Brittany.
Thank you so much!!
I meant I must get this pattern!! 😋And you look fantastic!!!
McCalls patterns are on sale online! Thank you for this tutorial, I just ordered! Cannot wait to make this pattern
Great gams...
I like this skirt. You did a good job. Very pretty
Thank you so much Renee!
Hi there, if you sew a button front skirt again try sewing the waistband button hole horizontally and the lower ones down the skirt front vertically. This allows movement for the button holes to move over the contours of the body without distorting the lie of the foot t band.
Beautiful work as usual Britt! I always seem to sew my pleats wonky, but will be moire careful and you look radiant 😍😍
Thank you so much Ms. Nateida!!
I love your skirt! I could see this in lots of bright prints!
Me too! I can see it many colors! I definitely need an olive and navy!!
Ki can't wait to makes this thanks to your lesson Brittney!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
You're so welcome! Thank you for watching Lori!
I ordered a pattern from Joanne fabrics that I saw you sew. I'm in the process of moving, but looking forward to making it.

Susan Peach Thanks again for your sew-a-long, have watched everyone you have done and made 6 in total. This skirt is not my style, but look forward to your next Sew-a-long.
Oh wow! 6 total! Thats amazing! Thank you so much for watching my sew alongs!
Super cute
That skirt came turned out really nice and is very flattering on you. That’s for sharing. Can you please tell me where you get your labels from.
another lovely make, you wear the clothes so well
Awesome tutorial easy to follow. Your skirt looks great...
Thank you so much for watching!!
I love love this skirt I am going to make one for me to thank you so much.
Thank you so much for the wonderful and detailed video! You finished the inside of the skirt beautifully in ways I would not have thought of but am excited to try. Did you try on the skirt as you were making it to test fit? Or hope for the best based on the finished garment measurements?
Love the leopard accessories.
Thank you so much!!!
Love it!
What about a little Velcro in the opening. That should hold it in place. I Love this skirt. Yours is Beautiful!!! Thank you for the time you take to help others...like me 😃
I definitely plan on doing this one, with your help 👍🏻
Thank you so much Darlene! I think I'm gonna sew in a small snap that will help keep it from popping out! Thank you for your suggestion though! And good luck making your skirt!!
Okay, yeah, a snap should work great.
Thank you! I’ve watched your video for a heads up. Hope to make it next week 👍🏻
I will be making this tomorrow and will tag you. The video was/is great
Yasss have fun making your skirt! Please tag me! I'd love to see! Thank you so much for watching!!
Great sew along.
Very good tutorial.
Love your videos
Cute skirt and great tutorial
Thank you so much!!
Beautiful your Jon, congratulation
I Love your videos!!! wondering if you could do one on transferring markings from the pattern.I'm not very good at it!
I'd also love to see a video on transferring pattern markings. One problem I have is that unless I start my sewing project immediately, my markings seem to disappear quickly. I understand that experienced sewers have different techniques for transferring markings so I'd love to see some of yours Brittany.
I'm a beginning sewer and when I select my patterns, I always seem to misjudge the proper size to cut out for myself. As a rank beginner, I'm obviously a long way from being able to custom alter a pattern or a garment, so can you do a video showing how to select the proper size on a given pattern that best matches the sewer's personal measurements?
Brittany, do you think I could make it in a light weight denim? It's a cute pattern.
pretty skirt!!!
Thank you Kelly!!
I LOVE leopard print with navy. 😉
Thank you so much!
hello , brittany , i would like to use stretch neddlecord to make this dress. what do you think
i love your video and your style
Hi Brittany! I just discovered your channel and I subscribed immediately. Your tutorials are awesome. I sewed this skirt along with you and made your suggested button adjustment (slightly upwards) but I still got a giant gap,- much worse than yours. It's too bad because I love the rest of the skirt and had such high hopes. Other than adding a snap, have you figured out a way to correct this flaw? I've been wanting a flattering, full pleated skirt forever. Is there another one you suggest? Thank you!
Hey Kelsey! Thank you so much for subscribing to my channel! I really appreciate that! I'm so sorry to hear you have a gap also on your skirt. Other than adding a snap, I haven't come up with another fix for it. I'm sorry. I did look through recently released patterns and I saw Simplicity 8743. It's a pleated skirt, with pockets. It doesn't have the buttons but it can be made in similar fabrics as this one, like cotton, denims, and sateen. Thank you again for watching!
@@brittanyjjonestv Hey Brittany- I was just cruising your channel and saw that you have a tutorial for Vogue 9090. How do you like that skirt compared to this one? Do you enjoy wearing it as much or more? Thanks again and thank you for your generous work!
Hi Brittany J😁 question Has anyone ever asked you make them a garment using on the patterns you've used before?
Cute. Do u take out the base stitches?
what kind of sewing machine is that looks like it sews great
Ver very nice new subbie
Hi Brittany, amazing video, I can't wait to start my skirt! Which sewing machine are you using in this video? I need to change mine ;-)
LORENA MASTANDREA hi! Thank you so much!!! I have the Husqvarna Viking Epic 980q sewing machine.
Uhhh....I'll check it , looks super technological and smart!!! Thank you Brittany. Keep doing videos please, are very helpful!!! Can't wait to see your next ones:-))) .ciao ciao!
Love the skirt! And the steam from that iron.what brand is it?
Thank you! It a Hamilton Beach iron from Walmart! I was surprised at the steam too!
Great job! I don't wear too many full skirts, but the skirt came out great and looks beautiful on you. I loved your runway walk at the end! I'm in the market for a new serger. What is the model that you use, and would you recommend it?
Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked the walk at the end! I'm call it #patterninmotion lol! I just want to show the movement of the project once it done! My serger is the Husqvarna Viking Huskylock s25. I love it. Its a two-in-one, so its a serger and a overstitch machine. I definitely recommend it especially if you will use the coverstitch feature. If not, Husqvarna has another serger that's just a serger. Or you can start with a Brother serger, they are great for beginners, affordable, and has amazing reviews from a lot of makers.
I will look into the Husqvarna server. I have an older White Speedylock that I bought on clearance from WalMart years ago. It needs repairing but I really want to upgrade, so I will check it out. Thanks for the info.
Brittany, when you serge, do you use your cutter?
Awesome video Brittany! Can I ask a question? When serging the pieces first do you use the knife of the serger or no? I never understood that because I thought it take away from the seam allowance when you sew the pieces together. I'm sorry if this should be common sense, I'm new to sewing and my serger. My mom and I love your videos 🤗
Hey! Thank you so much for watching the video! Also don't be sorry for asking! I'm here to help if I can so ask away! To answer your question, I do not use the knife when I serge first.
@@brittanyjjonestv thank you so much!!!!
Nice sew along! Where did you get your adorable labels? 😊
Thank you so much! I order my labels from Dutch Label Shop.
Can you tell me what model iron you are using?
Hi Brittany,....I noticed you do not press some of your fabric before you place your pattern
And you do not press your
Pattern.
Just curious. When ever I sewed, I always pressed the fabric after washing and drying.
And pressed the pattern after taking it out of the envelope. It was just t wrinkled to be able to flatten...do you feel all of this is a waste of time?
Very pretty. What kind of fabric did you use?
Hey! I used a Sateen from Joanns.
Brittany J Jones is it Cotton Sateen?
My Joann did not have the pattern:(
Ughh! I hope they get them in soon!
They are on sale today McCalls.com
Hi Brittany what's the name of serger?
I use the Husqvarna Viking Huskylock s25.
Thank you for replying!👍❤
This is a great tutorial! Thank you, I've got my fabric and am starting this pattern tomorrow! Thank you, Brittany!
