I visit all the filming location from the Michael Jackson music video beat it from the album Thriller . Most of the location was filmed downtown Los Angeles in an area thats called skid row I had an awesome time finding all the locations it is incredible to find out that lots of the locations are still exist
I’m surprised the store that was the warehouse where they danced doesn’t have any memorabilia or pictures hanging up of Beat it!

In 40 - 50 years city of los angeles gonna regret they did not preserve its history. Would have been great tourist places
All things LA over the past decades has been either torn down and rebuilt or abandoned and uncared for. It’s a bittersweet experience to see the past in photos and see the new now set in stone. It’s a still a blessing to feel the ghosts of once was.

This might seem minor to some. But I am so happy when fans acknowledge Michael's accomplishments as a Black artist. Along with the records he set as a African American. Its essential imo we do not erase his roots. Yes hes about unity and he appealed to all. But for the record books and history, induct him as the Greatest Black Entertainer of all time.

OMG! OMG! OMG! I just want to say thank you so FREAKING much for filming this!!! It's so FREAKING amazing how the locations of the "Beat It" film has changed somewhat over the years and yet you can still distinguish somehow the locations because the design is somewhat still the same! This was such a BLAST from the PAST! I REALLY enjoyed it! I felt like I went through a time machine watching this to where I'm back to the PRESENT DAY once the video ended!!! The history of things is just so FREAKING amazing and then when it comes to the things about Michael!!! 💕💖💕💖💕💖💕💖💕 💖 And so cool that you didn't even have to bring the pictures of where Michael was in the Monte Carlo Café because the café is ALREADY honoring the fact that Michael produced his "Beat It" film there by having hanged up the pictures of the moves he did in the café in the film!! 😆😆😆😆😆😄😄😄😄😄 I just love it and so great that I'll be seeing this once I go to the Monte Carlo Café in LA!!! TV and in 1987 ( after the Thriller craze had died down) that wasn't that often. My Aunt used to wear it around the house all the time. Even at that time, she'd already had it for years. I was a teenager when I finally put it together.

Nothing says Micheal Jackson like soccer.
The REAL diner from Beat It is now known as “The Southern Motel” located at 412 East Fifth street in downtown LA! The door that MJ bursts through has all been replaced with red panels. But this is the true location CONFIRMED by other movies from that time period, and LA building records that can be found online. It’s not in a great area so stay safe if you go check it out. Also, the building you see across the street when MJ opens the door is still there, standing and looks the same. That confirms it is the correct location! Happy Hunting!
I just looked up the Southern Motel on Google street view. The red panel labelled 412 that used to be the dinner entry doors is directly in line with the building that can be seen in the background when Michael makes his entrance into the dinner in the Beat It video. The area has gotten worse in 37 years. Homeless camps line the sidewalks. It is very sad. Best to visit it from the safety of Google maps. The city should have preserved the dinner for tourist purposes. The place German visited is a knock off based on the iconic dinner which no longer exists.
1977TA Yup true. I hate how that diner has made money from faking the location for so many years. Yes, the Southern Motel area is pretty bad. Been there a few times and for sure all of the adjacent buildings match. I wish they would have realized how much of a treasure it would be and kept it around. There’s an old blog that does a bunch of research about this location and you can see additional photos of it from other movies and stuff. Classic stuff.
