Unfortunately cyclops wasn't perceived well in the movies compared to the cartoons. Its a bummer because he's a real charismatic leader

@@FXG4MERR I don't think thats entirely true, at least it's never been concretely stated before. From my understanding, its only ever been alluded to him drawing his power from the sun/ambient bio-energies. Hence why he's had to "recharge" a couple times, like once against apocalypse after he drained that bio-energy, as he called it. However, I'd be completely down for them to make it so it is from another dimension. Portals for eyes? Shit, theres far stranger things in marvel than that
It's cool to see Scott learning to use his powers, but I definitely hope Cyclops in the MCU will be more like he was in X-Men: Evolution tbh (i.e. skilled fighter, good leader, good control over his powers, good spatial awareness, etc).

It feels like a chronological order of cyclops.
It's good that Wolverine was able to prevent Scott / Cyclops from being killed. Same with all the other characters with extras, in all the previous X Men movies except First Class and some Origin Wolverine, from being killed, from what went in Days of Future Past.
The sound effects from X2 were by far the best
The MCU NEEDS to get Cyke Right! He's the X-Men's best leader, their "Captain America" basically. He's also Marvel's most "Dangerous Tactician" according to Nick Fury himself and one of the most Powerful Mutants ever, the MCU needs To show all of this!

@@gottod6895 thats not true, it was in a handbook that later got changed to the actual explanation that he gets the energy for his powers from the sun. Everything I look up says thats just a concept people like holding onto, but has never actually been present in the comics themselves.
@@Dead51012 I was just reading X-Men king breaker comic book , concerning Alex escape and fight with Vulcan their brother, Alex gets his power from stars, and I believe the nature of his power is similar to Scott's. So you are probably right.
@@gottod6895 makes sense, for their powers to be from similar sources. And to be frank, the sun is a star so they'd technically get their energy from the same thing. Though maybe cyclops is more attuned with our yellow sun and havik with others, like blue suns or something. Either way, star power is dope lol
I've seen ppl criticise the films for getting Cyclops' powers wrong since his optic blasts are meant to be concussive, not meant to generate heat like a laser.
However, it seems like there are plenty of examples in the comics where his optic blasts *do* generate heat so perhaps he can do both.
I hope that'll be the case in the MCU since I'm personally a big fan of powers having multiple uses/ applications - it would mean he's able to hit ppl with his blasts like a punch (i.e. w/out causing them burns/ severe injuries), but could also use them to burn things whenever he wants.
THAT WOULD BE SO AWESOME! And a perfect balance for all sides of the coin. Like the theorist and questioners, etc.
I'd rather just have concussive. Because heat is so generic, it also comes from Superman obviously.

@@damsen978 I guess so, but I think he's distinct enuff tbh (if done well), especially since optic blasts are Cyclops' *only* power, whereas all those characters are like gods with how OP they are lol (flight, speed, strength, durability, etc).
That is what pisses me off about these directors: they have zero imagination on how to make cyclops use his powers in a unique resourceful fashion.
And now ‘97 has him using them to cover distance, break his falls, and block hits.

@@comicfannicolas3645yeah, Fox really had crap-all imagination. I’m sure when Cyclops comes to the MCU, they’ll want to create a new image for the character, so we should get some creative and excellent representation for him.
Underpowered him too for some reason. Goes from being able to blast apart rock with ease, to being unable to blast through wood, let alone metal.
His most powerful blasts have been compared to being hit by a bus traveling at the speed of sound. He would win a staring contest with a mountain. His is probably my least favorite X-Men power but there is no doubt to his strength.

Scott eyes is like a portal which has a mass amount of power concussive energy, so when he opens his eyes the energy come shooting out in a form of a beam and can only be contained by a specific eyewear.
I heard a claim that in the comics, he's *supposed* to be able to control it, but early head trauma rendered him unable to do so, hence the need for special equipment. I have not looked to attempt to verify this, though.
@@Blazieth It was becuase of a plane accident something like that which got him and injury in his eyes therefore he can't control his eyes. His parents died on the accident and only him and his brother survived.
Exactly! My favorite fact about his powers is that since it's from a dimension of pure physical force, they aren't beams, but closer to bright red Lazer punches. Comics can be so dumb and fun, lol.

I just realized I never really watched apocalypse. They really depowered Scott. If he takes those glasses off, it's full power, not tiny beam.
I hope they give Cyclops those safety buttons in his gloves like the comics when the MCU brings him in. So he doesn't have to keep reaching for his visor

He controls them with his visor
If being comic accurate, the visors actually controls his optic blast, if he took them off, his beam will take effect by a radius, basically a mini nuke of pure concussive energy.

The bit I don't get is how Cyclops can be so inaccurate so often whilst 'shooting'. Surely if he's looking directly at something he's dead on target?
I know it's all make believe but this is one super hero that really doesn't work for me.
Its like shooting with a gun. You have a gun locked on your target using your eyes yet you can still miss the target often. Same shit here.

My favorite X-Man!
The next X-Men movie should be about The StarJammers and Corsair, Cyclops Havok father, and they have to try to save him from The Shi'ar Empire and keep D'ken from obtaining The M' Kraan Crystal.
They seemed to get in the first X Men movies that the Optic Blasts are supposed to be concussive, but over time it gets more and more forgotten as the movies went on.
After seeing how 97 is treating the character, actually getting creative with his power and fully acknowledging its concussive force, it really shows in these movies how little they thought of the character. Hope if they ever do the MCU versions, that they actually have him do cool things with his power.
Scott's mutant powers to fire optic blasts from his eyes are pretty cool.

@Sonic Collections Ps2 Noises I’ve written 2 chapters so far but I did write a little short story on the side. You have to understand that this is a fan made story by me and the chances of anyone taking any interest is very slim because fan docs are usually stupid by fans. There are some out there who actually write good stories. My reason for writing this cyclops story is because for yrs I am sick and tired of directors not being resourceful with a characters powers. I guess you could say I am writing this fan fox story to prove a point.

Who wins in a fight to the death between Wolverine and Cyclops?
Cyclops! And easily. Use the strongest adaptation of Wolverine you can muster. Doesn't matter. Fight Starts, Wolverine gets roasted to incapacitation, fight over. Cyclops can punch a hole in a mountain, that's a different level of power then Logan can handle. The kinetic force alone will knock him the f out, and that's not counting the intense heat. Oh but Wolvie can heal? Cyclops roasts him again, and perhaps keeps the blast on Wolvie until he's ash.
Interesting thing about Scott is that the blast isn't coming from his body. His eyes are a portal to another dimension and the beam travels through. So he can keep it up indefinitely. He can also weaken and strengthen the blast with his visor, and his strongest version doesn't even need it. He's also stated to be near genius level intellect, farm smarter then Logan. And because he's shooting from his eyes, his accuracy is godlike including his ability to deflect his blast off of objects to hit his target. I don't see anyway Logan stands a chance, how will he even get close? In the comics and movies even Magneto views Cyclops as a huge threat and usually contains him in some form or another.

The movie did a bad job depicting Cyclops, his optic blast is not supposed to be a laser like superman's. Also Cyclops is a tactician and his optic blast are very accurate.
